  1. I went to my local shop and had them preorder it. I had it in my hand by the end of March.
  2. I have 3 ADM mounts and 3 Larue mounts. They both hold a zero well. ADM has a mount that extends a little farther forward and allows me to shoot. Nose to charging handle with a scope. Other than that they are 2 different designs that accomplish the same thing. I didn't realize Larue supports the sport as much as it does. That will be a factor in future purchases.
  3. Lightweight barrel. It loses nothing in the accuracy area, even when toasty.
  4. I would look for a used Vortex or Sightron and keep saving money. You should be able to sell it for close to what you paid and buy a better optic if you choose. Also, evaluate your need for a FFP scope. I have a Vortex 4-16. If it is far enough to need to range it will be on 16x. On 4x the reticle is too small to be able to range. I think I would have been better suited with a SFP Vortex and would have save a bit of money. Not saying FFP is worthless, I just think that it's not close to being mandatory.
  5. He does great work. I had him do my FN in December. I will defineatly use him again.
  6. I have a Lone Wolf lower and love it. I used a CMMG upper. The bolt has to be shaved to fit between the feed lips of a Glock mag. It is my go to fun gun. I am trying to find someone local to engrave it but may have to send it out. This thing SBR'd should be awesome.
  7. The plan was to load all winter and to shoot the rest of the year. That didn't go as planned so I am loading as I go right now.
  8. I was quoted $650 out the door when I ore-ordered.
  9. It is a second focal plane. If a target is far enough to have to range I will have it on 10x. The reticle looking the same across the zoom range was more important to me. It does have marks at 5x if I wanted to range at a lower power level. The price for the illuminated model is $2520 through Kelby's. They are the only importer at this time. HotLoad: I have a very understanding wife. She talked me into getting the scope I wanted. I think it was so I would stop talking to her about it . I have never shot a precision match before, actually I have never shot past 200 yards so I don't have any dope past there. I'll let you guys know how I do.
  10. First time I experienced this was Sunday. I was shooting at a public range sighting in my rifle that has a JP trigger. Another shooter offered to let me shoot his SCAR 16. It took forever to break that first shot. I kind of felt like an idiot.
  11. Crums did my FN and it is perfect. The turn around was much faster than I expected as well.
  12. I ordered a March 1-10 in October and it came in on Friday. I mounted it up and went to the range yesterday. The glass is really really clear. The lighted reticle is visible in all but the brightest conditions. It tracks perfectly. The exposed turrets are stiff enough where I can't imagine they could turn by accident. I doubt I'll ever need 10x in a three gun match but it is there if I do. I am using the rifle in a precision rifle match next weekend so it will come in handy there. The scope it is replacing is a Millet 1-4 so it's like getting out of a Kia and into a Rolls Royce.
  13. My 3rd or 4th match had an unannounced chrono. it didn't upset me in the least. What was fun was being able to pick out the only three guys to not make declared pf before the match started. The one was "hoping" he didn't grab ammo he loaded for steel by "mistake". If you are cheating you should be caught. If you are not, why worry about it. If you are new this is a good chance to see where your ammo is.
  14. The ms3 is a pain to adjust. It does not slide smoothly like the Ms2 or the VTAC. I have the ms2, ms3, Blue force, and the VTAC. The VTAC is far superior to the other 3 for comfort, ease of adjustment and not adjusting by accident.

    C-rums

I shipped it to him on the 19th of December. Ups delivered it on the 22nd and he was finished on the 2nd of January. So 11 days including Christmas and New Years.
  16. I must be an unlucky one. My DPMS SASS was a 2 to 2 1/2 moa gun at 100 yards. I have a JP barrel that I will be installing tomorrow or the next day. Hopefully that will tighten it up some.
  17. I don't think "don't care" is accurate. I didn't vote for USPSA president or area directors from a lack of caring. I have been shooting for under a year and don't know enough about the board members to make an informed vote. I will say that this is my first glimpse into their opinions and will help me make an informed vote next time. I started into USPSA and specifically production in March because I could take a $500 pistol, put $100 into it and have a pistol that I believe is as competitive as anything that can be shot in this class. It is also pretty close to my carry weapon so even though this is a game, I get an element of training in the competitions as well.I changed the sights, connector and springs. My trigger pull is probably over three pounds but I am not sure because I don't have a trigger pull gauge. I think after this rule change my pistol will not be as competitive as others in this class. The change will not make it cheaper to shoot because I will need the same work to get the pull down but another tool to make sure it is not too low. If it is I need to buy a bunch of other springs to play with it until it is legal. Then I need to go heavier to account for changes in spring tension or variation of testing methods. This sounds like too much crap to deal with and I probably wouldn't have started shooting production if these rules were in place last march. I could always shoot limited but the $ output to have competitive gear in that class is more than I care to spend. The weapons at the top of the list cost into the thousands and have no resemblance to anything I would carry. This rule change gives me more crap to worry about or would require me to spend 2x the money on a different pistol. Neither of which make me feel warm and fuzzy about the sport.
  18. Just got my FN SLP back from C-rums. What a difference his work makes. It is so much easier to hit the port when loading. No more worries about losing part of my thumb and the trigger is worlds better. It's so clean that it looks stock if you don't know what your looking at. I can't wait for another multi gun competition. Thank you Jeff.
  19. Anyone know how to remove the magazine tube from the receiver of a FN SLP? Thanks in advance.
  20. Larue LT719 is a set of single QD rings that are .875 high. Thats the lowest I have found.
  21. I can't imagine how having a tuned gas block will decrease durability. You're only letting enough gas into the system to make it work. A standard gas block is over gassed for reliability sake and has to be harder on the rifle.
  22. Depending on your over bore height and muzzle velocity a 40 yard zero should put you on the money at 300 yards. That will put you at about 4.48 inches high at 180 yards and less before and after. This is from ballistic FTE. Shooting is the only way to check but the program is pretty good.
  23. Comptac makes a great paddle holster but I prefer standard belt holster. If you are going to be taking the holster off and on a paddle holster is king but I don't see the point when it's going on at the beginning of the day and taken off at the end of the day.
