  1. 1 week b4 the nats...gonna be a run on those chamber safety flags at the local sporting goods stores around reno...
  2. any truth to the "fact" that if you completely clean your barrel (say an a/r), the zero will change? sounds rather bizarre to me. think i'll try that tomorrow...
  3. they don't, but always have...not like we can practice a stage anyway...
  4. well, 2 weeks from tomorrow the 3gun nats begin...still no sight of course descriptions...
  5. ok...zeroed my 20" ar at 200 w/55 grain stuff...shot 69smk's and they were exactly 2" low at 200. no problem, dialed in 8 clicks into my trust leupold and it's now zeroed at 200. so, at 300, how much difference will i likely see between the 55's and the 69's? i'll be testing this myself in a week or so...was just wondering if someone has already done this...
  6. -------WOULD IT NOT BE GREAT TO TURN ON THE TV TONIGHT AND SEE G. W. BUSH GIVE THE FOLLOWING SPEECH..... My fellow Americans: As you all know, the defeat of Iraq's regime has been completed. Since congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is complete. This morning I gave the order for a complete removal of all American Forces from Iraq. This action will be complete within 30 days. It is now time to begin the reckoning. Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of countries which have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list is short. The United Kingdom, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, and Poland are some of the countries listed there. The other list contains everyone not on the first list. Most of the world's Nations are on that list. My press secretary will be distributing copies of both lists later this evening. Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war. The American people are no longer going to pour money into third world hell-holes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption. Need help with a famine? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France. In the future, together with Congress, I will work to redirect this money toward solving the vexing social problems we still have at home. On that note, a word to terrorist organizations. Screw with us and we will hunt you down and eliminate you and all your friends from the face of the Earth. Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try France, or maybe China. To Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Yo, boys. Work out a peace deal now. Just note that Camp David is closed. Maybe all of you can go to Russia for negotiations. They have some great palaces there. Big tables, too. I'm ordering the immediate severing of diplomatic relations with France, Germany, and Russia. Thanks for all your help, comrades. We are retiring from NATO as well. Bon chance, mes amis. I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin towing the many UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more than two unpaid tickets to sites where those vehicles will be stripped, shredded and crushed. I don't care about whatever treaty pertains to this. Pay your tickets tomorrow or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers, and limos be turned over to some of the finest chop shops in the world. I love New York. A special note to our neighbors. Canada is on List 2. Since we are going to be seeing a lot more of each other, you folks might want to try not pissing us off for a change. Mexico is also on List 2. President Fox and his entire corrupt government really need an attitude adjustment. I have a couple extra tank and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I'm gonna put 'em? Yep, border security. So start doing something with your oil. Oh, by the way, the United States is abrogating the NAFTA treaty--- starting now. It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own citizens. Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer them be saying darn tootin'. Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life around the world has only earned us the undying enmity of just about everyone on the planet. It is time to eliminate hunger in America. It is time to eliminate homelessness in America. It is time to eliminate World Cup soccer from America. To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thanks guys. We owe you. To the nations on List 2, a final thought. Drop dead. God bless America. Thank you and good night. "If you can read this, thank a teacher" "If you are reading it in English, thank a soldier."
  7. rich...believe me, it isn't that one...the ones i saw yesterday sit nicely under the arredondo speed funnel...the dmw would not. i looked it over for a minute and it looked dimensionally just like the tec version, held by the two pins (on an 1100), and sat right under the funnel. the hooks are what caught my eye...no way to miss those buggers!
  8. i don't think it was from dmw...that bracket is tapped into the receiver...the one i saw basically replaces the tec version (i know, there's a patent on it)...looks identical, except was metal and the hooks were alot longer...
  9. saw a few 1100's yesterday at a 3 gun match that had MUCH more aggressive looking hooks for the tec loader bracket. upon inspection, it was apparent this was not made by tec, and looked aluminum...the ones i saw were under an arredondo speed funnel, so i assume the dimensions were the same as the standard tect version. anyone know where one can find these?
