  1. My stupid bad habit is this, but to a greater extent.... pulling gun out too early before reload. On difficult shots I am fine, but when I pull out from an easy target, that last shot is often a D or a Mike... and it is the last round fired before the reload. whats the fix?
  2. Never had a jam in the thousands of rounds. Love my 9mm Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  3. Silverton is 'far' compared with the SunCoast ... far is a relative term .. is all highway. Silverton is in the corner of 160 with the I-15, probably about 20 minutes drive to the range. Haven't been at the SunCoast for a while but they changed the management company recently, they may have done a good clean up already. I may stop by and report back. would be quite awesome.
  4. If you're worried about air or room quality, compared to Riviera or the Orleans this place is much higher end. Not necessarily just the room, but the overall hotel/casino. I think I am leaning towards the Silverton... $59 rates and seems great... or just go the La Quinta or other route.
  5. Does not have to be in a separate locked container.... But the ammo does have to be in factory or the 100 round reloader boxes. No ammo can be loose. I had my gun and and ammo in the same brownells competition bag.
  6. Last year I brought along in checked baggage 550 rounds of 180 grain 40 cal. Did not get hassled at the airport... but it sure made carrying the bag quite heavy. Not sure I would do that again. Did stop by American Shooters last year, and impressed by their friendliness and professionalism. Will be shipping it this year.
  7. My only concern reading the reviews of Suncoast is the smoked out place. =) I hate the smell of smoke, and last year had a tough time at the Riviera... although the remodeled rooms were pretty nice. The Silverton seems quite nice. How far is that to the range?
  8. And there were other people and no one can agree on where the shot exactly came from. As the Stage designer, the stage was not symmetrical, and parts of the free fire zone were not at exact angles to the pit. it was not a clear 200% break, but probably on the border or somewhere in between. Without going into a he said/she said, it goes away from the original intent of the question....
  9. there was a specific case in FL at the Open this year, where I was RO. Shooter DQ'ed, but was told to reshoot by RM because the scores were not recorded before anyone came over. this specific case was me, and I have hte videos. I was told after i shot the entire stage, and after unload show clear about the DQ. it was a 180 violation, where it is possible I violated it. In any case, was the RM then wrong at Florida Open? More specifically. 10.3.2 When a match disqualification is issued, the Range Officer must record the reasons for the disqualification, and the time and date of the incident, on the competitor’s score sheet, and the Range Master must be notified as soon as possible. 10.3.3 Scores for a competitor who has received a match disqualification must not be deleted from match results, and match results must not be declared final by the Match Director, until the time limit prescribed in Rule 11.3.1 has passed, provided no appeal to arbitration on any matter has been submitted to the Range Master (or his delegate). Is what was referred to me, along with something else when I was down there.
  10. So just one procedural or per shot penalty?
  11. No ammo in the same plastic case as the gun, but the gun case, and ammo can be in the same piece of luggage. i have an MGM case where I put the gun, with a regular combo lock. Ammo is already in my checked bag. go to check in counter, and tell them you need to declare an unloaded firearm, and they will tell you procedure. Some airlines had me fill out the form and put it in the gun case, others did not even care to see it, and wanted the gun tag somewhere in my bag. Some will have you wait. Las Vegas, I waited at the counter for TSA agent to come and clear the bag, and just gave me the ok, they ran it through xray. Orlando, I took the bag to TSA screener who manually checked the bag, but did not open the gun case. ACY, PHL, they just said go ahead, and they would call me if any issues. Not once did they ask to have it unlocked, and my lock is not a TSA lock.
  12. Just a note from NJ. NJ will not be an issue unless you leave the airport with the gun, otherwise, no issues. NYC, is absolutely a no no, and they do not recognize any laws. The only way to get a gun out of NYC is with a NYC firearms license.
  13. yep, they use your top four, then your 5, then 6, then best 6 of our last 8.
  14. congrats. Disney is cool, too bad it is soooo damn expensive. A daily park ticket is what a season ticket to six flags goes for.
  15. Prayers for you and your family Chris.
  16. Yep, I know those would work, only thing is, since I do not need extra capacity, would hate to spend $35 per basepad, just to make the mag work. In any case, took out the dremel and trimmed the STI basepads and after some time, got 3 of them working... but now I have another issue.... and I am new to the 2011 platform so bear with me... 3 of the magazines with basepad off, just the tube, will not lock into the gun with the slide closed. With the slide locked back, they will lock into place, however when I release the slide, it gets caught up somewhere and will not go into battery/closed. Is this the dreaded "must tune sti mags" ? Gun came with 4 mags, 3 svi and 1 sti that run like champs, however these are the first 6 mags I acquired personally.
  17. My bad. I had to use the stock sti pads with 124mm tubes and they work fine on my sv. Can you take a pic of the basepads? did you have to modify them? Original SV magwell?
  18. Was reading some past threads and recall seeing that DAA will not work with SVI magwell. The ones that come with magazines? Do not work, got 6 of them. =) They work with a Brazo's magwell, but not the stock SVI one. It is an option, but would prefer to keep SVI magwell if possible. I may have to do that. Only issue would be the mags would be in the magwell, so can probably add something to add length to them to seat them easily.
  19. Hey guys. Need some help before I go spending hundreds of dollars on basepads. I have an SVI infinity 40 call with polymer grip and Sv magwell. Being in NJ, with a 15 round limit, the stock magazines from STI are perfect. Only issue, stock basepads don't work with SV magwell. I have 6 magazines all stock. I have tried the Dawson wedge ipsc pad and still does not seat. What are my options? I don't need capacity as base mags already at limit. New magwell and basepads? Or what basepads work with sv magwell?
  20. How were these different from the new ones out now? I ran across one recently in open configuration.
  21. Thanks Glenn. I have two more bundles that just came and I am done. There are airsoft BB's all around the office. ooops.
  22. Is this an early april fools joke? WTF would possess a company to do this. Next there will be a 4022.... two 2011's welded together. wait, how about two Desert Eagles welded together. 45 ACP is for pansies.... two 44 magnums, or 50 AE, or better yet, a double barreled Smith 500. [edit: lets keep the vids with pie eating lyrics off the forum...mkay?!]
