  1. I don't remember the last time I had a live fire practice session. I actually feel a lot better at a match though if I don't touch my gun at all the week before it.
  2. Either a light recoil master or a 9lb spring with standard guide rod.
  3. Shooting Limited with 13 + 1 is like competing in the tour de france with a unicycle. Bad idea.
  4. I definetely do retract the gun in a wide transition. The first two of your downsides aren't actual downsides tot he technique...you just aren't familiar with it enough yet. It replaces 1 technique with 2, but there is a lot of stuff we have 2 techniques for. Surrender and Hands at sides draw. Reload to freestyle, weakhand, strong hand. Entering a box on an easy shot or a hard shot. Leaving the box on an easy shot or a hard shot. With practice it will become 2nd nature just like any other technique. Just make sure you program it well during the walk through.
  5. I just look at them whenever....just have to train yourself to look objectively at them and not let them have an effect on your game.
  6. 2.26? Mother of God...
  7. About 1.1 or 1.2...For some reason I can reload faster with a Limited gun then I can with an Open gun. I think the balance of the gun is different without the scope mount.
  8. Is there anything other than an A hit? Of course. Not necessarily an A in the head....but everywhere else.
  9. Are you sure it was a double? An .11 split isn't all that fast. A double with a glock would probably be around .06.
  10. I would say a 7 yard target, in any division with a mag well. I'd say a reload split for a head shot at 10 yards should be about 1.0 - 1.1 on demand.
  11. I would say that a GM time (if it were to be consistent with the performance of their other abilities) should be a .8 on demand.
  12. How is 6 shots a draw test? Run the drill how Max made it...I'm sure he made it like that for a reason.
  13. I've never heard a logical reason to not have one. They have many legitamate advantages and no disadvantages.
  14. It's not necessarily important to bring the point series to the masses for competing, just for viewing. The NASCAR point series is just that....a professional point series that generates interest.
  15. Seems to be like it happened during loading if it is before the start signal.
  16. It sucks for tall people, but there really is no way around it. Tall people can get lower to the ground...short people can't get taller.
  17. I don't see how a short person has an advantage going prone....either way they start and end up in the same position.
  18. I shoot Open, and I use supercomp brass. I also know that even though the open gun is around 2500 - 3k, but the reason I am not practicing at all right now is I simply can't afford the brass.
  19. Memorize Travis Tomasie's technique....do 10,000 dry fire reloads a week.
  20. Practical shooting was never meant to only test shooting skill. Every aspect must be tested....saying a short course is a better test than a long course is totally false. A long course tests things that can't be tested in a short course.
