To add to what the other are saying, you said you felt rushed to come up with a stage plan because you were the first shooter or the on deck shooter. At local matches I arrive about an hour early so I have time to walk the stages before the match begins, this way on the five minute walk through all I am doing is reviewing my plan. For major matches I arrive the day before. Hope this helps. Personally I like going first on the first stage of a match.

I use black grip tape from Dawson. It has numbers cut out of them so I can keep track. They are $6.95 for a pack of six at Shooters Connection. Hope this helps.

I am a big fan of Tripp Research mags. They have 10 round 9mm mags. Tripp research also has great customer service, give them a call they will take care of you.

Minor Sucks If you have a gun that has to shoot minor loads, then shoot production. Just my 2 cents

In January I ordered 25,000 rounds, they all arrived on the same day in 13 boxes each box weighed 65 pounds. I don't think my mail man was real happy, fortunately he is a shooter as well.

To help ensure safe travel I would print out and bring all the match info I could in order to prove were I was going and what I was going to be doing with the gun I had locked up in the back of the car.

I use a 12 1/2lbs. spring in my gun. My PF is about 172.

Spend a little more and have a gun built. Akai is is great place to start looking.

I googled skateboard tape and bought some then just cut it to fit my gun.

This year I started shooting a 6" gun from Akai after shooting production for one year. I love this gun and feel I am a better shooter now. That being said I think my production classification would have improved this year but I love shooting limited and love shooting a 2011. My advice would be shoot a buddies 2011 and then when you discover you love the 2011 have one built. The extra money is well worth it.

Usually 6 stages with one of them being a classifier.

It is defiantly not like a special Olympics medal. Most of those kids have serious limitation and winning something like that means the world to them to them. That's just my to cent from a support class shooter that loves shooting USPSA.

I pulled my fiber out then filled the hole with epoxy. Before I shoot I spray the front sight with a little Sight Black.
