  1. well bruce, any more "firm" data on the 3 gun nats being in vegas in october??
  2. aha...class c felony..let's see, i could drag a single stack 27 oz steel gun and shoot minor...nah...guess i'll just get drunk at big beach.
  3. planning on vacationing in maui this summer...noticed an IPSC club on the island that shoots the weekend i'm there. have heard their laws are worse than where i'm at in the people's republic of Kalifornia. did some research and can't find much on the inet about firearms laws for hawaii. so, anyone have any advice? i'm curious about bringing a hicap open blaster there.
  4. really no way to tell. in my wife's case, the battery would charge to 99% or so, then go down to less than 15% after about an hour of use. even shows all 4 green lights on the bottom of the battery. i found this out on the apple discussion boards. is it the original battery?
  5. well, you've done all the right things (repair permissions, dump cache's, etc). is your ibook plugged in? if it's a dual usb, check yer battery. exact same thing happened to my wife's ibook. once the battery starts going, it doesn't matter whether it's plugged in to the power adapter or not.
  6. my buddy's son was hit in Fallujah last thursday. he's doing okay. you can imagine my buddy's surprise when he happened to look on the internet this morning and saw this: http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?g=events/...6&a=&t=&prev=15 how cool is that? sitting right next to the secretary of defense! what a christmas present!
  7. It’s called SlimP3 and Squeezebox. Made by a company called Slim Devices, these products sit at your stereo and feed anything in your MP3 collection on your PC to the stereo at full fidelity over Ethernet (wired), or WiFi wireless. http://www.slimdevices.com/pi_overview.html Ripping is easy with iTunes which is free for all platforms and will work with most players, not just iPods, just not as seamlessly. BTW, I don’t travel with, or own an iPod, but have setup a couple dozen clients and friends with iPods and iTunes software on W2K, WXP and Mac OSX. I prefer my PowerBook with 10k+ songs and the ability to play DVD and games even while I edit video pieces and tweak spreadsheets. I have to have the PC with me, so why have anything that duplicates effort, even if it is smaller, it’s just another parasite when travelling for me -- Happy Holidays, it's been out for 6 months...called apple airport express with airtunes. wirelessly play your mp3 stuff from your mac (or even a pc) to your home stereo...cheap, but very cool.
  8. ron was a great guy...shot with him for years...always, always was one that helped out at any range he shot at. we need those kinds of folks, and will miss ron here in nor cal.
  9. traxman...i'll be at the match tomorrow...introduce yourself (ask for butch) and i'd be happy to shoot the match with you. been doing this for 19 years and this particular club is real kick back. i'm sure your mag supply will be fine. i'm doing one stage and it will only be 19 rounds...the others will probably be 24 each, knowing the MD.
  10. corrected, too many pale ales...thanx. added area 1 3 gun as well...now if we can only get when the uspsa 3 gun nats will be???
  11. there is an updated 2005 shooting calendar at : http://homepage.mac.com/acog you can view it thru a web browser, or for all you Mac users, you can download it into your iCal app for local use. Updates will be made as announcements are finalized...
  12. Mountain, that's all you need to know...
  13. many years ago at the steel challenge in piru, a rattler appears at roundabout...this is after that days shooting. some brave (or crazy) guy catches it and proceeds to show it off to many. the guy turns out to be a snake scientist (whatever they are called). he insists on letting it go up the canyon (outer limits). anyway, suffice to say, a large number of shooters followed him up there and there was lots of noise shortly thereafter...a classic...
  14. bruce, while yer at it, any truth to the rumor the 3 gun nats will be in bend in 2005? c'mon, i won't tell anybody....
  15. i provided plenty of specifics in my post above. i've explained the mods to his handles, and outside of that, the tubes had no dowels at all. ammo was fiocchi power sreaders...what else do you need to know.
  16. c'mon michael...chronicle them all!!!! according to matt b, yer a legend!
  17. yep, that was "our" adam. i haven't talked to him since, so he may be looking for another benelli...
  18. lemme clarify the specifics...the tec loaders in question were the old style, modified with the relief cut. now, i will say this after looking over the midifications, the cut was not that much. when i modified mine, i borrowed a new handle from a buddy and tried to duplicate it. i also bored out the opening a little and chamfered the edges. his were not like that. as far as "upgrading" to the new handles, you can, but you have to buy the tubes and the pouch/bracket. armstec will not sell you separate components. the only way you can get replacement stuff is by shipping him the exploded parts...he won't even talk to you until you do. at that point, he has the evidence, so yer outta luck. i suggested to my friend that he take a couple of good pictures of the exploded tecloader parts, the trashed benelli, the shells, his shirts, etc and send them to armstec, along with an attorney's business card. that should get his attention. the armstec guy is pretty lucky so far.
  19. And that in many places on this tiny ball we live on.... it's UUUUUURRRRAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!! usmc 1971-1974
  20. Maybe he wanted to be in the military? OORAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!! semper fi!!
  21. witnessed a good friend have his benelli explode using a tec loader at a 3 gun match yesterday. this was an extremely experienced shooter who competes regularly in 3 gun. the round blew the tec tube apart, blew the handle in 2 pieces, and sent #8 shot all over the receiver. several of the shells were compressed into what looked like 2' long and very ugly. he was unhurt (very lucky), and the benelli needs to be looked over to determine if any of the internal parts got torched as well. after witnessing this, i can assure you my loads on the next stage were alot more deliberate! the only reason i'm posting this is this is the 2nd person i know who has had this occur, one with modified handles, the other with stock (older) tec handles. at some point, uspsa needs to consider this issue in terms of getting the manufacturer to define how to safely modify theee handles to avoid future accidents. it's interesting to me that they have been silent on this for so long now.
  22. am curious what "Max" dram equivilent is, in comparison to shotshells that are 3 dram. i assume it's more than 3 drams, but is that the case?
