  1. All I have to say is move to a state that does not require registration of firearms. LONG LIVE TEXAS! TXAG
  2. I can't believe I forgot it and haven't seen it listed. RED DAWN - listed in Guiness Book at one time as the most violent movie made to date. MY KINDA MOVIE! TXAG
  3. Tombstone(dont think I saw that listed) Road Warrior(DID EVERYONE FORGET THAT ONE?????) Gladiator North Dallas Forty Smokey and the Bandit( Jacky Gleason is great) Platoon Tora Tora Tora and my number one all time favorite guy flic......Saving Private Ryan. TXAG PS... forgot Conan the Barbarrian. Arnold kicks A$$., Jeremia Johnson also.
  4. HEY HEY HEY, Paras are great for those of us who didn't win the lottery or had a silver spoon up their A$$. They aren't the best but they will do the job. TXAG
  5. They are a very slick trigger pull for double action. The only draw back is the fact that if there is a misfire the slide must be racked to reset the trigger. Unlike other DA autos or revolvers that just require you to pull the trigger again. This is a little thing but a draw back to me. My $.02 TXAG
  6. I have seen people hammer Pepper Poppers with double and triple taps. After the popper has begun to fall it creates a ramp of sorts and bullets leave the bay rather quickly. I have seen them hit the top of berms or just plain go over them. Any time we have steel in a stage and you are in the next bay over you can hear the bullets(or fragments of them) whizzing over the berms. It can be nerve racking. TXAG
  7. I run Para bodies(blued) with Wolff springs and Arrendondo followers. I have Dawson basepads w/ a Dawson magwell. I have yet to have a problem with mags in my P16. ( KNOCK-KNOCK) Dawson basepads are the only way to go with a Dawson magwell. TXAG
  8. Never even thought of that. It worked, thanks guys. TXAG
  9. I have been loading TG in a Glock 22 with a 180 plated bullet. I have been loading 4.5 of TG loaded to 1.125. It is right at major. I have had no problems with seriously bulged cases. I have reloaded several 3 to 4 times. The barrel is factory. Hornady lists 4.7 as max for a 180gr. JHP at 978 fps in their 2002 Basic Reloading Manual. They also worn that these loads should be shot in firearms with fully supported barrels. I have had no problems with my 22 but have been considering a replacement barrel for accuracy reasons more than anything. TXAG
  10. Eric, the gun's slide ejects shells very quickly yes, but that is a spent primer in the case so banging it on the ejector wouldn't matter. I have heard of two cases of this. One with a .45 and one with a .40. Both times they were flipping the round to catch it. I won't change dumping one on the ground until I hear of one detinating that way. If so many people are hearing of or seeing this happen why isn't it considered unsafe gun handling? As an RO when a shooter does this I still make them open the slide and show clear. Have had them tell me "you saw the round come out." Yes, but I still haven't seen an empty chamber. TXAG
  11. Man, I need to take a typing class or start reading my post prior to adding. Sorry about the typos. TXAG
  12. I know the feeling. I shoot on occasion at a local club(USPSA) that resembles a track meet more that a pistol match. The director likes running them that way. I am a match director at a local club and I try to keep it mixed up. Several of my local regulars are should I say "verteran" shooters. They prefer standing and shooting. I like a little run and gun so I mix it up. People who complain that they can't be competitve with all the running should be reminded that they are technically competing against their same class(classification and age) and not everyone at the match. You can't please everyone all the time. TXAG
  13. Anyone know what is up with it? I haven't been able to get on there in over a week. TXAG
  14. If you have seen a round go off after striking the ejector and what it can do you would never try that again. Friend of mine had it happen to him with a 40 round, picked brass out of his hand , chin and cheeks. Good thing for shooting glassed or he might not have his sight today. Drop that round on the ground. Nothing flashy, just safe gun handling. TXAG
  15. I am about to have a rifle matte chromed(first time to have anything chromed) and am sending it to CheckMate in Florida. I have seen several pistols they have done. Looked very nice. They have a website. I found it by downing a web search. Might check them out. Anyone no of a business that deals with powder coating firearms. Have had no luck even finding one that does guns. Thanks. TXAG
  16. I had two guys I shoot with try to get a Nowlin barrel with the C/P cut and couldn't find one anywhere. Nowlin is suppose to be making one but havent seen one in stock anywhere. I shoot lead for practice and jacketed for matches. I hope this fixes the problem. TXAG
  17. Those little tips are great as long as you have a variable speed rotary tool. I had a sinlge speed tool and slung them across the room several times before going to Wall Mart and gettting a variable speed tool. TXAG
  18. Had my gunsmith order a Barsto for me today. He will be installing it. They are to expensive to screw up. TXAG
  19. I shoot TG with 180 TC lead bullets. I use 4.4gr seated to 1.18" About 170 PF. Start lower and work your way up. TXAG
  20. Well...I did it. I ordered (or my smithy ordered) a nw barrel for my P16 today. I went with a Barsto bushing barrel. Did not want to alter the slide for a bull barrel. I guess I was thinking down the road if the gun had to be returned to Para for warranty work. Companies tend to not like their products to be altered. Should be in shortly. Hope this fixes my problems. Thanks for all the info. TXAG
  21. 9mm is legal in Limited also, just scored minor. Or did I miss the point?
  22. Tried 6 different loads in my P16 Limited this weekend at the range. Didn't get to use the Ransom Rest. I used a solid rest with sand bags. The 2 factory rounds were UMC 180 FP and Winchester white box 180 FP. UMC averaged 4.5" @ 25yds. Win. averaged 6" @ 25yds. All groups were 10 rounds. There was no stringing, just round groups. One hand load(LSWC) averaged 3". That was good but I don't want to shoot lead because of all the smoke. Group average for all loads was around 4.75" @ 25 yds. That isn't close to Para's statement of 3" or less at 25yds. I think it is time for a new barrel.
  23. I know how you feel. There is a simple solution to this. When it is your turn let the other shooters know. I as an RO have asked the next squad to leave the bay until the current squad is done shooting. GM, M, I don't care if it is interfering with me running a stage. I have know problem telling shooters to wait their turn, even shooters in the same squad. If you are several shooters down, don't keep practicing your run. If you are not "on deck" or up to shoot, you should be helping tape and set steel.
  24. I would like to know where the Armscor bullets can be had for $42 to $50 for .40s. I am interested in trying them. TXAG
