  1. Vortex Venom 6 MOA on a Warne mount.
  2. I have no experience with P-series mag safeties, but if it's a simple matter of removing certain parts, you can just reinstall them before you send it back in for anything. Just make sure that, if something else does go wrong in the future, whatever is wrong still happens once you reinstall the parts. Otherwise they won't be able to replicate it (and it may have to do with the parts being missing in the first place).
  3. I requested that this should be incorporated into the draft rules under 3.2. I can't find a rule prohibiting different ready conditions or start positions in the draft rulebook.

    X5 Blue bullets

I'm assuming you guys are all talking about 320 X5's. I don't have one of those, but here's my data for an X5 Allround with a barrel that slugged to 0.3565": 125gr Blue Bullet (0.356") 3.6gr Titegroup 1.08" OAL (I load short so they also fit my wife's PPQ) Winchester WSP Mixed Brass 20 rounds Avg Vel = 1056 fps ES = 38 Sd = 8 PF = 132 Before I started using the Blue Bullets, I was using Ibejihead 124gr at 0.357". I had asked Nathan at Blue Bullets whether he recommended I use their 0.355" 9mm/.38 Super, or their 0.358" .38/.357 bullets, since my barrel slugged to 0.3565". He recommended sticking with the 9mm. For comparison, here is the load data for the Ibejiheads: 124gr Ibejihead (0.357") 3.6gr Titegroup 1.08" OAL Federal #100 SPP Mixed Brass 20 rounds Avg Vel = 1067 ES = 55 Sd = 12 PF = 132
  5. Good point. I was reading the OP as wanting to put the Shadow 2 safety on another CZ. If it's an aftermarket extended safety you want to put on your Shadow 2, you have to make sure it's not too wide and still satisfies App D4, 7: 7 Maximum size, handgun and all magazines (revolvers are exempt) Yes. Handgun with empty magazine inserted must fit wholly within a box with internal dimensions of 8 15/16" x 6" x 1 5/8" (tolerance +1/16", - 0") (8.938" x 6" x 1.625") (227.01mm x 152.40mm x 41.28mm)
  6. It's to keep people from standing on wall stands, braces, or other supports outside the shooting area. Currently, if a wall makes up one side of the shooting area, but extends beyond a perpendicular fault line (e.g., you place a fault line short of the end of a wall to limit the view), people were standing on the wall stand/brace/etc and considering it the same as standing on a fault line.
  7. Per the February, 2018 update to App D4, it no longer matters if the safety is on another approved model: 21.6 Exchange of minor External components Sights, firing pins, firing pin retainers, pins, extractors, magazine releases, slide stops, thumb safeties, triggers, hammers, bushings, and ejectors MAY be replaced with OFM or aftermarket parts.
  8. I read through the changelog, which states the following: • New rule, 2.2.3.5, defining supports to be non-existent (wall feet, struts, etc.) I would assume "support" needs to be defined in the rulebook, if it isn't in the glossary (I haven't gotten to reading through the full rulebook yet). But it appears they are only referring to things, as Nathan said, not on the same plane as the wall. So if you have wooden or metal feet, stands, braces, etc, those don't exist for the purposes of shoot-through's. Although I seem to recall something else about people being allowed to stand on them if part of the wall they are attached to made up a boundary of the shooting area.
  9. The only thing I could find online is the spec for the picatinny rail mount at 30 in-lbs. Not sure that same torque should be applied to slide mounting screws. But for direct pistol mounting, it references some mysterious addendum that I can't locate online. MOUNTING THE SIGHT • The ROMEO1 is available with multiple mounting options – M1913 mount (compatible with M1913 Picatinny and Weaver style accessory rails), KeyMod mount, and a kit that provides direct mount adapters for a selection of popular handgun applications • M1913 mount: this option includes an installed M1913 Picatinny rail compatible low mount and a spacer block. The spacer block is provided to allow true co-witness with standard height AR/MSR iron sights (1.41” height above rail). When mounting the ROMEO1 for a true co-witness, remove the existing mounting screws that attach the ROMEO1 to the M1913 base. Position the spacer block between the bottom of the sight and the top of the M1913 mount, aligning the pins on the top of the spacer block with the positioning pin holes on the bottom rear of the sight. Align the positioning pins on top of the M1913 base with the corresponding positioning pin holes on the bottom of the spacer block. Using the (2) longer mounting