  1. I was having the same problem with the FCD. I had my smith open up the sizing ring a couple of thousands and it works great now. Drill a hole in the top of the plug. That helps let air out for quicker cycling of the press. I love my FCD. TXAG
  2. I did the old sock trick on the ball handle and it works great. Much cheaper than the roller handle. TXAG
  3. Does Para still offer the coupon for two high-caps with gun purchase? If so there are two for you and I think Para sells pre-ban high-caps also. Not near as cheap as the first two though. I like mine to much to part with them but there are pre-bans to be had. USPSA classified, gun shows and local gun stores. Let them know you want them and they could find you some. The Dawson base pads are great. If you have a mag well you will want some type of extended base pad. TXAG
  4. I have found a used Bushmaster XM15 ES2(?) I think. I looked it over and liked it. It is used so I will actually be able to shoot it before I buy. I like the idea of that. I will try it out and see how it goes. TXAG
  5. OK, I found another that looks to be what I want!!?? The Fulton Arms rifle in this months issue of American Rifleman. Anyone know what the quality is on these. Keep in mind this rifle is for play as much as 3-gun. I want to be able to put as much sh*t(different options) on it as I feel like. TXAG
  6. I am looking to spend in the $800-900 range so custom built is just about out of the question. The configuration I stated earlier was to make the rifle as versitile as possible. I don't really know what I will do with it. I haven't gotten into 3-gun yet. I just love to shoot and want one. Might as well have the most versitile one I can afford. TXAG
  7. Never thought about barrel length and PF. I would possibly use it in 3-gun but mostly just want one. 18" would be ideal, 20" or more is just to cumbersome to me. I like the shorty configuration. Looked at Fulton Arms, they have some nice rifles too! Decisions, decisions....... TXAG
  8. OK, I have the bug for an AR. I want a 16" barrel, preferably stainless steel, free floated barrel, detachable carry handle w/ removable front sight. I want a rifle that can use the iron sights but be changed to optics with no front post in the way. I believe both DPMS and Rock River Arms both make one in this configuration. Or do they? Which is better, more reliable, durable, accurate? I have shot AR's but know little about them, any help would be appreciated. TXAG
  9. CZ 75, high caps are cheap, gun is reliable and accurate. TXAG
  10. Peyton's luck ran out again. Go Pats! TXAG
  11. OK, shotgun question. Does anyone know anything about these shotguns?????? I have the opportunity to get one very, very cheap. Is it worth the $$$$? I will be using it for duck hunting. It is a 3" gun. Looks nice, handles well but I haven't seen anyone else with one or who knows anything about them. THanks in advance. TXAG
  12. A friend of mine had a "serious" problem with a bullet order from them also awhile back. Not sure what is up but he doesn't order bullets from Cheryl any more. TXAG
  13. My 2000 has gotten a workout this week duck hunting. It is %100 reliable through two boxes of 3" steel shells. I shot a few light dove loads in it and about every 5th one would FTF. I like the gun and for the price you can't beat it. As for longevity, we will see. Felt recoil...less than my 870 with 3.5s. Would have to work out the feeding problem with 2.75s before it made a reliable 3-gun shotgun. Do Benelli extended mag tubes fit this gun? TXAG
  14. Sick and drinking, that doesn't sound to smart to me!? TXAG
  15. I am a smokeless tobacco user and hate smokers. I spit on their feet! How inconsiderate of them to shorten my life by subjecting me to second-hand smoke. Seriously, I haven't noticed that many smokers in the sport. I only know of one; ever seen a guy shoot a stage with a cig hanging from his lips? Talk about chain smoking!!! TXAG
  16. I am a very competitive person and really like firearms of all kinds. I just combined the two with IPSC. It gives me a high that is hard to explain(many of you know what I am talking about) when I get up to the line to shoot. One word for why I shoot : competition! TXAG
  17. Took my 2000 out for an extended shooting section of quail hunting. It does not like federal game loads. The cheap ones of 7 1/2 shot. It failed to feed about every 5th or 6th round. 3" steel loads have run fine in it. Will have to fire a few more to see how it "breaks in". TXAG
  18. I like the Benelli because it has a mag block. Makes loading slugs when needed easy. 1100 and 1187 are high quality guns with less felt recoil. Shoot them both (don't for get the X2 and Gold) and take the one you are most comfortable with. TXAG
  19. The WSM, WSSM, and the Remington Shorts are marketing ploys to sell guns. Always something new to keep moving guns. I don't own one. I don't intend to buy one. I have a 6mm Rem. that shoots just fine. It does all I need it to and more. If you like the WSSMs, by all means buy them and keep supporting the industry. I see it as a solution to a non problem. TXAG
  20. This may sound stupid but honestly I saw it happen so I will ask it. You do have the small primer feed tube in right? You can imagine small pimers tumbling down a large primer feed tube. Friend forgot to change it when he went from loading .45 back to loading 40. TXAG
  21. I have the same questions. I bought one for duck hunting. I wanted an auto but didn't want to pay a fortune for a duck gun when I have just started hunting ducks. I got the idea that it might make a good 3-gun shotgun.? I loved it on my first duck hunt. Guess time will tell on reliability of this gun. I also keep hearing that old saying "you get what you pay for!" Anyone use one of these in 3-gun? TXAG
  22. Shot a custom job built on a Pre '64 long action(Box magizine had to be blocked to feed properly). #5 contour barrel. It was kinda heavy so recoil was light. Not any worse than any other varmint rifle in 243 or 6mm. It was not bad at all. TXAG
  23. P16 Limited, Kart barrel, DP extended mag release, base pads, and mag well. CR Speed holster and mag pouches. CR inner and outer belts. TXAG
  24. Life is to short to take a step backward in the shooting sport and try to compete with a Glock in Limited. TXAG
