  1. I would say yes because being a resident in another state, he is allowed to keep whatever he wants that is legal in that east coast state. It is his responsibility not to import them into California.
  2. It feels so good to get stuff like that off of your chest. Sometimes people just need to have a proper talking to so that their behavior can be corrected. Good job!
  3. I have shot the standard FNS-9 and that thing is sweet! It doesn't need a trigger job, but with one it would be tough to beat. The opening on the magwell is pretty darn big, the gun indexes real well and it's plenty accurate to boot. I will definitely be getting the 5" model when it's released.
  4. +1 They make something for every body, pretty much. If you want speed, the DOH is real nice and the retention is there depending on how hard you crank down on the tension screws. If you want real retention, the WRS Level 2 holster is really quick to draw from and sturdy as all hell.
  5. My buddy's open gun from the mid 80s. Welded on comp, SS .45ACP. The slide racker is a fairly recent addition I believe, but the rest is all old school. That gun was state of the art back in the day!
  6. Yeah that's normal for a lot of different magazines. I have a few for my carry gun that rattle like crazy but work fine.
  7. I have a Wilson wide single sided extended safety on my limited gun. It is much more solid and I like not having the right side flap there to bother my firing hand. For WHO shooting, I just take the safety off before I transition hands so I don't miss my old ambi at all.
  8. Just call sti, they should be able to give you an estimate...unless they are like beretta, lol
  9. I bet kytac makes one since that is what dave s is using as of late
  10. Definitely not a bad choice. I have a DAA belt and love it. The bt doh is also plenty fast and has worked for alot of folks for a long time.
  11. That is the trigger I run, and it fits my hand perfectly. My finger is a great angle every time I squeeze the trigger.
  12. I've shot my home defense 10.3" DD MK18 with an AAC M4-2000, Geissele SSA, and Micro T-1 on it in a couple of 3 gun matches (200 yards on in) and it performed well. Where it really shines are in the tactical rifle matches. Very fast to transition, real accurate and it's hard to get a better muzzle brake than a can .
  13. Thanks, I'm interested in one of the Max in .40. I just talked to my Sig rep and it should be out sometime this summer...hopefully. I want one as well.
  14. What is the problem with the Paras? They're fine until I hit a "hose'm" stage then they can't keep up. I've tried return springs from 12.5 thru 20 #'s & can't get the timing right. They stove-pipe (mostly). I've tried everything I can think of & asked anyone who'd listen. Re-sprung & followers. Those mags are persnickety (how about that word!) as hell. I'm pretty much at a loss. Every-time I think I have it solved . . . nope. Any info or recommendations that you might pass on to me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. -jb What magazine spring/follower combination have you tried? Also, I believe a 16 - 18# recoil spring is about right for a .45 shooting major. I haven't heard of many p14s having issues, especially with the mags. My p16 had some magazine issues until I started using dawson followers and mag springs.
  15. Darn it! They look promising. if you check midway they usually tell you when things are coming back in stock.
  16. The only gun I can think of would be a Glock 21, arrendondo makes a +4 extension for it, and apparently its reliable. http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=154
  17. The new beta release of ipsc shot timer has par times in tenths. Pretty neat.
  18. I would assume that it was when he left Para.
  19. I am fortunate enough to have the opportunity to load at work in my off time.
  20. I don't know where you heard that they make the TRP for the FBI, but the FBI HRT uses the springfield professional which is in the same realm of quality as nighthawk, wilson, etc. the TRP is built to be a mass produced, low cost, alternative to the professional.
  21. I know its on their website, but I don't know if it its available since tj doesn't shoot for para anymore. I'll bet they will come out with a TT model soon, though.
  22. I have a 12# recoil spring and a 19# mainspring in my p16.40 and it works out pretty well.
  23. Interesting that there is another widebody gun called a 2011. I'm surprised that STI has not been able to copyright that name.
  24. This is not just Ruger, this is the case for most of the industry. In the middle of March, S&W was backordered almost as much as their total sales last year. Getting Colt AR-15s in any sort of volume? Yeah, good luck. I don't know if it's the upcoming election, or people being scared of the end of the world/whatever or a combination of both, but guns are going pretty darn fast. In mid-January, the shop I work at had our one week long anniversary sale. We started with 82 S&W M&P15 Sport models, we had sold them all before the sale ended and now we can't get them replaced. I hope this year doesn't turn out to be 2008/2009 all over again.
  25. I am placing my order for an 8+1 on Monday, can't wait till I get it!
