  1. Just checked mine, yes it does wobble at the bottom of the stroke. Never had any problems with mine. Love my Rockchucker.
  2. Police range and ROing lost brass matches. Lots of brass there.
  3. I get around 10 reloads from my 40 cases. I use RCBS resizer and Lee FC die to finish. I reload mostly once-fired Glock brass from a local police range. I have no problems with bulges. Stay away from that S&B garbage. It is the devil. Primers don't seat, doesn't resize well. Nickle brass seems to have half the life of regular. I shoot them till the neck splits belling it. I bell my mouths a little more than normal. Figure if it splits it, its time to toss it. I have shot tens of thousands of 40 and only had one case rupture. I knew it when I pulled the trigger. Just sounded funny. P16 kept right on running. I clean about 2000 cases. When they are all fired. I clean them again. It makes it easy to keep up with how many times they have been fired.
  4. I have been testing Barrys plated bullets in .40. I have had decent accuarcy from them in a p16 but not so good in my Glock they like to keyhole every so often.
  5. Hve not tried the 135 Barry's but have shot the 180s. They are fine in my P1 but I have about every 10th one tumble and keyhole out of my Glock.
  6. I am new to the whole Dillon thing but am learning quickly. Dillon users and Glock owners have a lot in common. Both are the greatest and there is nothing else. You (eric) are comparing apples to oranges. I made a statement about poor customer service and guess I ruffled some feathers. Sorry. I guess I haven't owned my Dilon or my Glock long enough to get that tunnel-vision mind set yet. Will try harder.
  7. Beach scene: Saving Private Ryan Running shoot out: Heat When they attempt to execute Maxximus: Gladiator Chasin' buffalo: Lonesome Dove
  8. Favorite movie, lets see... 1. Saving Private Ryan, Lonesome Dove(can't decide which is better) 2. Gladiator 3. The Patriot 4. Red Dawn 5. We Were Soldiers 6. Jaws 7. Blackhawk Down I could go on and on... but I was only suppose to pick one. Sorry
  9. Hey, I like Jim Rome! He does not baby professional athletes like the rest of the sports world and he isn't afraid to say what is on his mind. I respect him for that. I don't like his bias against a NASCAR driver for who sponsers him though. The man has big brass ones. Dont have to like him for his beliefs, but I respect him for lack of give a sh** about athletes inflated egos! My .02
  10. Just letting everyone know that Dillon isn't always the greatest thing since slided bread. All I ever hear is how great their customer service is. You won't ever see the letter from a dissatisfied customer in the Blue Press, just praise. I was making the point that Dillon promises satisfaction to its customers and they didn't even attempt to make things right with my friend. Not a "How about a discount on a new press or we will take it back as a trade in on another press." They told him in no way would they warranty it nor would they do anything about it. I also stated that Dillon claimed that you had the right to talk to the president of the company if you were not satisfied. That won't happen either unless you are some VIP. Once again, I own a Dillon and love it but I believe that good and bad customer should be reported equally. Still need that fuel pump for the Bf-109? Can get you one for a nominal price. No warranty. Sold as is.
  11. Glock fans get very sensitive when you bad mouth their toys! Yes Glocks have an unsupported chamber(deeply cut feed ramp) because they want it to feed anything you could possibly put in it. I have had people turn their noses up at brass fired in a Glock. I use mostly police range brass in my P16. It is all once fired and I resize it with an RCBS die and finish it with Lee facotry crimp die. I have never had a problem with case head separation or feeding. I do not own a case check guage and don't plan on buying one. I do own a Glock 22 and am a little leary of shooting reloads in it. That problem can be fixed with a replacement barrel that has cut rifling and a fully supported chamber. Then there is no worry over shooting lead in it either. As long as your resizing die gets all the way down on the case, once fired Glock brass is fine for reloading. My two cents as usual.
  12. Brian, I am glad to here you were taken care of by Dillon. I believe that the press he has is a 300? It will load rifle and pistol. It was around $400 new in the mid 80's when he bought it. He was told that the press wasn't covered for life when he called for parts. Fine time to let your customers know this. At the time of his purchase Dillon claimed to cover all of their reloading equipment for life. I believe now that the 1050 and 900 are only covered for 1 year. For all the negative press Dillon could recieve over something like this, they would be better off shipping him a new 550 for free. I still own one (purchased recently) and love it. Hope nobody else has this problem with Dillon. And by the way, I have been loading for 17 years on RCBS equipment and their warranty is as good as any. Still own an RCBS press.
