  2. Bern's has an awesome steak - but if you consider that "fast" food, what's a sit down, multi-course dinner to you??? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> when i did berns a few years ago, it took almost 3 1/2 hours to get thru dinner & dessert. ended up late for the hockey game (burp).
  3. you guyz disappoint me...how about morton's or ruth's cris? or if'n yer in florida, bern's steakhouse. my kinda fast food...
  4. level of detail mo betta w/terraserver. do a lookup for piru, calif, then go a little northeast...you can find the steel challenge ranges...zoom in and you can see the shade structures and shooting boxes. cool.
  5. huh? wtf? as a marine nam vet, i would have shook his hand and had a chew. hope it was a stream of levi garret!

  7. have had numerous requests for the old stages, so i posted 10 or so here: http://homepage.mac.com/acog also have some nice ones yank price did for speedweek when the real challenge was in hiatus. i'll scan those and the shotgun & rifle side matches as soon as time permits and put those up as well.
  8. i saw some stages on matt's ar dvd, i was stunned...not only a ton of rounds, but i coulda swore matt was shooting a texas star with his ar in the middle of a multi-gun stage...that's sick!!!
  9. chet...pm me...i have them all back to 1984.
  10. Fla. man puts car ‘out of its misery’ with pistol Arrested after firing 5 rounds into hood, he says jail time worth it Updated: 1:41 p.m. ET April 20, 2005 MIAMI - Fed up with his troublesome car, a Florida man fired five rounds from a semi-automatic pistol into the hood of the 1994 Chrysler LeBaron. “I’m putting my car out of its misery,” 64-year-old John McGivney said after the incident outside an apartment building in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, according to a police report that listed the car as “deceased.” McGivney surrendered to police, was jailed on a firearms charge Friday and released on bond a day later. He told officers the car had been giving him trouble for years. “I think every guy in the universe has wanted to do it,” the South Florida Sun-Sentinel on Wednesday quoted McGivney as saying. “It was worth every damn minute in that jail.”
  11. 1-2-4-3-s mo betta...1st shot 1.5-1.6 and 2nd shot leaving box at under 2 gets you 4.7 or so...great stage...my favorite.
  12. think i'll just run a wall right smack down the middle, that way it will cost big time to do all shotgun first, then return to pistol to finish. thanx for all yer comments.
  13. just trying to get them to change-up to pistol in the middle of the stage, but start & finish with the shotgun. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I can think of no easy way to accomplish this within the confines of USPSA safety rules ---- and I might not even be able to under those (limited) tactical match rules I'm familiar with ---- unless you provide a "match shotgun" to start or finish the stage with....... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> no safety issue as the shooter stays within 1 meter of the loaded shotgun, which is where the table and shooting ports is anyway. as that is the furthest point downrange, no one ever passes beyond that.
  14. that would be easy, but this stage has no shooting boxes, we all hate that. this is an "engage as they become visible" deal. just trying to get them to change-up to pistol in the middle of the stage, but start & finish with the shotgun. the stage is here: http://homepage.mac.com/acog the 4 paper targets at the top of the stage are pistol, rest are clays and plates for shotgun.
  15. it's actually not an issue for abandoning the shotgun. consider an inverted V, where shotgun ports are along the sides and at the top of the v is the pistol port. a table there for dumping the shotgun, loaded, since you do not leave that position and are in control of it. shoot the pistol, then grag the shotgun and continu on to the other side of the inverted V. just wanna avoid finishing on the pistol.
  16. am designing a multi-gun shotgun/pistol stage. i'm attempting to force the shooter to use the shotgun, then the pistol, then the shotgun. since it's a filed course, i assume i cannot dictate first & last shots must be by shotgun. what other options might i have?
  17. todd...i think i remember seeing that...hahahaha...wasn't as bad as all them sticking on the seats of the bus while trying to exit. u doing 5 dogs tomorrow?
  18. mark's stuff is great...i've had that setup for some time...perfect...
  19. norcal (sacto) last thursday, $2.24 for reg, this morning,$2.43, at arco. poor saps using diesel are paying $2.69! and i'm planning on driving to bend and vegas...do the math and in some cases, even with a rental car, it's cheaper to fly. having said that, 3 gun is a whole different animal...this weekend's trip to bakersfield gear must weigh 100 lbs! it sux...could be worse...remember the primer shortage???
  20. here in the people's republic of kalifornia, we just add a tablespoon or two of WW 452AA to each tankfull.
  21. luv my accupoint, orange triangle. except for obscuring the targets doing holdovers for 400 yds.
  22. ok, this might get fun. figure there must be some videos out there of shooting screwups that would be fun to post. here's two I got on film years ago. get them at: http://homepage.mac.com/acog
  23. well, he returned on our soil today. was at the airport to see him. it was really great! many folks said things to him, which was nice. other than a limp from the shrapnel he still has in his back, he looked just fine. was heading to In & Out to pig out. he still is waiting for his purple heart. now here's a side story. can you believe the people's republic of california actually does something for purple heart recipients? hard to believe, but auto registration is comped for life (as long as you live in CA). that's a pretty nice bennie...
  24. patricia heaton, before the breast reduction!
