  1. I was n teh squad with Lesgar Murdock and he shot it like you did, and was really fast. while I was watching it seem like the trap was qucik, but I found that when I tranitioned after the popper that I actually had to wait for it. I guess that's the top guys are willing to take risks to be faster, and I'll always be sort of conservative. That and they are a whole lot more accurate.
  2. There was a stage at last weekend's Gator classic/Area 4 Championship called "Really Fast" that was eight rounds: One popper that activated a Max Trap, which activated a clamshell, and then another opper and a stationary paper target. I hit teh popper/activator, got two hits on the Max Trap, got two hits on the clamshell, hit the second popper, and then got one A and one Mike on a stationary metric! I got greedy and thought tom myself I got this, after hitting the first three and I can go faster. No. I couldn't.
  3. Bill, I got a good picture of the shirt you sent me against one of the stage walls at the Gator Classic on Sunday. My buddy took it with his iPhone and as soon as he sends it to me I will e-mail it too you. About 20 guys asked me where I got the shirt and I gave you username from the forum. Thanks again, Gerald.

  4. Went through Elena, Georges,Katrina and Isaac as a police officer. You never realize until after it hits you had no idea what you would need, and not be able to get after the storm. I will say a prayer for you guys in teh northeast, because I do have an idea what you will face.
  5. What redial said! OOOOOOOOOOOORAH.
  6. Man, this was fun. I got to shoot in the squad with Lesgar Murdock, and it was a pleasure to watch him shoot. On Friday I watched some of the other GM's shoot. Talk about fast and accurate! Congtatulations to my friend Gerwin Henn for winning B Class Limited. I got lucky on the chrono. First shot was waaaay low, second about right, and the third was waaaay high. One chrono showed an average PF of 164.5, and the second read 165.5. The chrono official rolled his eyes at me and made a comment about living dangerously.
  7. "Everything good and bad comes from your mind. To find something beyond the mind is impossible. CHINUL "All that we are is the result of our thoughts; with our thoughts we make the world. If a man speaks or acts with a harmful thought, trouble follows him as the wheel follows teh ox that draws the cart. All that we are is the result of our thoughts; with our thoughts we make the world. If a man speaks or acts with harmonious thought, happiness follows him as his shadow, never leaving him." 8. I do a lot of loading on a Lee single stage press, and with the Lee tungsten carbide die. I normally I crank the sizing die a wee bit tighter than the book says. I load 40's for Glocks and STI's. In over 10,000 rounds I have had exactly three bad rounds, with one eing in my last match. That was my fault because I got lazy and did not chamber check the ammo. I got lazy because it had been so long since the last bad round. so up comes a classifier match and guess what? That was my fault for sure.
  9. If you will check, most copper removal chemicals that contain copper reccommend that you do not use ammonia on stainless barrels. I shoot with several long range shooters that tell me the same thing.
  10. I run the same load in the 6" as I ran in the 5". I get a little more velocity, but i actually like the load better in the 6". I am shooting a 185 Precision Moly over WSF.
  11. I don't know about sight trackers, but my 5" tri topped slide cracked and a friend sold me a 6" tri topped gun that had been lightened and was a couple of ounced lighter that my 5". The difference to me was amazing. I much r preferred the 6" and my transitions were faster and my shooting more accurate. the whole gun just "felt" better. check with some of the people at you range and see if you can try a 6", you may like it.
  12. Not exactly unknown, but the best guitarm show I ever saw (besides Hendrix in old Tulane Stadium in 68 or 69) was the G3-03 tour in the Saenger Theater on 4 November 2003. Joe Satriana, Steven Vai an Yngwie Johann Malmsteen. the Saenger is a very old theater, and when YJM was doing his electronic feedback out of all those Marshall Plexi's, bats were keeling over in the attic from teh high frequency squeal. Loud, but man there was some pickin' going on.
  13. Do any of you guys remember the suzuki T-500? Big two cylinder two-stroke, adn you could change teh shifter to teh right side, so we even considered it for as flat track bike. Then there was the famous (or infamous) Syzuki RE-5. A Wankle engine in a motorcycle. But man, it had some power and was smooth.
  14. Precision 185 grain moly, over 5.0 grains of WSF at 1.185 OALout of a 6". 167 or so power factor in the 90's,a little more in the 50's.
  15. 50/50 mix of Shooter's choice and Kroil. Benchrest shootershave been using to for years. for a really "coppered" barrels, I use Sweet's 7.62. Caution: use in a well venilated area, and do not leave in the barrel too long as it contains ammonia. Most shoots will caution you not to use it on stainless barrels. In a case of a stainless barrel that was so fouled it wouldn't shoot well any way, I used the Sweet's but kept it in the barrell for 4-5 minutes before swabbing out with alcohol patches.

Extra Large; Thanks man, for having s sense of humor.

  17. Thanks Merlin. I have been getting all kinds of weird crap from Google Chrome also.
  18. I've got a couple of 100 yard groups about that size. Of course they are .308 holes, and were shot with about $5,000.00 worth of rifle and several thousand dollars worth of scope. With a pistol I have days that I would have been get three hits on the white circle.
  19. That target would be a piece of cake for me. All I would have to do is put the front sight on the black stripe, and then jerk teh trigger like I usually do. REsult, easy C zone hit.
  20. What Sarge said, generall referred to as the quarter-homie, or the half-homie.
  21. I never raced it, but I had Honda hurrican in the mid 80's, the 500 cc screamer. also in '74 or '75, we put a Yamaha RD-350 two stroke twin into a Champion frame and flat tracked the snot out of it. Almost all the local short track guys were using Kawasaki KX-350's, o0r the Aeromacchi made Harley Davidson 350's, with a cattering of Bultaco Astros. The RD350/Champion did not corner as wellm as some, but it screamed down the straights. A friend from New Orleans was running a KZ-750 two stroke triple in a Champion frame. Even mon a track full of four stroke Harley XR750's you could hear him coming up behind you. Yes, he ususally passed me at least once a race. I even had a BSA Victor flat tracker for awhile. For those of you that are yunger, the Victor was a 441cc four-stroke single. I think they invented the term Thumper for that bike. Lifeislarge, thanks for the post. It really caused me to reflect on some fond memories.
  22. I've been using Kimber Pro Tac mags in my gold combat for 6 or 7 years with no problems. I did have some problems with a McC Power Mag, but it was a used mag. I was also given a 10 round Mccormick that works fine with no problems in the Kimber.
  23. Well, yesterday I finally "pulled the trigger" and called Shay Akai and ordered a new 6" Samurai Limited pistol. I going to be like a kid just before Christmas until it is completed.
