  1. If anyone in the Philadelphia area has a P7 that they would let me shoot, it would be very appreciated. I wound up buying the above-mentioned gf a Sig P220 Carry which is her primary CCW.
  2. Considering that the Kahles K 1-6x24i is $2,250 (some demos available for under $2k), the C-More has some pretty stiff competition. Personally I've never seen anyone use the C-More (besides TJ) but the Kahles is pretty popular.
  3. Kyle Lamb of Viking Tactics has some great books and dvds. Magpul likewise has quite a few good dvds.
  4. Having RO'ed at several USPSA Nationals, I've seen more than a few shooters who refuse/won't help paste and re-set targets over the years. Usually what happens is the CRO or RM will have a quite "word" with the person which usually resolves the situation. For the local club matches where I shoot, there are usually one or two people who are the "shoot and scoot" types who don't help set-up the stages before, don't help tape/reset, and are gone as soon as they are done shooting. The problem is that the MD knows who these people are but generally refuse to do anything about it, which hurts everyone who does help.
  5. I had JP build me a .308 AR a while ago (this was before they came out with their own receiver for .308). The guy on the phone at JP told me over and over and over again that they wouldn't make me a gun with a 18" barrel, that .308 AR wouldn't run, etc., etc., etc. (mind you I had just come back from the SMM3G match and saw many top level 3-Gunners with 18" .308 ARs running perfectly). So I gave in and got what they told me to get, a 20" bbl. Next year, JP starts making their own .308 AR and guess what, it comes standard with a 18" barrel!!! I was so pissed, I'm not sure that the person on the phone at JP knew what they were talking about when I placed the order. Other than that problem, my gun runs great.
  6. I really like my TA-11 because of the eye relief issue - I can have a bad placement on the rifle and still see the reticle.
  7. I had a battleaxe at the Nationals one year call the RM on me b/c I used my fingers as ear protection (I was in the on-deck squad watching). She didn't notice that the CRO on the next shared stage was doing the same thing (who was the same person who instructed my RO class) Can we get 5.4.1 to address this issue?
  8. I have a JP built DPMS 308LR. Besides the guy on the phone lying to me about bbl length (told me it was impossible to make a .308 AR with a 18" bbl work, despite the fact that JP started selling their own .308 ARs with that bbl lenght less than 3 months later, despite the fact that many top 3-Gun HM shooters were using 18" bbls at that point), I have been very happy with it. Reasonable price and very reliable.
  9. I like it how people call attorney's "parasites" and other choice names, yet can't find one quick enough when they need one, and then inevitably whine when they are told that the attorney will charge, like they were supposed to give away their time/knowledge for free.
  10. It's only unlawful for a debt collector to accept a post-dated check under the FDCPA. There is no federal law that prohibits issuing a post-dated check. Cite your source(s) please.
  11. You can't go wrong with either a Benny Hill or a JP AR .308
  12. Why anyone feels a need to jam a case that doesn't want to go into the chamber into the chamber is beyond me. Cycle the suspect case out and move on.

    HK P7 near Philly

Anyone in the Philadelphia, PA area have a HK P7? My girlfriend possibly wants to get one for CCW, but since they are out of production, it is difficult to find one in a area store. I should add that I am not looking for one to buy, just find one so that my gf can see it and possibly shoot some rounds through to try out.
  14. I was at the SMM match a while ago and the owner of a very large well known rifle manufacture DQ'ed on the last stage of the last day b/c they forgot to abandon their shotgun properly (could either be completely empty or safety on).
  15. I had Benny Hill install a JP trigger in a Colt lower that has the $#@! sear block. The drop-in triggers WILL NOT fit in a lower with the sear block.
  16. I don't use the forward assist - why would you want to jam a stuck case *further* into the barrel?
  17. In the past (at least 7+ years), I've never known a nationals where you could not just show up, pay the entry and shoot. They have always had spots open and (to my knowledge) never turned anyone away.
  18. Apparently happened quite a bit at the last (2011) USPSA Nationals in Vegas - but wasn't talked about much (except for one letter in Front Sight). Happened to *a lot* of people at the Area 5 Nationals a couple of years ago (break-ins at the motel and local restaurants). Took the Atlanta cops over 2 hrs to respond to one person's call of their guns being stolen out of their car at a local restaurant.
  19. ammoman has good prices and availability, but as a person, he's an ass (his store is not too far from me). He exemplifies the 'gun show commando' persona.
  20. What kind of 1,000 yd targets are you going to be shooting at? How big of a target?
  21. Just to add that I ROed the Ltd/Open nationals last year and both nationals the year prior. There were definitely greener ROs this year than last year. I saw people have problems with ROs both years - ROs acting like jackasses to competitors, but don't know the experience level of the ROs involved.
  22. Doug Koenig was using a Wolf back in around 2002 for Bianchi. Only problem is the thing didn't work, and cost him the match. Fixed barrel, blow-back action, very accurate, very unreliable.
