  1. Bingo, you sir deserve a cigar. If I wanted a sport with to many rules and overly complicated scoring system I would shoot pistol only. The degree of challenge can be varied greatly with stage design alone, no need to complicate things.
  2. I loaded some 124gr MG JHP's at 1.140" long with 5.7gr of autocomp and that made right around 150pf. A little snappy but very accurate.
  3. If you are having accuracy with plated bullets, it is most likey your crimp. Back it off till there is actually a little flat left on the case.
  4. Down load the data sheet from the western powder website, they have a tom of good load info already published.
  5. If you are loading pistol adding the roller bearing to the shell plate makes the spiliing go away. If your loading rifle, what powder are you using? Tell your not using varget.
  6. A friend of mine reciently had the same problem, the issue is the bolt is not traveling far enough back to pick the round. So it could be a couple things, such as not getting enough gas and or a mechanical stop In my friends case he had a carbine length buffer with a rifle length gas tube, which may or may not work depending on the rifle. But his was compounded by using a heavy aftermarket buffer, we switched to a normal buffer he had and the gun runs perfectly now.
  7. Don't think about it anymore, "you can only shoot as fast as you can see" it seems simple but is in fact difficult to do.
  8. Thanks for the input, great suggestions.
  9. I shoot 4.7 gr's of N320 in my STI 1911, with a 230 gr bear creek moly bullet at 1.260" OAL. My power factor is around 160-165. So start at 4.5 if you are using lead.
  10. It happens to everyone eventualy
  11. Ok guys, where can I buy a silver peel washer set from, without have to pay more in shipping than I am paying for the actual part. Call it principle but it really pains me to pay more in shipping than for the damn part itself.
  12. I would reccomend the hammerhead grip, with an Ace ultra light stock, It looks a little funny, but actually doesn't feel to bad at all.
  13. Stage 8? Stage 8 was long range rifle (with close rifle and shotgun targets - no handgun). Maybe you mean stage 7? My mistake you are correct Stage 7.
  14. To touch back on this subject, it is actually stated in the rule book that it is legal to re-holster. The reasoning behind this question was because of stage 8 at the uspsa multigun nationals. Where it starting with the pistol, bolstering then moving to the shotgun, and finishing with the pistol would have been the fastest way to run the stage. As it turns out someone else came up with this same solution and they changed the stage description to where you had to start with the shotgun in hand. I guess someone thought it might be a safety issue, but either way the chAnge made that stage a pure hosing stage.
  15. Just finished cleaning my SLP before nationals, and found the piston spring is broken again, so who still does the piston sealing now, and how can I get in touch with them? Nationals are only two weeks away. Thanks all.
  16. What about your back up guns? You better start building another set to use as backups, last year at the 3-gun nationals all of my backup guns got used, the good part was that I did not use them.
  17. Specifically in USPSA multigun rules is it legal to engage a part of the pistol targets then holster your pistol, pickup a shotgun and engage an array of SG targets, abandon the SG and finish engaging the remainder of the pistol array.
  18. Your statement correct. But my statement is one based on experience, I have had 3 WOA barrels and they have been very similar, they shoot about .75 MOA with a 1-4 off bags. Did I mention I shoot those groups after burning through a 30 rounds mag to make sure the barrels shoot accurately ever after getting hot. I have had several other barrels that do not maintaine that type of accuracy when hot, such as BHW and DPMS.
  19. Same here except I use 4.3 gr's.Another load I have used but is a little snappy but very accurate is 5.1-5.2 gr's of autocomp. Not the best but it works if that is the only powder you have.
  20. WOA because they make barrels for shooting 600-1000yd matches, and that is a whole level above where we shoot in 3-gun. They are a great company.
  21. My fantasy match would be a 4 day 17 stage event. Put togther with a collaboration by the following people 1. Pete Rensinger 2. Andy Horner 3. The Gibson family 4. Phil strator 5. ken Nelson 5-6 guns- rifle, SG, pistol, bolt gun, sub compact pistol, something full auto like an AK Natural terrain and bay stages Real obsticals Very physical Hard positions High round count At least 3 guns every stage Perfect 70 deg weather No rain or snow Slugs, buck shot, everything Stages that make you think before you shoot, like solve a rubics cube before you start No prize table, just a momento that means something if you finish Sponsor prizes distributed by random draw.
