  1. I use Tampax Super tampons and a bottle brush. I also use the tampons on the barrel. I got some funny looks from Police Officers when I cleaned thier shotguns at the station. I was theier Armourer at the time.

  3. Yes. I did that with mine.
  4. When I teach an SO course, I give out business cards with the CORRECT commands on them and tell the candidates to read the card when SO'ing until it's committed to memory. John is on the right track.
  5. If you are referring to the EDC 9, it has a grip safety. Where does it say that the 1911/2011 is legal without the grip safety?
  6. That is correct but in 1908 the grip safety was added. If you want to compete in IDPA, you would require a pre 1908 pistol. Good luck finding one.
  7. The 1911/2011 is designed with a grip safety.
  8. If it's a 1911/2011 then the grip safety must work. Rule 8.1.8 (E)
  9. I was purchasing about 10K 147gr Xtreme bullets per year, until they gave up free shipping. I would get them when I was in the US. They are a very good bullet.
  10. IIRC the 135's were first used by people shooting 38 Super and it migrated down to the 9mm. For years there wasn't much, if any, load data for 9mm. Jeff Maass site http://www.k8nd.com/documents/hl38sup.pdf http://www.k8nd.com/documents/hl40sw.pdf http://www.k8nd.com/documents/hl9x21.pdf
  11. Until you go to a match where the steel is hard set and the 115's won't knock them down.
  12. I carry my oil in a flip top 2oz bottle. that Breakfree CLP comes in, in a heavy gauge ziplock bag.
  13. Rogers' bullets are always good, and good to deal with.

    P226 mag drop issue

Look for interference from inside the grips.
  15. I ditched my Recoil Master (RM) because it didn't feel right. A friend has an STI USPSA model and the RM broke and lock up his pistol during a match.
  16. I agree. Notice that he was demonstrating on a blackpowder rifle and cleaning from the muzzle without a muzzle type bore guide. How does it work on a modern rifle?
  17. I have a Silent Thunder and really like it, but the leather lining grips the gun making it a little harder to draw. As said previously, there will be wear. I was looking at Mark Redl's competition Colt and there isn't much bluing remaining.
  18. I did. Seems to work better than the original spring, which only lasted 3 years. I had a replacement spring in the maintenance kit, it lasted 4 years.
  19. The OP didn't say if the bullets were lead, plated or jacketed.
  20. Look at Alliants web site, there are 4 loads for 200gr bullets and Sport Pistol. http://www.alliantpowder.com/reloaders/RecipeList.aspx?gtypeid=1
  21. I've been getting ringers on 9mm Federal, IVI and few others for a couple of years now, as well as some .223.
  22. IIRC there was a gunsmith (I believe Austin Behlert) that shortened an Aristocrat rib and silver solder it to the slide of a BHP. I did see pics and wish for one. I got a BHP but never had the rib installed.
  23. I bought a spring and bushing from Level 10 Innovations. https://lvl10i.com/products/level-10-innovations-stainless-bushing-and-spring-for-dillon-super-rl-1050
