  1. Anyone from Eastern PA or NJ etc want to carpool out to this match? I'm thinking drive out Friday, shoot Saturday and drive home after shooting.
  2. At the risk of getting in trouble . . . I think there's another pistol game that may be more what you're looking for . . . I would venture a guess that open has low participation due to your state's laws. Open is alive and well across the border here in PA.
  3. Ohio is not so bad, I have crossed it alone. I was thinking more of having someone to take turns driving with . . I think it's about an 11 hour drive.
  4. I think set up is Saturday. I'll still be early Dean said set up will start a 7:30 on Sunday.
  5. This about sums it up. Especially if you're shooting any major matches and would like to contend for a trip to the prize table. (I'm not condoning sandbagging. Simply stating that just barely squeaking into the next higher class by focusing solely on classifiers artificially inflates classification) On a side note, we REALLY need some 30 round field course classifiers.
  6. I'm quite partial to the Wilson Combat 47D magazines.
  7. Hi Shaun. What is your price range? There are many great gunsmiths out there who would be happy to build you a great open gun. Many of them are in the dealer tent here on the forum. Have you given any thought to 9mm? You'll find at a lot of matches you'll be busy resetting steel, taping targets etc and will need to leave a lot of your brass lay. That's painful with .38SC brass, not so much with 9mm.
  8. When you look at match results, where are you finishing in relation to B and C shooters? Are you consistently finishing top C? Middle of B? Middle of C? If you're not consistently winning C, maybe it's just not time to move to B yet. Work on whatever skills need work to get you there rather than focusing on classifiers so much. The letter next to your name will change when it's time.
  9. Let me know when you get your press and we'll figure out a time to get her set up.
  10. I'm trying really hard to find someone from my area who wants to go to this match. I'm not sure I want to drive to IN from PA alone.
  11. I'm excited for this one. I'll be there between 7:30 and 8:00 to help set up the stages. Hopefully we'll have a big group of people helping to set up like at the USPSA match last month.
  12. Sorry for bringing such an old thread back from the dead, but I didn't want to start a new one since this one exists. One of my C-Mores is acting odd. I zeroed it a couple of weeks ago. I took the gun to the range yesterday and fired about 100 rounds, all hit point of aim. I put that gun down and shot another gun for a while. Picked up the gun in question again and couldn't hit ANYTHING. Turned out the zero had shifted about 6.5". The gun was just laying on the table!!!!! Adjustment lock screw was still tight. All mounting screws are tight. There are no cracks in the body. Maybe try a new dot module?
  13. Open gun? How's that load with N320 work the comp for you?
  14. Recoil is a non-issue. The muzzle is just flipping more than my major load. I wanted to stay away from the super light bullets because a knock down steel match and I want to make sure everything falls when I hit it.
  15. I'm working on trying to find a nice load for a big annual knock down steel match. I'm shooting a 9mm open gun and the match has a velocity limit of 1300fps so my major load is a no-go. So far I've tried 4.4gr of Titegroup and 6.8gr of HS-6 behind a 124gr bullet. Both loads give a little more muzzle flip than I'd like. I'm wondering if trying to get a minor load to shoot as flat as my major load is a lost effort and I should just pick one and go with it?
  16. This was the only thing I could think of as well. Which bullets are you using?
  17. Happen to have a phone number or email address or some form of contact info? Or is he still not taking orders?
  18. The division is already open to people who don't want to shoot 9mm major or 38 super. They can shoot 9mm minor or .40 if they want. It's not like you HAVE to shoot major to shoot open. Making it a minor only division doesn't make any sense.
  19. Let us know if you end up with a cracked grip . . .
  20. Exactly my point. The best open shooter in the country shot 79% A's at a major match. If he's doing that, then who exactly is shooting 95% A's?
