  1. Now that you mention it, I went to a u die long before I got the STI. That could be why it runs so well.
  2. If so, my luck was really good. Mine shoots factory loads and 130pf loads with coated bullets and has been perfect with factory mags. I have one mag with TTI baseplate, spring and follower that I started getting malfunctions with. I think the spring needs to be replaced but it still runs great with the factory mags. It only gets cleaned every 1000 rounds or spans doesn't seem to mind. What recoil spring weight are you using? shoq buff or no shoq buff? I'm not sure. I haven't changed anything on the pistol, just spring follower and base pad on 1 magazine.

  4. Fortunately we don't have to agree or disagree. A very data driven person created precisionrifleblog.com and takes the time to survey the top 50 PRS shooters from across the country every year. If you want to know which caliber, bullet, sling, bipod, barrel, gunsmith or whatever the top shooters use, it is on that blog. 60% of the top guys are shooting 6mm class bullets, of which the 6 creedmoor is the most popular. Only 40% are shooting 6.5 class bullets of which the 6.5x47 is the most popular. If you get to the top 10, 8 out of 10 are shooting 6mm cal, 1 is shooting a 6.5 and 1 didn't answer the survey. It is a pretty interesting sight with a ton of info.
  5. The 6.5 creed and .260 have fallen from the top shooters. Most are shooting a 6mm variant now. That said, the 6.5 creed is the way to go if you don't reload and might want to shoot past 200 yards. Ruger has a new rifle out. Lowlight has spent a few months with it and has a lot of good things to say about it. He has a review in the bolt gun section on snipers hide. http://www.ruger.com/micros/rpr/
  6. I shoot a JP PSC12 with a lmos and a silent capture spring. It works well with a suppressor with the gas turned down. The whole gun gets filthy like BC said but it runs and shoots great.
  7. I think the JP15 is better. Mine has about 6000 rounds through it without a hicup. The low mass system shines when the bolt closes. If you put a good comp on an ar, you will notice the gun dips when the bolt slams shut. The low mass system keeps the gun flat throughout the entire recoil pulse. I would also look at the lightweight contour. The only difference is between the gas block and the muzzle. The lightweight barrel is just as accurate. I would only go for the medium if I wanted the front end to be heavier for shooting off of a bipod. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. I'm not an RO so I am asking to learn something. If a squib locks up a revolver to it can't be unloaded they are supposed to take it to a safe area? Isn't having a loaded gun or even ammo in a safe area a dq or is it okay because they are under RO supervision? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. You have to measure oal to the ogive to get an accurate measurement. I would be happy with the runout and I'm guessing the oal will be good. I would not be good with a .6 g powder variation. It's not bad for extruded but will still do you no favors in accuracy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Comparing da/SA Sig to a Da/SA CZ or tanfo is not even close. The 2 CZ pistols I've shot had better double action triggers than a single action 226 trigger.
  12. Pin shouldn't be getting lost. Are you adjusting the screw tension a lot? Didn't adjust it at all. The were not easy to push but we're manageable so I left it alone.
  13. It will work with a little heat gun application. The hood release is more reliable than the WRS.
  14. I like the TTI. If you lose the pin that holds it on, a dremel bit is the perfect size to cut down.
  15. Throw 2 into the tube of an A5. The shotgun chambers one for me.
  16. I would like one with no thumb safety for 3gun.
  17. Not saying your Glock doesn't work well for you and skill is more important than equipment but there are better guns a available then a Glock for limited. You are comparing a useable pistol the the best of the bunch. Compare that SP01 to a custom 2011 and the CZ doesn't look as good.
  18. Of course production is harder than limited and open. Single stack I believe is a toss up. The more limits you place on equipment the harder it is to shoot. The competition as to shoot with the same limitations so as far as match finish it probably doesn't make much difference unless you suck at a particular area of shooting. If you are good at everything but reloads you may finish higher in open or limited. If you are good at everything but your reloads are awesome you could probably do better in production or single stack.
  19. I carried a sig pro for 11 years. The small grip is to small, the large grip is triangular. The bore axis is very high, the trigger system was designed for an alloy frame and the 3" long slide release makes it to easy to hit keeping the slide from not locking back on the last round. It's not hard to field strip but it is way more complicated than it should be. Depending on which generation of slide lock spring it has it is easy to get the spring in the wrong spot reassembling it effectively turning it into a single shot. It is reliable until the rubber grommet holding the trigger in walks out or you put a light on it and it stops working. We switched to the FNS this year. Like getting out of a pinto and into a vette. When the sig pro came out it was marketed as sigs affordable weapon, not there good weapon. The sig classic series are great guns. We had to give up the 226's, which was a fantastic gun to get the pro's. It was definitely 2 steps backwards. I would pick an FN, Glock, Smith M&P, or an XD over the pro. The Sig Pro is accurate if your fundamentals are perfect. If you slack on anything it is not as forgiving as the other mentioned pistols. If you have average sized hands you will pinch your pinky during mag changes because the mag base plate is part of the grip.
  20. PM or email your name and address. It will probably be Thursday before I can get it shipped.
  21. I'm not sure. I bought it two years ago.
  22. Someone makes a mag release that works for STI/SVI mags. When I ordered the pistol I ordered the part. The pistol never came in so I got an STI. If one of you would like the mag release I would be willing to exchange it for good karma.
  23. Buy one from Nordic. They come in one length and you cut it to fit.
  24. "askhole" Did you get that from Snipershide or they get it from you? Either way it good. I can't take credit. I got it from a picture in an email.
