  1. So a teammate finds 9 lbs at the AL Sectional just now and I am happy. That really is nothing when you load for 3 Open guns but its more than I can buy today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Hey Kurt In case you were running low, I stopped by to drop some off. C class? Come on man
  3. I'm gonna steal that post. This is so closely related to trying and trust. Trust your practice, skill level, preparation and plans. Don't try or hurry.
  4. So you go into field courses with jamming equipment? Sorry it sounds smart but trying to make a point. If you shoot stages with a different mental state you usually get bad results. For example do you have a local blazing B A or M that wins stages n matches but never gets classed up cause after his classifier run he say. "I just can't shoot classifiers" of course with a M NS or whatever. In a way he is right. He decided it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. don't over think things Load and shoot just like any other stage
  6. I use synthetic teflon type oil Breakfree LP. I don't use a recoil master or aftec. Doesn't happen to me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. As said above. They are better. I don't buy $100 shoes for the looks. The lacing system should be on every shoe but I think it's patented. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I disagree with telling people to buy guns because you can't buy your way to skill. Most people buy a completely different gun down the road and usually buy wrong making the buy right after starting without the correct experience and knowledge. Major Minor 10 rds whatever doesn't mean a whole lot to a new shooter shooting 55 sec stages with make up shots etc... I don't see a lot of people winning right off the bat. . Shooting the 9mm he already has makes sense both recoil and economically Plenty of time to buy a 40 SS if that's where he stays. I know most shooters go STI limited or CZ production or whatever a few months down the road. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I haven't seen any quantity of powders since Nov. We all wait and cross fingers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I wish I could get more new shooters to start in minor, especially new, smaller ones. Ego makes lot of people convert to major since they don't wanna be perceived as "less manly" Major/minor really doesn't mean a whole lot until you start running 60-70% of top dogs(even then it's not what you think). Somebody will probably chime in and say how they won a match with just major scoring. Ok I know people that can win matches with a Revolver and that is not a reason to convert to Revo in Open. What I am trying to say is 9mm is cheap to shoot(so you will shoot more the real way to get good) and it has less recoil so you can concentrate on shooting better and makes those fundamentals solid. Is this a absolute? No, of course but I believe that it is better to shoot with what gun you already got, then spend 3K to still be three places from the bottom. It's hard for a lot of people to appreciate or believe but it is the Indian not the Arrow. Assuming that your Bow works. Oh forgot SS minor is what I would do. Maybe L10 minor. Both probably mean more mags to buy. Here is the secret. Get training and buy some ammo. then buy more ammo
  11. Yep LS7. I hear a customized Ford GT went faster. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Peen or welding works sometimes. I see a lot of self fitters have a very scary safety. Or should I say non-safety. Make sure you check if it works. Cock pistol and put safety on and pull trigger. Nothing as scary as knowing you have been holstering a light single action trigger with no safety. Great way to get a hole in your foot.
  13. You should not even talk to the on deck shooter. I would never think about asking any shooter to film me. I don't mean your buddy that rode with you but asking some random squadmate? No way. I will say that filming does interfear with my match. Worrying about forgeting to film the shooter, dropping the camera, forgeting to push start, whatever, and yes worrying about not doing my part in stage reset makes filming shooters a no go for me.
  14. Prob should have shot him since it was a real match that counted and you can't stop yourself. Just kidding. Shoot around him and get your points. I would always err towards safety and fairness. I think a lot of RO's don't know that you don't have to bump or touch someone to interfear with them. I shot a match last year that had shooters bailing out of a doorway port on the right side of the house and running around the outside of the walls to jump back in and finish the stage at the far downrange port doorway, To deal with this (losing sight of the shooter) the backup RO's were dashing down the blind side of the stage hallways to "catch up" to shooters on the other side with primary RO in tow and out of position because he couldn't squeeze past the shooter ducking into the middle last position without touching them or getting muzzled. It was a doorway. Well I shot the stage straight up and let me tell you that seeing someone on a field course in the house is freaky. Yes he was uprange but I was running right to left heading to the last hallway at a 90 to backstop so we got very good eye contact as he appeared on the full run maybe 8 feet in front of me and just a touch to my left. He put on the brakes very well. I hestitated because of safety and it cost me time so I asked for a reshoot because it slowed me down. First the RM denied it but after interviewing the RO he allowed it. I don't think the RM appreciated that interference doesn't always mean touching. And no seeing spectators in your side vision on a 90 degree type stage movement doesn't warrant a reshoot. I know that I did because it wasn't a fair run since I don't usually shoot stages with people on them
  15. I am trying not to be too negative but ROing, pasting targets, setting steel, running and shooting in what was basically Wet Play Dough made the match not fun and take way too long. This would be a great great match with some regular type match surface. I'm not a civil engineer/excavator but I'll bet one shoots with us can help with the how to fix it It might be simple as grass seed but I'll bet it needs a grade and drain system. Everything else about this match is top notch.
  16. I think a rank newbie might not know the difference but after bit you see that USPSA is way more fun. If you are in to that sort of thing.
  17. Actually IDPA licenses several makers of "official" IDPA targets. A buyer of targets can use them for whatever they want to. Matches, practice, bottom of bird cage, making a dog house... whatever. kr I am announcing the newest vendor on enos. Bill's Doggie Style Houses. Custom, made to order, from genuine IDPA targets. Great just for your dog or setting up scenario type stages. Optional attached "feet marks" to verify flat footing during reloads. Ask for them at your favorite gun store today. Don't make us sit up and beg for your business.
  18. really one of the only reasons I made a new gun 4 or 5 years ago. You can always leave it off if it bugs you
  19. Leon was a great guy. Friendly and happy. We will miss him for sure.
  20. Humm I gotta make sure not to squad with that new guy. He is a proctologist.
  21. Around 30 and I hope to meet or exceed that this year. Of course majors get in the way. In a good way
  22. I knew Wally as a gentleman RO. RIP
  23. Bill I forget When and Where is the match?