screws, attach the sight, spacer block, and M1913 mount, tightening to 30 in/lbs. • KeyMod mount: this option includes an installed KeyMod compatible low mount for interface with industry-standard KeyMod hand guards and accessory rails. The KeyMod mount installs in the same fashion as the M1913 mount without spacer. • Pistol Mount Kit: This option includes mounting plates and dovetail blocks that allow the ROMEO1 sight to be mounted directly to the slide of many of the most popular handguns in the market, without permanent modification to the firearm. Detailed mounting instructions are included as an addendum to the manual for those kits. • The ROMEO1 is designed for use on a wide range of firearms (handguns, rifles, shotguns). Because the ROMEO1 has infinite eye relief, the sight can be mounted almost anywhere a mating accessory rail exists. The closer the sight remains to the bore axis, the better accuracy results you’ll encounter.
  10. The link includes revision summaries that show exactly what is changing for each ruleset. The summary for the main rulebook is 6 pages, and seems to incorporate a lot of the rulings and some of the "Troy told me..." items, like the barberpole issue.
  11. As long as it doesn't add anything that could be construed as a magwell or thumbrest, it's fine.
  12. I don't own a Glock, either. But I have about 10 Glock mags in varying sizes for my PCC.
  13. I mounted mine ahead of my primary dot because I like the primary towards the rear. It ended up out on the handguard in order to avoid the ejection port. Grady's picture above shows he has his primary over the ejection port and his offset behind it. It's mainly just personal preference as long as you avoid interfering with ejection.
  14. Usually because they had a bad run (malfunction, bad reload, forgot a target, etc), and want to find a loophole for a reshoot.
  15. I think you'll find the TruGlo will be very similar to the Warne. It's the GG&G mount shown in this thread holds the rail section much higher.
  16. KE Arms makes an ambi version of the lower I have. I linked to the stripped lower, but they have a complete one as well. http://www.kearms.com/store/p/885-Billet-KE-9-Lower-Stripped-clone.aspx
  17. Dawson for fiber optic sights, for sure. If it's a multi-purpose pistol and you want to swap for night sights, take a look at Trijicon HD XR's.
  18. According to IMDB, Jack the Giant Slayer (had to look up Ian McShane to find it)... https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1351685/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_23
  19. Considering they state the actual measurement, I don't think it's contradictory at all... "...is changed to 3 3/8", or the length of an overlay." For rectangular objects, length is attributed to the longer of the two sides, and width to the shorter. length noun the longest extent of anything as measured from end to end
  20. I think they would have needed to declare the rest of the stage as off-limits, declare it in all of the WSB's, and put up rope/tape lines 2' high and at least 2' out from the fault lines for this to be legal: 2.2.1.5 Off-Limits Lines may be used to define an area of the range floor which has been declared off-limits. The written stage briefing must identify the presence and location of Off-Limits Lines (if any). The off-limits area must be clearly delineated with rope, caution tape or other materials and must be at least 2 feet high and at least 2 feet from any Fault Line or Shooting Box. (See Rule 10.2.11). Crossing an off-limits line will result in a zero for the stage. Openings in off limits lines are allowed for RO access only; competitors may not use the openings to enter any off limits areas or move through the course of fire in a manner not indicated by the off limits lines. The lines are deemed to extend through the open areas. Isn't there an IPSC rule about not being able to run across fault lines? Sounds like the MD was trying to impose that on a USPSA match.

    P320x5 Carry Optics

^^^^ What he said. The rules just say you must have an optic, they don't say anything about having irons.
  22. Only as it pertains to having to shoot through horizontal or slanted slots.
  23. Got a reply back today... We are working on that in the new rule set, where it will be allowed. I've discussed it with the board, and they see no competitive advantage in paint or marks inside a mag well. Neither do I. I may issue a ruling on it since we have several months before new rules will take effect. Currently, however, per the ruling issued a few years ago, it's technically not legal. Troy
  24. Nope. I'll send a follow up email today.
