  1. Shooters meeting is 30 minutes prior to the match so just be on time for that and you will be fine. Thanks Mike! Do we have a round count for the match?
  2. Yep, that's right. So why would it reciprocate while you're shooting?
  3. Now Mike, you're going to kick yourself after thinking about this. The charging handle on an AR-15 doesn't reciprocate during shooting . . .
  4. When selecting .223 bullets, is anything as good or better than the Hornady 55gr FMJBT when looked at from a cost vs. accuracy ratio standpoint? I can't make any major matches this year, and the max distance for rifle at the 3 gun matches around here is 200 yards. Barrel is a stainless 1:8" twist. I've gotten acceptable 200 yard accuracy from Federal XM193, but since I already have a bunch of .223 brass prepped, I think I can save a little bit of money by handloading my rifle ammo for the rest of the season.
  5. Noveske or LaRue. Both use quality stainless barrels. Or build your own upper with a Noveske stainless barrel.
  6. I'm looking for a list of matches being held within reasonable driving distance from PA. This is not limited to major matches - local matches more than welcome. Shot my first 3 gun match of the year yesterday and forgot how much I love it.
  7. I've continued to strike out hunting for used ones. Happen to know anyone manufacturing metal ones?
  8. Anyone know where I can buy Tec Loaders without having to buy the entire kit? I don't need a bracket, pouch, etc, just a few more of the loaders themselves.
  9. I'm shooting Sunday AM. What time should I be at the range?
  10. Watch the rest of his videos. The dude is funny.
  11. Fantastic match today. Thanks to Dean and crew for putting it on!
  12. I have two emails and two voicemails in to them asking about 147gr availability. It's been two weeks and I've heard nothing back. Not sure what's going on there.
  13. That price is out of line. Powder Valley has them for $77/k.
  14. That's not major . . . unless that's a typo and you meant 1350fps?
  15. I lubricate the barrel hood/locking area with Slide Glide Lite and I basically fill the slide rails with oil (either FP-10 or Machine Gunner's lube). Haven't had any issues with this method.
  16. The weight difference is negligible to the point of being completely irrelevant. With that being said, if you want a gun you can take out of the box and go shoot a match the same day, the Pro is a great choice. If you're going to replace the fire control parts and sights anyway and can find the 9L cheaper, it's a no-brainer.
  17. That would be fine for a "normal" gun like a Glock or something. In all reality when it comes to 9mm major, there is nothing in a reloading manual that is going to be applicable at all. Most 9mm open guns are 2011 platform guns, which will accept much longer OAL ammo and will run more reliably with longer ammo as well. And as far as powder charges, you'll never see anything in a manual that even approaches 9mm major.
  18. Same advice...If you are buying lb to lb then you'll have to check. If you can, buy a 4lb or 8lb and shoot it till its empty. I actually shoot the same combo as the OP. 3.2gr of Solo 1000 under a 147 BBI. This shoots 132pf in my M&P Pro. with a 13lb spring it feels like a 22. The biggest issue I have is going from this to my open gun. Feels like I'm shooting a S&W 500. Did your gun run reliably with the stock spring?
  19. I use 8.3gr of HS-6 with Montana Gold 124's at 1.170". Do you own a chronograph? If the answer is no, you should really, really get one before loading 9mm major.
  20. Which shops? I'm looking for N320 stocking dealers in PA.