  10. just started to read it, and noticed 2.1.3...steel minimum distance will be 7 meters! cool, been doing that at the steel challenge for 20 years, albeit with minor loads.
  11. now all we need is the stage descriptions to determine where all the questions will come from. gonna be interesting, but i can't wait for reno...
  12. whoops...let me finish the last post: 148 rifle 129 pistol 123 birdshot 14 slug 15 stages (2 single gun & 13 multi-gun). stages MAY be posted on uspsa site in a week or so...
  13. just got email from monte...he confirms round count to be approx: 148 rifle 129 pistol 123 birdshot
  14. anyone else getting a bit concerned? the match starts in about 6 weeks...no mention of rules implementation, no stage descriptions, round counts, etc...at least i have a room, but whether there's a match??
  15. rebarrelled my open gun and added one of bob L's pro sx comp (bob, it's sweet). anyway, immediately noticed a drop in velocity. chrono keeps proving the point. my load was 8.2 of n350 using 115 hp montana gold bullets. old barrel got me to 1,470+ fps...new barrel gets only 1,428 fps. the only differences are the old barrel had about 20K rounds thru it, and was a heavier comp. both have TJ holes in them. can i assume the difference is that the new barrel is tighter (i.e. it ain't shot out)? anyone experience this before?
  16. have had an eagle arms flat top since 93. beautiful rifle, and shoots great. but how do i determine the twist rate of the barrel. it's a 20', and the only markings on the outside of the barrel is "ss 5.56". i'm trying to decide if i can shoot SMK 69's & 77's. any ideas?
  17. ditto here...been a mac user since the mac se. running a g5 right now...nothing compares...i never have to buy anti-virus sw, and i can do whatever i need to. i'm thinking on porting ez score via java, but it'd been tough...
  18. lemans used to be worth watching, before the ruined the circuit and went back to underpowered cars. kinda like watching IDPA as opposed to Open division...bring back group C and get rid of the chicanes on the mulsanne!!!
  19. would suggest mahogany rush...much more like RO'ing a hybrid...
  20. maybe is wasn't clear on my post...i do have an ezloader on that 1100...i took an old receiver i had that i ruined by taking too much metal off the surrounding areas of the mag tube. i put the arredondo on it and loaded over 20 straight tubes without problems...without the ezloader. only other difference was the old reciever is seriously throated around the entrance to the mag tube. guess that's the difference, as noted by sahauptman. wish i hadn't ruined that receiver...
  21. for 5 long years i've tried to get tec loaders to work on an 1100. seen many successful folks, but i ain't one of them. finally broke down and got an arredondo funnel...guess what...no help whatsoever. in looking at the EZ loader, it appears that it does not go far enough down to allow for a reasonable angle for the shells to get into the mag tube. other than rounding the sharp edges, anyone got any words of wisdom on this issue? have tried 2 different receivers, and result is the same. midly embarassing, even in one's garage!
  22. got a case or supercomp to try as practice ammo b4 bend. and yes, the headstamp is the same as 38 super...in fact, i found about 11 out of 1,000 were actually the wrong caliber. i won't buy them again...primer pockets really out of spec, compared to starline...smashed a bunch. also, they sure seem to be less willing to flare at stage 2, which caused a number of bullets to smash the brass on stage 3. i did not change my dies from the set i use w/starline.
  23. saw it saturday afternoon, stage 13, a/d while reloading from box to box...definitely went way up towards the mountains...
  24. erik, u hit it right on the head...this is why the late dr. teller invented the h-bomb. would be an excellent way to document the physics model, don't you think. c u in bend, let's do beers at the local (there are many) brewpub.
  25. anyone see this thing? looks like it fits over an existing tec loader, not sure how it helps. will ask ralph soon. http://www.speedshooter.com/product_detail...il.cfm?ID=AASFR
