  1. Check out Pelican Armory for all your rifle/handgun case needs! They have Pelican cases to meet any need you may have and can even cutout the foam insert to match your guns and accessories. Mine is going to be the Stormcase iM3300 with custom cutout for my 18" rifle, a coupled 30 round mag, a 48 round mag, 21" M2 and my STI 2011. Then I'll have the Safariland 3-Gun Competition case over the top of the goodies so I have something to carry the guns in at matches. Pelican Armory Email paul@pelicanarmory.com with your needs and mention Team Sacramento Black Rifle to get the best pricing.
  2. Welcome to the forum! I grew up in Wichita and have shot with the locals there several times. Great group of people and my friends range outside of Augusta, which I'm sure you'll visit, is wonderful
  3. I like the carbon fiber handguards that LOKI Weapon Systems sells. They don't glue on, they use allen head flush mounted bolts. They come in different lengths, I use the 15" and 17" and they're sturdy. We've installed a Lancer tube and it didn't seem to be very sturdy. LOKI Weapon Systems also has the Nordic tubes and they're great too. The new JP LE/MIL tube looks really nice as well.
  4. Welcome to the forum! You'll enjoy all the great reading here. If you're ever in Rocklin come see us
  5. I've had both 650's and 1050's, had several primers get smooshed in the 1050 priming system. They seem to require more cleaning than I like to do. I load 30k rounds on a 650 before doing any major cleaning. I have 650's, only see about 100 rounds/hour less than the 1050 but can almost have 2 650's for the price of a 1050. Either will be a great choice. If you shoot 38 Super go with the 1050.
  6. Dang, I wanted to go to this match this year Guess I'll have to see if I can find another way in...
  7. I switched from a few 650's to a couple 1050's when I only shot 40 and a little 9mm and 38 SC. I no longer shoot 38 SC and thought loading 9mm on a 1050 was a waste. Sold a 1050 and bought 2 650's, one in 40 and one in 9mm. Changed the 1050 over to 223 thinking the swager would be a nice to have. I now own 3 650's and no more 1050's. They both load at about the same rate. I like the 650 a little better, easier to pull the handle and feel the primer getting seated. Now I only load about 20k rounds/yr so I'm far from a high volume user but I think you'll be happy with either press. One 1050 or two 650's if you shoot multiple calibers, about the same cost. Enjoy!
  8. I think LOKI's 18" double fluted barrels are awesome! Carbon handguard is sweet too! Great choices there.
  9. Sure wish I could make this match. Leaving after SHOT early Saturday morning
  10. I like WOA, John is great to deal with and I've been extremely pleased with both their 18 & 20" barrels that I've got. Recently I've been playing with lighter 18" barrels for a new 3-Gun rifle so I put uppers together using the JP 18" 34 oz barrel and then I got a barrel from Loki Weapon Systems, their 18" double fluted barrel that weighs 30 oz and it's a tack driver. In fact I let a friend "borrow" the upper for a local match and the Nationals and he won't give it back now after shooting a 2.25" group at 300 - he even ordered a new 18" LWSF rifle from Loki. I've had a couple of the Loki 18" double fluted barrels and both have been accurate enough for me. Thats almost exactly what I have been looking for. Do you know if it can be ordered with a rifle length gas system? I can't tell much difference between rifle length and mid length gas systems in my setups... I don't run a super light carrier but do run a Loki adjustable gas block. The 18" double fluted barrel with rifle length gas system will be available from Loki Weapon Systems in January.
  11. Seeing how I just bought it I hope to prove you wrong! I have the midway drag bag and it's been pretty good for rifle, shotgun, handgun, 6 handgun mags, a 48 round rifle mag, a coupled 30 and some tools (and sometimes some ammo). I've used it hard all year and although the zipper cords came off they have a little plastic keeper that will let ya put em back together. It's a great bag for $70! I'm actually quite surprised it's made it this far. I have some other much more expensive bags that haven't made it a full year.
  12. I've got Continental ContiTrac TR's on my truck. Handles great rides great and does very well in rain, ice and snow. I've got 78k on them now and about 15k left in them. I'll likely get another set since they do so well, I get pretty good highway mileage which I bet has to do with the harder tire. My F-150 had the same tires and I got rid of it at 97k with those tires still on it and it did great in the Canadian Winters/Rocky Mountains
  13. I like the Loki Weapon Systems 14.5" aluminum handguard and their carbon fiber 15" or 18" are very nice too (AP Custom).
  14. For the past cuple eyars I've ben running 69 SMK's for everything. I'm planning to work up a 55 gr. load this winter and maybe shoot 55's for everything next year. We'll see... The 69 SMK's shoot so well
  15. KC is a great area to be for shooting... Welcome to the forums and enjoy the weekdays & weekends of shooting fun if you can handle it all
  16. Jansen, sure wish you guys would consider bringing this 3-man 3-gun series out West Let's get one in Mesa, one in Sacramento and another in Idaho??
  17. Yeah, I've been in your shoes before... If I were shooting local matches that didn't require shots out past 200 - 300 yards I would buy the cheap 55 grain ammo from USA Ammo and run with it. I've shot their 55 grain ammo out of several barrels and compared to other 55 grain ammo this stuff was as good or better at an affordable price. If you're lucky enough to be able to shoot at distances out past 300 a lot than you better start reloading... Good luck on your decision
