  1. Had a TIA a while back my short term memory is bad, to put it mildly, haven't shot a clean match since. Still finish fairly well, rarely lower than 10th, the 1-3 missed targets is usually about all the finish spots the cost me. Most of the time it's 1 or 2 places lower. slow footwork/age costs me more places than missed targets. Still aggravating .
  2. Another reason I don't like shooting 1/2 day. 3 of the last 1/2 day 4 matches I shot. Our squad shot in the rain both days, the squads on the other rotation shot in sunny weather both days.
  3. As a Shooter and MD I agree with the OP. I don't shoot 1/2 day matches for the same reasons stated. Waste of time, I go to shoot be at the range /match not stare at the motel walls
  4. Never a problem, only thing we have to watch is suppressed rifles. Just have to have the timer within 5-6' on the ejection side for the last shot.
  5. Here is the final shoot off from the Midwest 3 gun series, my son Josh ended up winning this shoot off and the Series. Here he is shooting against one of our other Tooth and Nail Armory team members for first place, out of an 18 man field in this competition. the shoot off is a $20.00 entry winner take all.6 6" rifle targets at 50 yds7 6" shotgun targets at 12 yards10 pistol poppers also at 12 yards
  6. We are still trying to connect with this set of shooters. We are pretty well connected in the 3 gun side, and a few cross over, but for the most part this is a different group of shooters. Any help spreading the word is appreciated.
  7. Just a few slots left, starting to get sponsors on board as well.
  8. Registration is open. https://practiscore.com/2018-missouri-3-gun-championship/register
  9. Just a reminder, general Registration will open Monday at 6 PM Last year the match filled and had a wait list of nearly 40, don't miss your opportunity.
  10. I think this is the test I was referring to. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=3&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwifpKK995PWAhVJzlQKHUhRB_YQFggyMAI&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.smallarmsreview.com%2Fdisplay.article.cfm%3Fidarticles%3D111&usg=AFQjCNFlu2BJ-4Rqh80Tgj1NhOEEgvOkVg
  11. After reading the test data saying there was no discernable difference, I kinda agreed, as my experience dictated, I had done some shooting with a 14" barrel . To make it more concrete, I re-shot a 3 gun match( Missouri 3 gun championship) with a 12" MKA 1919 shotgun, slug target at 100 yds, falling steel from 12-20 yds, flying clays. Used the same chokes as I did in the actual match. Actually did slightly better with the SBS, than in the match. ( less pressure, already shot the stages) My biggest concern was slugs at 100 yds, so I did a side by side with my 19" barrel MKA 1919. there was not enough group size difference that it could not be attributed to ammo, or shooter input. A RDS at 100 yds is hard to keep a consistent aiming point. If I remember correctly it was about a 1" difference at 100 yds with slugs, shooting off a Vtac barricade. pretty sure it was 3 shot groups, don't think I did 5. steel and clays were no difference as well. If you're using different chokes in different guns, that alone can make a big pattern difference, same with slug impacts.
  12. Barrel length has no affect on pattern, very little to do with velocity, a 12" barrel with have virtually the same performance as a 26" over 26 you start losing.
  13. Reshoot is correct, had a similar incident a couple weeks ago at a match I attended. Shooter forgot a target, ran back to engage, passed 2 RO's and possibly a 3rd& 4th who was helping score/reset. Shooter had to wait for them to get behind him to continue, didn't get a reshoot.
  14. May 19 , 2018 @ Lead Farm 3 Gun Range, 6-8 stages of team shooting. CASH payout to the top 10% of the field Each team will be allowed one Open shooter (don't have to) Anybody on the team can shoot the Open guns, but each gun, just once per stage. For example on a shotgun heavy stage, the Open SG could only be used by one person. Rules will be the same as the MO3GC match with a few tweaks to fit the team format. Ask any questions you may have.

  16. As Flatland said, we have a couple guys who shoot silenced rifles , have the timer on the ejection port side within 6-8' for the last shot, hasn't been a problem. Cant see how a PCC would be quieter?? Sounds like the sensitivity is waaaay to low.

  18. I love high round count SG stages, and there will always be, a high round count, SG only, stage at our matches. Also will have many of the "carnival" moving props, only shooting static steel is easy and gets boring. Come to our match you will be challenged to your limits, or close to, on all 3 guns. We also shoot rifles as they should be - from 7 yds out to 600 yds. Pistol - targets from 4" , 6", 8", death star, drop turn, texas star, B/C zone at 50+ yds SG similar targets to pistol, adding flying clays, slugs, buck shot. We also have some physical aspect on many stages. I can't stand matches with, stand in box A shoot 6, move to box B, shoot 4, move to box C shoot 6, mandatory reload between each box. We have designed targets to speed reset and make it easy on the shooters resetting. We design stages to be reset while the shooter is moving forward for the most part.
  19. Better make sure you install a 6#+ trigger before you sell, and don't sell any of those hi-capacity mags, ya know the ones that kill babies and children. Also a good idea to remove the RDS, those are super dangerous in inexperienced hands as well.
  20. I have never personally had any experience with HC except when passing a new build from the finisher to the customer, However. We have had numerous calls from guys who, after pulling their HC gun out of the sonic cleaner, are totally freaked out that it is nearly completely covered in rust. Is does seem to be fairly easy to clean off, but that alone is enough for me to shy away from having one of mine done. It does look very nice for a "chrome " like finish, we have done several Black Nitride/HC finish that look fantastic.
  21. Black Nitride is the best I've seen, Hard Chrome rusts very easy.
  22. Just shot a brutally hot match this weekend , at least the weather should be better for this one