  13. Just to add something to think about. NOT ALL DILLON PRODUCTS ARE COVERED BY A "LIFETIME NO B.S. WARRANTY". A friend of mine recently had a problem with an older(20 yrs older) Dillon press and when he called for service he was told he was S.O.L. because his press wasn't covered by a lifetime warranty and they quit making parts for it in the early 90's. He couldn't even buy parts to fix it so he now has a light weight boat anchor that Dillon will do nohting about. He also has an older magazine add(something about your "Constitutional Reloading Rights") from Dillon that states "All of our reloading equipment is covered by a lifetime warranty" and if you aren't happy with customer service then you have the right to talk to the President of the company. He has been trying to do this for weeks now. Not a chance. If you buy a Dillon make sure that it has a lifetime warranty. I own one and love it but I was very unhappy with the way my friend was treated by Dillon.
  14. YES, YES, YES, the 650 is an excellent press...but, if you are going to load more than one caliber(unlike some IPSC shooter that do nothing but .40, or 38 super) the 650 isn't the easiest to change or the cheapest for caliber conversions. I have a 550 and am proud to say it. I load several calibers and have no need to load a zillion rounds an hour. The 550 does everything I need it to and can load 500 rounds of pistol ammo in an hour. I have no need for more than that. Don't overlook the 550 if you plan to load more than one caliber or are on a budget like some of us. Just my TWO cents.
  15. Vote for Tite Group here. I load 4.6 w/ 180 gr. FP. OAL is 1.175. Velocity from P16 averages 940. Very clean and meters well from D550.
  16. I own Lee, RCBS, Hornady, and Forster dies. I like them all. Another vote for whatever you buy add the Lee factory crimp die. It really takes any swells or bulges out of your loads for reliable feeding. Critical for IPSC.
  17. Thanks for the info guys. I have replaced parts(the P16 is stainless) that have worn out: extractor, firing pin stop, firing pin spring. I would like to just retire it and get an STI but I have been shooting several matches lately and noticed that the custom guns malfunction more than the factory stock ones. I would like a new barrel but I am on a budget(also having a rifle built at the moment). The accuracy is adequate for IPSC. I don't miss unless it was me not the lack of accuracy of the gun. I guess I am just an accuracy freak. Comes from years of varmint rifles prior to discovering IPSC. Back to the P16, the fit of the gun is tight(not sloppy and loose). I guess I will have to live with the lack of acuracy until I can get a new barrel or shoot Limited 10 with one of my single stack tack drivers. Thanks again for the info guys. GIG 'EM
  18. Yes, I have been shooting a 180 gr. bullet with 4.6 of tite group for a PF of 171. I am looking at a barrel but am worried about function. I have shot about 50 matches with this gun and yet to have a malfunction of ANY kind. I can put A and C hits on IPSC targets all day at 50yds off hand. Just thought it should shoot better off a rest at 15. I just feel more confident with an accurate firearm. Yes the accuracy is probably acceptable for a C limited shooter. Just thought someone might have the magic load that I have yet to discover.
  19. I have been shooting a P16 Limited for about 2 years now. I am an experienced reloader(16 years) but have yet to find an "accurate" load for my .40. I have tried various powders and bullets(Lead, plated, jacketed) but nothing will average better than 2 to three inches at 15 yds. off sand bags. Before you think I just can't shoot; I have .45's that make ragged holes at 15 yds. I am currently loading Tite Group and it is OK, but I believe that it should shoot better than what I am getting. I don't want to replace the barrel. The gun performs flawlessly. It just isn't as accurate as I want it, or am I expecting to much?
  20. As much fun as this would be to shoot(backing out stage) I feel that you are asking for trouble with new shooter. I have to many new and inexerienced shooters to try this. I forsee a disaster with a back out stage at my local club.
  21. Thanks for the idea guys. I design stages for my local club and am always looking for new ways to present targets. I am an RO and have looked the red book over and see nothing that prohibits it. My local club will love me for this one.
