  1. Al, You know MY answer. 4756. I've got almost everyone switching. 8.4g, 124g MG JHP, load to 1.235. You just want me to load you up some more, don't ya? -Mike
  2. Damon, Not shooting the DTC this year, so I won't be there this time. Best of luck to you! -Mike
  3. Yeah...........switched to the Smith & Wesson M&P and the problem went away. -Mike
  4. Area 4. The Dec match. 26 degrees. COLD. Titegroup. ( For those who say it isn't temp sensitive, I say "read this"!) Chrono 164.97. MINOR. Go back later in the same day after it warmed up and re-chrono'd, for piece of mind. 166. Major. DOH! Lessons learned: don't cut it so close to the PF ( my chrono showed this at 169, but it was a shooting chrony--not an infrared CED) and make SURE you know your load under all conditions Switched powders to VV n320 after that......... Of course, I shoot Open now and make 174 easy. Comp likes it. No worries on minor, either!!!! -Mike
  5. Resolution for year was pick a gun and stick with it.......... so far, 3 months and haven't broken it. Open for me.
  6. Shoot both, pick which one feels better for you. Practice a lot with it. It's tough to ask people opinion, it's a lot of the Ford. Vs. Chevy Vs. Dodge thing...... get what works for you. And the answer is DODGE of course, HEMI power. ;) -Mike
  7. I've found that SingleStack ( the good ol' 45) and Open, believe it or not. I was getting pretty bad tendonitis shooting Limited 40, and now it's all but gone away since I made the switch. -Mike
  8. Just another quick note: if you haven't already purchased the Glock, give the M&P a serious look. I'm a southpaw, and I have one and that's one of the features I like best....... plus the interchangeable backstrap. Good option to think over. Best of luck! -Mike
  9. If I see Ken this coming weekend at Tyler's match, I'll grab him and try to get an update. -Mike
  10. I try and clean my open guns about once a month, or 500 rounds, whichever comes first. Field strip, usually. Every 1000 rounds or so will pull firing pin, extractor, etc. Total breakdown--- I have my gunsmith give my guns the once over about twice a year. -Mike PS...I'll admit to not enjoying to clean guns.
  11. They sold me a replacement unit at their dealer cost..........which was about $425, just FYI........... -Mike
  12. Weather is looking 'iffy' right now, might not hurt to call and check before making the drive...... -Mike
  13. Don't you mean, "...again." Of course, my mistake............ LOL
  14. This is like Ferrari vs. Lamborghini. Pick one. Enjoy. Don't over-think. Dave & Bob both have great stuff.... it's a good 'problem' to have. Check availability, and go from there. Let us know how it ends up! -Mike
  15. Looks like a great match. Congrats to all the winners! -Mike
  16. Damn, Al....... you'll be the sharpest dressed person on our squad next month! ;) -Mike
  17. Here is a little spin on it.......... if you want to 'cross train'........... use the same gun. If you are shooting a G35, you can do that easily..... but no matter which model, you've got the option. Shoot Limited Minor, etc......... that may be the most helpful. I 'division AND gun switched' all last season........ and it did not help my shooting at all. My only New Year Resolution this year was to shoot one division all year and see how it goes. I decided to shoot my Open gun, and leave the plastic on the shelf for a while. I felt like, as Merlin said, "Jack of all trades, and Master of none". Oh, one other thing--- make sure you are having FUN. If not, re-evaluate. -Mike
  18. The several times I've come across this issue, a Brazos tuned extended ejector has fixed the problem, just FYI.
  19. I wanna play! I wanna play! I have THREE open guns......... and my AND the wife both shoot Open. What cool title can you convey to me, Jamie? -Mike
  20. Very nice Dave. You made a wise decision. I've always liked Bob's stuff, hence why the wife has one. -Mike
  21. Funny enough, that was my first thought after watching it, too. Todd seemed to be enjoying himself, too. Good stuff!

Congrats on the SS win today........ you were even complimented by how well you shot by your chief competitor. Nice job! All the work is paying off............ -Mike
  23. Lee has been kind enough to set this up for our club and do our scoring lately. It really IS the coolest thing. -Mike
