  1. That's a nice cheap way to get some steel going.. let us know how those plant hangers work out.. never seen that..
  2. Sorry to hear.. I think I only shot with Rick on my squad once.. but he was a great guy to shoot and talk with
  3. I think Chuck Anderson has posted he will be leading the investigation for the board....
  4. Anyone know the schedule for the match? First time we need to show up? Friday evening? What times we shoot? And about when it's over.. and we leave? Thanks.. Dave
  5. I'm not sure if it's significant.. but using small rifle primers gives me about 10-12fps over small pistol pretty consistently You'd probably need larger batch sizes to confirm it.. But that's not going to change to PF much
  6. I shot this the other day.. (got it Wednesday) Very nice scope for the money, it's on my 16" backup/night match rifle I think it has better eye relief than my Vortex 1x6 Need to get a throw lever on it, the adjustment is pretty tight
  7. I use TG for almost everything.. 3.2 gives me a PF of about 129 in that bullet in a G34.. OAL I use is 1.15 You might do some at 3.3 too, give you a little more cushion
  8. Finally got everything out (at least that I can see).. barrel looks good and patches with lead remover run through clean Definitely throwing the bore snake in the kit to run through at the end of a practice session.. usually about 150-200 rounds I bought 4K or so rounds of Remington back in 2011... at $16 a box of 550.. I'll just have to watch it, considering it's so hard to get here still I got sloppy. There was also a period (12+ months) that I wasn't shooting, and I had memory erasing drugs.. lol.. so the round count is a best guess Of the bulk 22.. any 'rank' of better brands? Winchester, Federal, Blazer?
  9. 30, 45 or 60 - is the most common I see.. regardless of rifle/pistol/shotgun 20 yards seems to be about normal with Shotgun 10-15 for pistol 100-125 for rifle,, but I've seen them further at Iron man Restrictions for shot.. I've seen max #6, which brought out Prairie Storms shells (in 2 3/4 or 4).. then that got relaxed since the PS was harder on the targets than 00 buck.. this year their rule is: "max shot size of 6 and a max speed of 1350FPS"
  10. I did the whole top with 2x4s laying edge to edge, then topped with 3/4" ply I would think 3/4" anything by itself is not enough if you could get 2 sheets of 3/4 mdf (or ply) under there.. I think you'd fix it. That same thickness can in 2x4s would do it too
  11. I didn't really pay attention.. but I'd guess in the 500-750 range? Could be the cheap Remington bulk pack bullets I've been shooting too
  12. I started putting in the lead remover last night, and just went through my stuff and found a very warn .22 brass brush, that I kept just to clean small parts by hand. Threaded that on, and with a few tries, it does go through all the way. Now that the barrel is fairly clean, I can see in the barrel a small area that isn't as shinny, so I'm guessing that is the lead build up. I'll keep adding some lead remover.. and running that brush through, and graduate to a new brush
  13. I should have said.. I can see down the barrel - I just can't see an obstruction.
  14. I have a Nordic AR Upper.. that I've started shooting more for drills lately, yesterday.. groups (I use that term loosely now) opened up to about 6" at 10 yards, and bullets were impacting sideways I can't put a 22 (ok maybe a dumb assumption - this is the same rod for a .223 AR right?) cleaning rod though it, stops at about 4" from the chamber. I can't even put a bore snake through it I can't see anything. I tried dripping down some Shooters Choice "Lead Remover" - no change Any thing else I can try before heading to a local gunsmith? Thanks, Dave
  15. In 40.. Over time, starting with a full Dillon Set on my 1050, I only use the Dillon crimp die now.. a Redding Comp seater (just so much easier to change OAL for different pistols), and the Lee 'U' die to size
  16. Sometimes.. and not very often, night matches is my current example, matches will only have 'Open' - so it is nice to start with 12+1 in those cases, and not have to change your setup ETA - if I didn't have a 24" barrel, not sure I would go that long, it would look too funny for me
  17. Should vs Must.. it's just a recommendation
  18. http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/pub/13-14/bill/asm/ab_1951-2000/ab_1964_cfa_20140324_091444_asm_comm.html
  19. If Pizza was health food.. I'd live to be 200 I'm going to at least 2 of these in the short time I'm there redial: I'll bring you back some.. lol
  20. Definitely give the Mesa/Phoenix area a look.. especially for 3 Gun at Rio Salado fairly straight shot down I-15 - for the 3 months or so.. it's good fit Nice dry climate too - not sure how Florida and Texas are in the winter, but I've been to both for extended periods.. the humidity in some places almost kills me
  21. Any one of the locations better than the others? (maybe more seating?) Lou Malnati's Gino's East Thanks..
