  1. IIRC, APW does plating work for most of the well known gunsmiths. I was always happy with their work that they did for 2 of my race guns.
  2. That's why I refuse to go to any more GSSF matches. It's gun point at you city, and no one cares because "they're just there to have fun".
  3. I live in Philly in Fishtown and was the CRO for stage 6 of the Mid Atlantic Sectional.
  4. Factory 18 rnd Shadow magazines fit the box.
  5. EGW used to make them. They might still have some.
  6. The old way was to squeeze the frame rails - the "new" way, which most competent gunsmiths have been doing since at least the early 90s, is to weld up the frame rails and then re-cut them using a vertical mill. As to how long the slide/frame should remain tight, it depends on a lot of factors such as how much the gun has been shot, the quality of the original slide/frame fit, etc.
  7. When I talked to the Surefire rep at Shot Show this year, he said that they are basically the same performance wise, just the one has the adaptor for a suppressor and the other one doesn't. You can always call/email Surefire and ask.
  8. Caspian, hands down. They actually make their slides, unlike a lot of other companies that source them from 3 parties.
  9. Mags don't have to be packed any special way. But, I always wrap them in a t-shirt or something so they don't bang into each other and get damaged.
  10. The sparks are the unburned powder. Same thing you see in a lot of IPSC Open guns.
  11. When you put it back together, make sure to use blue locktite on the screws.
  12. I shot the P220 10mm at the Sig range day at SHOT this year. Worked just like my P220 .45, just a bit more felt recoil.
  13. I am too (since high school) and didn't hear anything about it until the day before. Sad that the NRA didn't do any outreach to its members about it, especially since the match was 3 hours from my house and I would have volunteered to work it!
  14. A certain well-known 3-gunner took to his facebook page the other day and proceed to publicly bash the entire religion of Islam. Talk about giving people a reason to dislike/hate gun owners! Please lock.
  15. My SPO1 Shadow came with one from the CZ Custom shop.
  16. EGW used to weld frame rails. I'm not sure that they offer that service anymore, as they seem to be 100% making parts. But wouldn't hurt to email and ask - if they don't do it, maybe they know of someone who does.
  17. What's your budget? Just look in Brownells and you'll see comps priced from about $50 to over $200. http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/muzzle-devices/compensators-amp-muzzle-brakes/index.htm?psize=96 Personally, I use a Surefire M556K (which is now called the Socom). Surefire also makes a similar comp for about $50 called the Procomp that doesn't have the suppressor attachment.
  18. I use a ACOG TA-11 with an aftermarket flip-up lens cover - with the cover up it acts like a red dot sight and with it down like a normal scope. The eye relief is very forgiving and it has a good FOV.
  19. Google is your friend http://www.gunownersresource.com/?wpfb_dl=112
  20. Does anyone know of a cloud store that can be mapped like a network/local drive? I don't want to have to sync anything, rather work directly from the cloud folder. I have iCloud and a Google Drive accounts, but they don't seem to work that way. The Western Digital My Cloud seems to be what I'm looking for? The only documents that I am going to be working with are Word (.doc/.docx) and Adobe Acrobat (.pdf).
  21. Converted baby jogger stroller is the way to go. You can get a used one for about $15 and spend about another $20 or so on the ATV long-gun clamps and Bob's your uncle.
