  1. Right now? KAW valley bolts.......in the future.....someone will have better ones UPPERS???..... need to have their ports opened up about .030/.060 to clear the bigger case. BUFFERS??..... Some subscribe to heavier ones with high power springs......there are MUCH better options for the 45ACP round.....it is NOT a high pressure round, even compared to the 9mm MAGS????....not much out there for really high cap. ETS may or may not work for you......the South Korean mags are hit or miss LOWERS???.......NFA seem to work just fine.....as mags are an issue, sometimes you may have to sand them down to fit any lower. BARRELS????......no one makes a super feed.....but you really need to have the cone polished and opened up so that it will feed properly. I really think now that people all have their 9mm PCC's set up and mainly running......in 2023 more and more people are going to say.....darn!!! I want a thumper!!!
  2. there's got to be something else going on there......call me for sure. I've not heard of anything like that at all
  3. Good news......cutting the spring by 10 coils and adding the 2 pre-load ring is VERY close to the full spring with no preload rings.
  4. Interesting thing we've found out on the DBRS.....If you have too much spring and too many magnets.....It's gonna recoil hard. On the other hand......too light of spring and not enough magnets will produce the same effect. One customer did an experiment.....full spring, no magnets (which is basically a spring and buffer at that point) and then added magnets one at a time until he achieved what he felt is the best set up.
  5. Now there is someone who knows exactly why you need a bolt racker, any bolt racker on a Ruger........fingers have been pinched many times!!
  6. polish the OD......coat with red grease
  7. 308 spring? lies from the pit of hell (LOL)......so they use the 308 spring so the bolt/buffer doesn't slam into the bottom of the buffer tube......the problem however, is that you now have a ton of energy built up that sends that bolt/buffer forward....slamming into the bolt face. with some buffers......you can actually feel that the gun is 'klunky', especially with heavier weight bullets. The blitzkrieg buffer tends to work best with a flat wire spring that you can 'tune' (clip coils). Some will say you need to use a smally spring......overall a bad idea as most are using them wrong with no limit on the travel of that spring, they compress them flat and they end up breaking into itty bitty pieces making for a bad hair day. Some are gonna say, I've never broke a smally spring.....you will. What I should do is design an air buffer that can be used with the blitzkrieg and an A5 buffer tube. I've always told people that teh 3 top buffer systems are the hydraulic, taccom or mbx.......which one is best? subjective at best......don't believe these people that give you a 'brand x in for the win......brand y and z suck'.....mostly just fan boi's. I did pick up a scheel.....great concept!!......I have some reservations on its longevity.....others can speak to that. If it's good for 10K-12K, I'd consider it a good disposable system that may work for you!! Now saying something is disposable is not a bad thing, hell, the original AR officially has a service life of 12K rounds.....keep that in perspective.....not dissing that system at all (IMHO). I got one for an R&D project we are working on.
  8. If you had TRUE double feeds......your mags are junk. I suspect that you either had a failure to chamber or failure to eject.....pulled the charge handle and fed another round....making a mess.
  9. Send the bolt in.......no 14.5" but I do have a 13.5" that I can put a brake on......presently not listed on the website Tim
  10. So I'm sarcastic and really hate LRBHO on the AR9........due to the EXACT reason you stated!!! It really sucks to rely on something unreliable. Some work, and work well.....others....well, not so much.
  11. On the Aero.....you'd have to use their upper.
  12. I think in the first part.....you are talking about our Glock feed ramp......we pretty much state that it will not work with anything LRBHO. As for our super feed barrels.....they may or may not interfere with LRBHO......in the case of the FM9 and most others......all that is needed to be done is about .030" taken off the left side of the feed ramp
  13. Firm believer that LRBHO or BHO is not needed and is more of a liability in competition!!\ I noticed that the two ESSB's shown are older ones.......we figured out how to make them work with BHO and all....and all new ESSB's are made right!! So if you have an old ESSb and HAVE to have BHO or LRBHO here is the trick to getting that to work and feed!! Polish a little radius on that sharp corner. The ESSB was designed to be short stroked......if you are not short stroking, then you have to blow that away like in the above pictures so the hammer doesn't catch.
  14. I'm the guy........so when I say LRBHO is a bad idea.....I am saying that from a competition stand point. In USPSA.....you go to BHO anytime in a stage and you either didn't plan well....or for some reason, the bolt locked back on a half full magazine. Don't care if you are even in one of those states where you can only have 10 rounds......in competition: LRBHO (BHO for that matter) is a more of a liability than it is an advantage or helpful. If you start to tell that LRBHO is great for the 10 round states.....then you either can't count, or you need to work on planning out a COF before you shoot it. In Steel Challenge......well.....no need to go into that. In either of these competitions......when you come up to the line......you have your flag in the gun anyways. I'm only going to tell you what you need to hear....not what you want to hear......I'm an old guy and I just lay it out straight and simple Tim
  15. should be fine......I'd use masking tape....draw what you want to cut on the tape.....remove it, then use a finger nail file to smooth any sharp edges.
  16. no clue.....but it's worked with every mount and red dot so far Tim
  17. If it is a TRUE double feed....the magazine is junk, and it should not even be holding rounds in when you fill it.......that being said, I suspect you have a different issue.
  18. So on the GMR13........I believe that the magazine is closer to the barrel than most. That would mean you will need to grind the feed ramp back some.....the easy way to figure out how much is to look thru the mag well with that barrel installed. line up the front of the magwell and look down it. If you see ramp......that much would need to be cut back On the Stern adapter.....you need to remove their feed ramp bar on the adapter....one or two set screws. I am pretty sure that you'll be able to load a mag into it then......we've not heard of anyone having issues loading a mag into that insert as on that set up, the mag is about .200" back from the end of the barrel. If you have any questions.....call us at the shop, I can help you better then. Tim Most lowers, BTW...PSA, Aero, Spikes, NFA, GMR15 and others have zero issues like you mention. JP GMR13 and FM9 typically need to have the ramp cut back about .060"
  19. Seems like maybe a dirty chamber issue??? Does it go into chamber....but not completely? Or is it not even getting to the chamber? An occasional bore snake can take care of one issue.....the other, well....who knows
  20. https://taccom3g.com/product/cheek-riser-adjustable-buttstock/
  21. I've got a hold of a TX22 competition.......did the TK trigger job and the extensions. Actually put a 510C on it (yes I made an adaptor)....presently, I went back to the 507C. I have to say that while I've zero malfunctions and the gun is accurate.......I am not a fan and it's just not a good choice for steel. I also recently picked up a new buck mark with a factory aluminum shrouded barrel......for $690 out the door it is MUCH more of a pistol for the sport than the TX22, hell, it's drop dead reliable and accurate. I'd do a hard pass on the TX models......at the end of the day....they are a TAURUS. And they seem fragile.
  22. I'd recommend using the spring that came with the TACCOM recoil system......that one you are running is too heavy and makes your gun feel clunky. Who gives a rats butt how much carbon is on the spent cases......smooth is what you want. At most, use both pre-load rings that came with the system.
  23. Looks like you will be able to run more than just a 507K or Romeo zero on the slide in the future.......
