  1. That small difference in elevation won't make a discernible difference in impact location.
  2. With our loads, I can shoot 55's or 69's out to 400yds with the same optic zero, 400-600yds exclusively 69's
  3. Oct 20 a Lead Farm 3 gun range - home of the Missouri 3 Gun Championship https://clubs.practiscore.com/night-pistol-pcc-match/register
  4. So what is the change ? reads the same to me.
  5. St Louis or Kansas city would be the 2 biggest. Then Springfield, all of them are 2 - 2.5 hours away
  6. Who would be interested in staying at the range? Seriously thinking about setting up a "lodge/bunk house" - rooms with 4 beds, bathroom ~$30 per night per person. Yes? No? Comments . . .
  7. Well, match went pretty well, quite a bit different style than many USPSA guys had seen. The jungle run stage was pretty difficult for many, you could sure tell the 3 gunners on this style stage. Many had never shot a stage with a vehicle prop as well. In both of these stages the 2 top USPSA guys still did well, as expected. The stage planning was more challenging on those 2 stages, than a typical USPSA stage. I finished 2nd in open 3rd in PCC, not bad for a U class noobie.? small match though.?
  8. I was surprised to have read that as well, always thought it was 21' , that seems to be the standard everywhere else. No matter the discipline, very seldom have them as close as 21' Closest is 9 yards, there are 2-3 that possibly "could be shot at", at 7-8 yds, but you would be shooting basically at the edge.
  9. I'm use to designing long stages with lots of targets/rest, that flow. Just have to see how USPSA flow/reset works.
  10. 12 or 6 o clock with the light, if there are ANY close walls/doors to shoot around the further you are from either of this 2 the worse it will be. If possible start on the down wind targets first. Move into the wind. A green laser is great for close stuff, depending on the weather conditions it will hurt on long range. You will see a big green halo, many times blocking out the target.
  11. Got all 5 done, have some guys stopping by tomorrow to see how bad I did .
  12. Thanks for all the help, and reasons why. The reasons, help as much or more, in future stage designs.
  13. Thanks, these responses, with reasons, are what I'm needing to learn. At any point there would be a reason to push the line ( a hard lean, or the end of shooting area) there will be an official hard fault line. I didn't make that clear. The gun would be in the rear of jeep, mag in console(as per laws in some commie states requiring separate storage) I see how sweeping could be a problem , possibly when opening the door, and again reaching for the mag in the console. May just have to stage everything in the back. I wasn't aware that a cut out was illegal, I was sure I had seen it at another match - possibly a multi-gun match So, a shoot through that causes the target to fall is a reshoot? for REF? Any idea where I can find more detail on that? I'm a total noob on the rule book. I wasn't wanting to be that much of an "azzhole" LOL - more of a risk/reward where a slight miss may not necessarily be a penalty. Just to tempt the PCC guys to take a 30 yd shot, VS going all the way to the end to take a 12 yd. But , if a shoot through where the plate falls would be a reshoot - I'll definitely not go that route. Thanks
  14. Nope not even close, but you sure seem to like spending other peoples money. You admit - it may not be necessary, but what the heck, it's only $300.00. Why not do something that takes longer, costs more, may not be necessary. as the other poster stated, he has seen about everything used. THAT, is what I'm wondering/asking. I guess I could put down astro turf, and a retractable roof as well. It would only take xxx number of shooters........
  15. LOL, no problem, BUT - I already have the rope setup, from 3 gun matches. I do have 50+ of 4' 2x2's that we use for start, and fault lines that separate shoot/no shoot areas in a stage.
  16. Says "should" not "shall" the stages I want to design will take a hundred or more feet per stage. If that is mandatory, no problem, but a staked raised rope fault line is, cheaper, easier, and faster. Then again it seems a raised rope line could be used as a "barrier".
  17. What are acceptable fault lines on a level 1 match? Do they have to be (1 1/2" or 3/4" depending on surface) can a raised rope be a fault line, or just considered a barrier? Here's the start of a stage, still needs some final adjustments, but how should the fault lines be done? I have laid out a few pieces of wood where I am thinking. Give me some pointers. I'll try an clarify what's needed. The rope "fault line" I'm talking about is what's on this stage. Still need to change them if needed. Any tips on this stage as well
  18. I never consciously see the dot, ever, just as I can not say I put the safety on. Also why the glass size on a RDS doesn't matter. Focus on the target
  19. SO it sounds like the OP wants a longer stage time? I've had PCC guys, (in my opinion) try and shoot the final shots of a stage in a way that the timer will miss them.
  20. It's funny - sad, but funny. A guy has some sort of malfunction, if he happens to shoot Open, many will say "Yup Open gun" Another guy same malfunction with a Glock (or any other gun) nobody says a word. RO a few matches, you will see as many, or more malfunctions, per capita , in any other division.
  21. The shape of the baffles is what makes a comp effective
  22. Yes, a reworked rifle comp doesn't work correctly
  23. This PCC comp has had the same response as his Cannibal AR comp. So far, 100% of guys who shot a test rifle, have bought one. I also have a specific PCC comp he made for "Hot" loads, just like an Open pistol comp tuned for more gas. Works fantastic, however my hot loads are too fast for most PCC matches. They crono at 1850-1875fps. They shoot really flat - about 1 1/2" drop at 100 yds when zeroed at 50.?
