I got two different brands of extesions, both took ALOT of fiddling before they ran good. Although I THINK they are 100% now, I still carry 2 extra mags on every stage, just as always, they ran fine in practice, got a "box of skittles" during a match(3 different times in the last year) The first time I had 2 "box o skittles" in one stage, leaving me with no ammo and 12 targets FTE

Take a break -
A few years ago we parked the camper at Jellystone in Cave City. Don't think it was too spendy since it is considered off season There is a CG that is adjacent to Rock Castle called Diamond Caverns. It has been recently purchased by Encore and apparently cleaned up at least I hope so. We stayed there a few years ago. Reasonable rates and only a few minutes away. Thanks, Hope to arrive about 3 pm on Thurs, we'll check it out.

Need some HELP, I posted in the other thread but other than guys saying they think so, I haven't heard from anyone who has. We are going to the International match at RC, and am wanting to know IF there is a place to park my camper ON SITE, has anyone here done it? I called the Lodge to ask about parking my trailer they said , NO , nearest place is 2-3 miles away. Thought about staying there but an extra $400.00+ dollars is kinda spendy. Is there someone ELSE I need to call? ? I would MUCH rather park on site if possible, NO hookups are needed. Just a parking spot.

Here's some ready to install I should add , it WAS the mag that screwed me at the Gateway 3gun, not sure how, but somewhere in the packing/unpacking they got a good hit. Anyway, the GOOD news, we shot the Brownells Am. National championships , our shooters got 4, of the top 5 places in open, my gun ran 100%, about 120+/- rnds , Joshua had 1 low power shell that stove piped, the other 2 had, I think 1 failure each, I don't remember what. So close to 500 rounds through 4 different guns, shooting 1145fps shells, not too bad. We ended up with 2nd & 3rd Class A , Joshua was 2nd overall as well 1st & 2nd Class B -

Thanks, I had planned on calling yesterday but was too busy and forgot til late last night, I figured somebody on here would KNOW and help I saw the $2300.00 package , but that was about all I could find. Next question, should I take my mini truck? or just drive the pickup to each stage? from looking at Flash Earth, looks like the stages are pretty spread out, similar to the Ozarks 3G match. We're pretty amped to go to RC, been wanting to go to a match there for a while, just never worked out.

WAY back in the day, I used to do that while playing Call of Duty, I was pretty good sitting, walking on the tread mill made the game a WHOLE lot harder, then I moved to jogging,WOW. I wish(probably do now)there was an actual pistol, rifle, SG you could use instead of the controler/joy stick.

is camo clothing frowned upon at matches?

I think it's pretty obvious that it's not common. I just kind of think the fear of looking "tacticool" is part of why it's not. I have ran a long rail for years and although I've not been in competitions, I hunt with it and have shot it on barricade type of rests. I've owned a JP as well so I can compare first hand and I just can't say that I feel like the rail is or would hold me back due to the weight or comfort. Quite honestly I preferred the feel of the rail. I have some ladders on them and it feels perfectly comfortable to me. There's been some guys who bought a rail system just to go to a 3-gun competition and immediately switch after one meet. I just have a hard time believing this is entirely 100% performance related. It would be more logical to deduct that they decided that they stood out visually, in the same manner as somebody wearing BDU's to their first meet. I'm half afraid that will happen to me. The other significant part not mentioned elsewhere here is the cost. A quality Seekins or JP costs half of what my Daniel Defense does. That's a $200 difference. For a 3-gun specific build, that's just wasted money and would be hard to justify, especially if doing so would give off a tacticool vibe. Come shoot a match, I AM one of the "tacticool" guys, I don't give a crap what others "THINK" I SHOULD be using, I use what I LIKE and HAVE. SAME rifle I hunt with, SAME SG I shoot clays with, and until recently the SAME pistol I CCW. When I started , I was placing at the 50% mark (WITH an AK47 & $40.00 RDS) I changed that, I have gotten better, and still use basically what I started with, made some changes when I moved to Open , changed SG, added some more RDS (helps with older eyes). Come shoot don't worry what the "COOL" kids are doing. Have FUN ! -
3 gun sucking away uspsa shooters?
toothandnail replied to Sandbagger123's topic in USPSA/IPSC Shooting
I agree. I was explaining the FNH match to a friend who does not shoot competitively and I used a NASCAR analogy. I said getting the opportunity to shoot and work the match would be like me building a car and racing at Bristol and getting to compete against Jimmy Johnson. I thoroughly enjoyed it! YEP, back when I raced ATV's , I ran in the Expert class locally , won my fair share, there was several venues that allowed us to race SBS with the professionals, basically, JUST LIKE 3 Gun. Did I win any ? NO, But it was WORTH the higher entry fee to ride with and talk to those guys, they were not quite as FREE with tips as the top 3gun guys, some of those races paid $5-10K, back when 5K would buy you the BEST race ATV around, and then some. NOBODY whined about not having a DRAWING for the prize. -

How many SG rounds do you carry on a stage?
toothandnail replied to pmt's topic in Rifle & Shotgun - Technique
I start every stage with 23 , in 2 coupled mags, if need be I have a leg holster that holds another 2 coupled mags of 23. for the REALLY FUN SG stages , I can hang another set of mags off my belt, 23(actually 2 if need be) for a total of 69 (or 92) total. I have shot several stages with 50+ SG on a stage. I think 57 targets was the most. -
3 gun sucking away uspsa shooters?
toothandnail replied to Sandbagger123's topic in USPSA/IPSC Shooting
yeah, WHY would we want to encourage anyone to WORK at getting better I could MAYBE see having one or two nice items with a random draw, with EVERYONE included. But this EVERYBODY'S a winner crap is just THAT. I ran a race track for about 10 years, we only gave awards to the TOP 3 (or 1/3), top 5 if there were 25+ in the class. So if there happened to be only 3 in a class, guess what only ONE got a prize. MOST people understood, the "everybody wins" group . I told many when they complained, "if you WANT a prize , go home and PRACTICE". -

As someone who was in a group, TOLD to LEAVE a match because of clothing(we have NEVER been back) I find quite amusing the lamentations about the decline of attendance/lack of NEW shooters. A lot get it, SO MANY DON'T, until that changes
