  1. you know, you can leave the extra ammo in the car and get it during a break. =P Typically 250 to 300 for a local match, 2x the count for major matches. ran really close last year at nationals, this year... brought 800 for the match... shipped about 500, brought 300 with me.
  2. One thing to keep in mind... RO traps. Tight tight stages will be tough on the ro to keep an eye on the shooters gun. So you can make the shooting lane small, but not have the walls right there for the RO to get stuck behind the shooter, and have to look over the shoulder to see the gun. Btw, the Akai stage at Area 8 was awesome to shoot.... here is a video of it. the Akai stage is the last one on the video, was taken with cell phone so no sound.... however I also really liked the 1st stage. In fact, I loved all of the stages at Area 8 this year. No swingers and not a lot of steel, just a fun match.
  3. Brian, where do you live? Sorry to hear you were displaced. If you want to drop by Princeton, my office is open, come relax, hang out, watch tv, drink coffee. Might even pick up a PS3.
  4. Your club is the only one I hear people complaining in this manner. Maybe people don't want to do anything extra to help you guys because the people at your club are the least friendly in the entire section, or possibly all of Area 8. The later you start, and the longer (5 weeks) it takes to get results posted, and the fact you don't upload scores to the USPSA website just further turns more and more people off from wanting to volunteer. I don't blame people for shooting and scooting if that is the kind of product that is being offered. Shoot and scoot is not a problem at the club, neither is help during the match for the most part. My issue is stage setup while a few will always sit on their bums complaining. Don't get me wrong, it is a few of the same people, not the people who consistently come out and shoot at other clubs. As far as results... they are typically up within a week unless the person doing the scores (me) is away and someone else does them. But in any case, since when did USPSA turn into.... I will offer to help only if I like the way everything is done? The other option is..... there is no match. Much like the match that is this coming up this week, questionable if it will be here due to a number of MD's still without power. Quite Frankly, being MD is a thankless job for a club the size of CJ, where we have anywhere from 60 to 90 shooters on a consistent basis now.
  5. The thing that bugs me most... is people bitching at registration why the match does not start on time at 10am. Obviously the match staff are taking as long as possible because they want to waste more time at the range. Tear down is pretty good, but it is tough to consistently get 6 quality stages designed, and enough people to come show up early and help. Best of all, the shooters that come, see you working on the stage, do not offer to help, and at the same time, go around to look at the stages before the match starts. lol. I get it from both sides... but local matches are all volunteer.
  6. really cool. What was the photo delay set on?
  7. Lol, read this thread as I am working on a stage design for our next months club match. 95% of the time, unless I am out of state at a bigger match or traveling, I am a helper. I think the only match where I was a consumer was my first two matches.... then I helped. In any case, at all of our local matches, it is the expectation that everyone puts away the last stage when you are done shooting. You will have 90% of the people help put everything away. Setup in the morning is a bit pain in the butt. I shoot 3 local matches a month, 1 of which is my local club. I will design a stage, RO the squad, and put away the stage with others help. At the other two matches, I will at least RO the squad and put away the stage at the end, as the other local clubs are quite a bit further away, with one being an hour and a half without traffic, however I still make sure to give back to the club, and they can always count on me to RO on my squad. The only match where I did not RO or put away was Nationals this year. lol. But that is what the big fee was for, but in any case, always made sure to help paste and set steel. I do feel it takes a bit away from the shooting if I work, but at the same time, designing stage and RO'ing helps me as a shooter in different regards. And..... we still pay for the matches.
  8. Wise choice, and the benefit... it is significantly cheaper over other 45 ACP guns. Small frame glock with 45 power.
  9. How is a 45 cheaper to reload than a 9mm? GAP will have a higher bullet cost and the SIG will have a higher powder cost so they should be about the same cost so far and you can make SIG brass from .40 brass easily and 40 brass is about as cheep as it gets. to the OP's question the SIG is a Hoot and you can load it anywhere from a plinker on up ear splitting muzzle flashing monster. the bottle necked case is not the problem people think it is to reload. Mike Should of add, cheaper to reload over 45 ACP. (small vs large pistol primer, cheaper cases as more from LEO, slightly less powder) Bullet cost will be more than the 9mm cal for 357 sig.
  10. I went from the Tanfo Limited to the SVI. With smaller hands, the SVI is just faster for me. Furthermore, my SVI is pretty damn light. =P I just feel it returns to target quicker than all of the weight on the tanfo.
  11. I really like the Glock 37, and my XD in 45 GAP. The Pros: 1. Better feeling shooting caliber, not as slow in recoil like a 45, but not as snappy as a 40. 2. 230 grain loads are avail. 3. Uses a Small Pistol Primer (no need to change over press, especially if you got a dillon) 4. Plenty of brass around and it is still a straight walled cartridge over the 357 sig. 5. It's a 45. 6. 45 Gap was readily avail during the last gun rush. 7. Cheaper to reload. 8. Uses 45 ACP dies, so no need for new dies if you already have a 45. The Cons: 1. Not every place carries 45 Gap if you do not reload.
  12. Thanks. Planning to do one for L10? =P
  13. 135 FMJ? I used WSF, I believe the load was 5.0 of WSF.... will have to double make sure, but that was for 124 grain.
  14. So is N-320 wst_n320.pdf The savings are now down to -$40.91 for that 10K rounds... Later, Chuck Absolutely, the price in powder is minimal in the grand scheme of things, but it is about 35% more expensive for the powder itself. 1.5 cents vs 1 cent in powder really is not huge, but on a percentage basis it is. Secondly, I can get WST/WSF and almost any powder besides VV locally, so no shipping and no hazmat.
  15. Other thng to keep in mind, if you are buying powder by the larger jugs.... WST is quite a bit cheaper.
  16. replied in pm, but will post here as well. 4.9 grains of n320 at 1.180 or 1.175 They worked extremely well at Nationals and will be switching to them for all shooting.
  17. N320, although I have shot WSF before, and have WST on my shelf to try.
  18. Aceofsales. Will edit this post for details and 30 day trial. Very cheap and easy to use. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  19. I view local matches and even bigger ones... as not just about shooting. It is part shooting, part watching others shoot (sporting event), part camaraderie and meeting up with friends (hanging out and or networking) So it is 5 hours of an event.... not just 2 mins of shooting.
  20. Its like 5 hours of foreplay for 2 mins of ..... ?
  21. Maksim

    CZ Accu-Shadow

So will it still be Production legal? Completely different trigger? Seems like a new gun under the same label
  22. The new Safariland 014 is an amazing holster and works with the Tanfo's as well as SVI/STI, CZ out of the box. Love it love it love it after switching from CR Speed
  23. Sorry bud, was shocked to see it in the results, and came to find it here.
  24. Is it possible to get a download link for those videos? We can view them that way then. However not streaming through the site.
