    I load 180's from Montana gold and bayou " green" bullets oal is 1.175 to 1.180 I use solo 1000 at 4.7. Federal sm.pistol primers range brass. They say the best powder is vv320. But solo 1000 has been great for my STI in 40 for uspsa limited I make about 169 PF. I load with a 550 great loader!

    Practice good form. It's is a lot easier to learn the right way than to correct a bad habit. I know I am I the middle of correcting some bad habits.

    Poppa bear you are right. Shot a local match today . Ran a stage my old fast way/ them watched my sights on the same stage ( head shots only this time) time was .02 faster when I watch my sight lift, It was a short stage 3 targets from a desk/ seated 4As & 2Bs. Good stuff.

    Don't clean it shoot it. Really that's a good cleaner.

    I spent this afternoon watching my sights lift. But I am going to have to slow down for a match to do this. Probably won't be a bad thing to slow down. Less C's and no D's might even out in scoring.

    Shot a friends last week. Nice production piece. Not a bad limited gun either.

    I shoot SS for a year before a found a deal on a STI limited gun. That year of mag changes with a SS made the double stack mag changes a cake walk, and I learned about breaking down stages 8+1. Ammo management. Still shoot at least one match I month with my SS.

    Bayou bullet 180 gr. Solo 1000 start at 4.6 1.180 oal.should be about a 168 to 170 PF .good luck

    Ss major is difficult but ss minor is like production only a better trigger.

    i shoot with Dawsons they have run great, still havent cleaned them this year
