  1. just spray them with WD40 and drop them in the trash.
  2. The power factor in the USA when the 38 Super became popular was 170. IPSC power factor was 175. IPSC wanted the USA kicked out for not going with 175PF. By the 2004 rule book,IPSC has lowered Open major PF to 160, Standard division major PF to 170,Modified is 170, and Revolver is 170. Now IPSC is mad at USPSA for its 165PF for major, across the board. Personally, I think it is Nick Alexakos trying to get USPSA under his thumb.
  3. Mr. Carmoney, what is your opinion on replacing the leaf spring with a coil spring?
  4. take a look at www.theopticzone.com good prices
  5. after the first commercial I said, "what suspense? they failed!".
  6. just today I was cussed out on another forum, for daring to disagree with someone. I was, as usual, civil or perhaps even polite. The language that I got in return would make a drill Sgt proud. This 'person' claimed to be leaving the forum because of me and my 'arguing with me about every subject all the time'. We had exchanged comments on ONE other thread, one time. It occurred too quickly for a moderator to edit or expel the person. Although I am sure it will be done by noon today. I do like to 'come home' to "brian's forums". Thanks to Benos and all moderators!
  7. The Brownels sight looks like just what you want. Try it and let us know.
  8. Wow, amazing! My heart went all pitty-pat when I read 0.8" group at 50yd from a 9x23. I too have a 9x23 though not so accurate. I did install a Koenig hammer with C&S sear and disconnector though. By rails I too surmised Kreiger AccuRails. You did not say but is it a bushing barrel or cone? I am guessing bushing. I am sure you are down-loading the 9x23 for Bianchi. If you don't mind sharing, what is your load? That 0.8" group is a testament to your gunsmith and you, the shooter.
  9. I just looked at my 1050 setup. Why not just shorten the square tube holding up the casefeeder and shorten the plastic tube the cases feed through to the press?
  10. yeah, billet, high speed - low drag. Definitely worth $135 more. But wait; if I buy the EGW base, that is fully as functional, I can spend $135 more on a quality scope. Hmmm!
  11. when shooting single stack I always wanted 2 mags more than the minimum to complete the stage. I referred to them as my "oh sh*t" mags because whenever I needed one that is what I was saying.
  12. in a fire, primers would not be popping off. If they heated enough to ignite they would all go. Anyone who has had a primer tube or Lee primer tray go off knows how fast that is.
  13. at the very top of Ltd division, where the air is VERY thin, the decreased barrel torque imposed by the .40 caliber bullet, does make a difference in how rapidly a GM can re-acquire the iron sights and shoot another A. For those of us down in the flat land where the air is thick, it makes NO difference.
  14. i buy corn cob 'large pet bedding' material. I add Dillon polishing fluid. A friend used cracked corn. It worked well, left the cases shiny (corn oil?!) but it did leave very fine powder on the cases. It never appeared to affect reloading the cases though.
  15. there is a SDB in 38sc for sale in the classifieds. It will cost a lot less to buy it and change to 9mm than it will to shoot factory ammo.
  16. Accuracy Speaks makes a mount for M1/M14. You must remove the rear sight. Their web page is being renovated but you can find their phone # at www.AccuracySpeaks.com
  17. Anthony, I am happy to see you are reporting your range diary. I was IPSC director of my old club back in MI for 16 years. As a board member I had a key to the indoor range. I was also the security co. contact and Police liason. I used the indoor range during the day when it was not in use by others. In my best year I shot 39k rds. My draw was a consistent 1.2 seconds from an Ernie Hill 666 holster ( I use a CR Speed now). From 25yd I could draw and shoot 2 A in under 1.5 seconds. But that was 20 yrs ago. The indoor range I used was JUST a touch less nice than yours I found that the private practice time was much more productive than practicing with a partner. I could get 3-400 rd of timed/scored practice in about 2.5 hrs. You know what to practice; you train people so just do what you have others do. ALWAYS use a timer. Always score your targets. IE: at 25 yds I would draw and shoot 2 rds, then repeat. I had 4 mags on my belt and one in the gun for 40 rds. Since this makes for plenty of overlap on A zones I would count # of NON-A hits. I used the review function and recorded every time. Only with records can you see progress. I look forward to your range diary and hope to see you on the range by spring.
  18. for Cowboy, purchasing A revolver is THE least expensive part. Then you have leather, REAL leather, and clothes, and another revo, and a shotgun, and a carbine, and a rifle and more clothes, and a cart and, and, and, omg!! Go get set up for ICORE or USPSA revo, it is sooooooooo much cheaper.
  19. nothing to laugh at. It was state of the art in the early 90s. TGO used a P9 for a while. It is a viable set up. Have fun!
  20. '08 was better than '07. I hope and pray that '09 is better for all of us
  21. we have a state law named for a teenage girl killed by a moron shooting into the air. it is a felony IIRC
  22. Neo, maybe not in Scottsdale, but in Phoenix, Cactus and I-17, it sounded like a pretty heavy skirmish going on. With 82 million gun owners we are bound to have some A--ho--s but come on. That stuff kills people!!
