  1. I strongly believe that the Spartan is one of the top 3 best 1911s under $1k, and at $628 + $250 for a tuning package from Dawson or Brazo's, it is extremely tough to beat for the money.
  2. When I started I was using a red, then a buddy of mine said to try green. Shortly after, I switched to black on black and now I am back to green haha. Green is most definitely the easiest for my eyes to pick up, especially in bright sunlight.
  3. I have three Spike's lowers, one with a 10.3" DD MK18 upper, one with an 11.5" BCM upper and one with a 16" Colt 6920 upper. None of them were any problem putting together, everything fit well and I used Spike's LPKs for all of them. When I build my 3 gun rifle, it will also be on a Spike's lower. You can't beat them for the money.
  4. Dave Pruitt definitely does a good job, you won't be disappointed.
  5. I believe a friend and I are going, does anybody know if there will be signage on the road to let us know where to turn in?
  6. The Galco Ankle Glove is a pretty darn nice ankle rig.
  7. You are going to get many different suggestions for a holster from many different shooters. I would personally recommend a Blade Tech DOH, but plenty of people use race holsters... I just don't think I'm good enough to take advantage of a $150+ holster. My draw isn't what makes me suck Yes you can use the same holster for Limited/Standard. The magazines must be no longer than 140mm long and most tubes/basepads out there will be proper length. Check out Grams, Bolen and Dawson Precision for basepads. I am sure someone else will have some other sug gestions for you
  8. Xicidis, all the needed gear has been discussed, but the sights on your Glock IMO should not be truglos. Those are defensive type sights and not ideal for what we do. I recommend getting a dawson precision fiber optic front sight and an adjustable rear sight. When you start reloading, you will appreciate the adj sight
  9. I love that show, I watch every episode! I would love it if the USPSA would get something like that going. Maybe have something like Spike's Powerblock but with action shooting sports!
  10. It is just as secure as any other bladetech holster without a thumb break. They all only use screw tension to keep the gun secure. Oh okay, I guess it's just angle of the gun and the big cut that kind of threw me off.
  11. Yep, I use a high thumb forward grip just like any other gun and ignore the thumb rest entirely.
  12. At first they look appealing, mostly due to price, but I don't like the idea of an open race holster with nothing but screw tension to keep the gun from falling out.

    para 16-40

I've been thinking of trying out the thin Alumagrips for the Para to alleviate the hugeness of the grip.
  14. 90 degree mount keeps the dot closer to the slide so it's easier to transition from an iron sighted gun to an open gun. I've heard they take a little more effort to zero and some people don't like the base of sight blocking the left side of the gun.
  15. Won't the CRSpeed WSM II fit a Para no problem?
  16. We sell more PMC at my job than any other brand of range ammo because of the cost and it's what we sell with all of our rental guns and I have yet to see an issue with it.
  17. Why not just buy one the SJC C-More mounts SJC Mount and put a C-More on top?
  18. That is just par for the course for Kimber. Their QC and CS is spotty at best, they easily spend more money on marketing than R&D and they just change finishes and add some aesthetic flare and call some of their guns custom shop as a result. I also can't stand when their guns aren't reliable and they blame it on break in like their guns are super tight custom builds. Kimber once told a customer of mine that his raptor wouldn't cycle because it needs 1K rounds break in, BS.
  19. That's what I've seen. Various Kimbers, Springfields and A LOT of Spartans. That's what I had suspected, but every try to find a Kimber shooting shirt????? Yeah, good luck with that one. Kimber has virtually no support for the shooting sports.
  20. Yeah it is, and he definitely knows how to shoot it, haha.
  21. Yeah, that armory kote finish is really thick but it's fairly tough.
  22. I've been selling guns for a few years now and that pretty much sums it up. Someone can be looking at Gun X, I will suggest Gun Y because of various reasons (build quality, CS, price, whatever) and unless they have an open mind on their way in, they are still most likely going to go with Gun X because their mind was already made up. Oh well, such is the way of the gun world.
  23. So basically you want something that MAY be an inferior selection just because you want something different? Go with whatever suits you, but just remember that there's a reason not many folks shoot Sig 1911s or Para GIs.
  24. That's what I've seen. Various Kimbers, Springfields and A LOT of Spartans.
  25. +1 on BAM Airsoft, not only do they sell good products including pistols and small scale targets and they will point you in the right direction. Oh yeah, and they are also USPSA shooters
