With the MR762, you are paying for the HK name. It won't work any better than a .308 from Benny Hill, JP, POS, DPMS, etc.

Saying that one comp is "better" than another is like saying vanilla ice cream is better than chocolate. I believe anyone who says one comp is "better" than another is probably looking to sell you their latest wiz-bang comp.

The "official" gauge and the one sold to the public are *exactly* the same, beside the color. They both were made at the *exact* same time, on the same machine, from the same materials. The only difference is, someone made some incantations and, out of the pile of finished gauges (before anodizing), proclaimed some of them "official" and the others ones for sale.

At the 2011 USPSA Ltd/Production, there were quite a few ROs on various stages using improper range commands. One of the ROs got pissed at me when I sat there and wouldn't touch my gun after he said some stupid local range command. The problem, as I saw it, was that USPSA used *a lot* of raw RO's who had never worked a bigger match than their local club. I understand that they were short-staffed, but it was a noticeable problem (very, very inexperienced range officers).

Seems like the same waiver I've signed for every match I've ever shot. Then whoever is using that waiver is begging to get sued. That "wavier" isn't worth the paper it is printed on.

Whomever wrote the "waiver" form needs to quit playing lawyer.

Make sure to *thoroughly* test *all* of your magazines in *your* gun(s) with the ammo *you* are planning on using. Anything that is not 100%, get rid of it.

Gone are the halcyon days of the sponsored shooter making enough money in sponsorship and prizes to be a professional shooter and shoot matches year-round (i.e., that was their only job). As was pointed out, even the top 10 guys aren't making that much money from their sponsorship/prize money to live on, they have full-time jobs, most likely either working for themselves as a gunsmith, industry consultant, and/or firearm trainer or working for one of the big firearm companies either in marketing or R&D.

It happened to me at a local 3-gun match a few years ago (I posted about it on the be.com forum). Relatively new guy started handling his rifle (to show it off to his buddies) when others where downrange taping targets, sweeping everyone. MD was there and saw the whole thing, didn't give a %$^#. I never went back (I was one of the people downrange). Also to add, that if you witness safety violations not being addressed by the RM/MD, etc. I would not hesitate to notify the club's Board of Directors. If anything happened and someone got hurt, and the insurance company found out that the club was ignoring safety infractions, there is a very real possibility that the insurance company will deny any insurance claim.

There was a uspsa club in southern NJ that had all of their steel targets stolen about a year ago. The sad thing is that the range that the uspsa club uses is about 3/4 of a mile into the main range (which has a locked key-coded gate). So the thinking is that some member of the range drove their truck to the uspsa range, loaded up the steel, and drove out.

I was at the Riviera too and found the room better than a lot of places I've been too. The bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in, including a lot high-end hotels. Sure, the rest of the hotel/casino was run down, but how much time did you actually stay at the hotel other than to sleep? If you are complaining about the choice of the match hotel, then I suggest you call up Kim Williams @USPSA and tell her that you will take over that job next year.

Hmmm. The half-life of tritium is a little past 12 yrs, don't know why it would be going dark after 7. For new tritium ACOGs, Trijicon warrants the tritium to 15 years for scopes with the fiber optic, 10yrs w/o.

I'm not. I'm arguing that it should be irrelevant, because it violates the separation of powers for an executive office to tell us what the law prohibits and doesn't, because that is the role of a legislature. The ATF should not have the power to change the law by regulation, rendering what was previously perfectly permissible conduct into a criminal act. The constitutional implications of continuing to allow this abuse of our rights are many, and go beyond just the second amendment arguments. The one good thing that may come of this is that if they use this power stupidly to ban Saigas, a court may finally find that the pendulum has swung way too far. Congress delegated that authority to the BATF. Same way Congress gave other gov't agencies the power to enact regulations (such as the FCC, FTC, etc.). The Administrative Procedures Act is helpful to read.

With hard drives so in expensive (i.e., you can get a 1 TB drive for under $150), you should destroy the drive. Remove the platter from the drive and either shred it or cut it up with scissors.

Each Area has an official USPSA mag gauge. When they were made, the idea was that the gauges where supposed to be used at each Area match, as well as the Nationals.

I have a Leitner-Wise MOD.1 piston upper and couldn't be happier with it. I replaced the A2 flash hider with a Surefire MB556K comp and put in a JP low mass buffer.

I have a JP trigger that Benny Hill installed. I don't see how anything else can be better.

Nothing else like the Swenson w/ integrated thumb shield (meaning, no one else makes anything like it, I don't have one). They are in-stock at a number of places, Brownells, Shooters Connection, etc. Be aware that they require fitting, and a lot of gunsmiths charge extra to fit them, compared to other thumb safeties.

Call Evolution Gun Works. I'm sure that they have one that will fit.

I really love Mag Slick. I take the mag apart, wipe it down with a dry rag, and then spray the Mag Slick inside the tube and re-assemble.
