  1. We have the nuts and end caps made.......production is dictating the ability to make the tubes......hopefully, with in 4 weeks 20 gauge tubes for LOTS of different makes will be availible I am a FIRM believer inthe 20ga for this sport....less recoil, hold more shells in your hand for relaod.....more than enough knockdown power. the only drawback I see is a little bit tighter pattern............and if you really pattern the gun, it is not much different. So yes....the ONLY thing keeping people back is the accessories. My aim is to change that. Ask Cheryl about the 20 ga franchi she has (or will have back in a bit).....she loves it!!! Tim
  2. Most aftermarket bolt handles will fit both......our's will, as will Ralph's. Hmmmmm.....extrema = benellislayer??? All I know is, I fixed Cheryls' Franchi 620 shotgun today (the factory tube broke).....replaced that with a a stainless steel tube, so she will not have a gun become 2 at a match again. I am thinking, the Franchi 620 (20ga) may be that 'benellislayer everyone is lookin for......WITH some major mods. Darn!!! it shoots fast and reload 6 at a time super low recoil.....look out Kurt!!! Tim
  3. they will work on the remmy's but only on the nordic tubes. we are making the clamps now. I really hate doin the shameless plugs here. hopefully we are going to have a spot in the dealer's forum shortly. I dont have any pics yet...sorry about that. But trust me......They will not move on ya......I know slug zero is sacred
  4. about the only thing I've seen done to the 870 is that some people have 'forked' the tongue of the lifter so that a shell can be centered on it. Meaning when you load the shell it will be in line with the center of the mag tube, not to the left or right. The other thing I would do, and this is to any shotgun.......bevel the snot out of the loading area, make so you can find that hole in the dark with plenty of room for your thumb and any other part of your body that that is gonna go in there.
  5. If you are shooting a 590......grab 6 and load 6!!! THAT will give you a BIG edge in this game. Drop, push, drop, push. Those that know me.....know I can do 6 and I do not have big hands......its because there is NOT a loading gate. Basically the fastest, lighest PUMP 12ga shotgun out there
  6. I see no reason to change any rules in IMGA or USPSA pretaining to the use of the vertical grip on your rifle.....leave it the way it is. The rules clearly state that you can not use a supporting device on a tactical rifle.......soooooo if you use a vertical grip in that manner, and someone protests it.....welcome to open. If you are already going that and no one has protested.....you will eventually. Heck I thought why not make a vertical fore grip about 5 inches longer and then use it as a mono pod......NOT. Look at the rules, VERY clear already. Technically......and I am speaking technically, in the tactical divisions.....that would also mean you can not use your 30 round magazine for support either........ Is that just my view on it???......well, before you say anything......re-read the rules
  7. Yes, you can do the mod you are talking about.......look at the rule, it states "5.3 For purposes of this ruling, a “firearm” consists of a specific caliber, receiver, barrel, and stock and sighting system combination." after that.....you can pretty much do anything.....noting ofcourse, the sighting system stated in the other part of the rules
  8. You have an older JP handguard so yes you will notice that gas leakage deposits on the tube, very normal. When you are shooting that rifle, dont touch that exposed tube!!!.......its a little more than warm....one of the reasons why JP re-designed their handguard. Tim PS......had I not told you, you would have never touched it......now you will!!!!
  9. I like that.....so I am 'stuck using their magazines' uhmmmmm.....typically, if you want the best reliability, you use the manufactures magazine made for the gun. HOWEVER.....you can also use the stoner SR-25 mags at about $90 to $115 apiece and they work flawless as well. When I first got my 308, DPMS was not making steel mags yet, so I tried to get the new armalite AR-10 (M14) mags to work in the rifle. and after extensive modifications.....I got them to work about 75% of the time. I still believe you may be able to get them to work, but I said screw that and bought the SR-25 mags at the time. Now I have 4 SR-25 mags and 4 DPMS mags.......they all work the same now. At first I could only get 19 rounds inthe DPMS mags, but now can get 20 into them. I'd say if you want to save a buck.....and save your hair.....go with the DPMS magazines. Tim
  10. maybe...not sure.....does Kurt Miller use a Field model??? Sorry......I had too....it was bad....but I just had too.
  11. I'd play with the M2 field....get some tru-glo or equivelent sights for it to mount on the rib. It just seems the traditional shotgun set up is easiest to load, point and when you have to......aim. Pistol grips are nice for breachin doors, but I havent seen any in competition......yet. Tim
  12. JP just started making a bigger Bennie Coolie tactical brake for the bigger bore rifles out there. I believe it is 1 1/4" dia and a little longer too. Tim
  13. Seen them in matches......I believe Benny has one that he uses. My 590 that I use in He-Man is camo'd.
  14. I've sent pre-production clamps to Benny and now one to Kurt, for review......I suspect we will get on them right after Jarmo and I get back from the shot show. Possibly by Beginning of Feb??
  15. Nice lookin bling bling there.......would have given it to Kurt, but he likes things ugly.
  16. Unless they changed the inside of the cav arms lower (radi in the bottom) they may not fit with out some modification. I put in a standard JP in mine and havent looked back.
  17. From what I am feeling......that M2 is really soft compared the old M1. Ever consider the M2 in a 20 gauge?? talk about soft!!!
  18. you need to comparte apples to apples.....in a perfect world and in the real world if you take your existing 20" barrel and cut it down to 18" you may see as much as 50 fps difference. HOWEVER......depending on the tolerence of the bore, chamber....an 18" barrel may even show more velocity than a 20" barrel. if you are mounting iron sights on the gun and 'want' the longest sight radius possible, then go with a 20" barrel. if you are using opetics....it is a mute point....go with an 18" barrel.
  19. Nope.....not confusing ya......t'was the email I got from Berry. Damn shame!!!
  20. say it aint so!!! "Do to unforeseen scheduling issues; NTPS will not be able to host a 3-Gun as earlier planned. I apologized for any inconvenience, and confusion that this may have created."
  21. as funny as is it......I would say this story is urban Legend. I've heard this exact same story years ago with the new, most expensive truck/suv of the time.....AKA: Suburbans, Ford F350 dually's, etc.
  22. TRUBL

    Shred's New T-shirt

    Well DUH!!!....He'd use the wire
  23. Personally.......if HE-man is going to survive......we need to make the rules similar, across the board....not keep changing them for each match. If you want an optics......add it as a break out like currently is done in tactical.
  24. I wouldnt do that........lots of guys in the 45 to 55 that have the same eye problems as over 55
