  1. I would be a little bit leery about adding un-needed weight to a rifle...
  2. The holster didn't cut your draw down...you are the one pulling the trigger.
  3. ????? I am definetely not built anything like TGO...and it works great for me.
  4. My guess would be that controlling the irresitable urge to...open the portal...takes your mind off of trying and just lets ya shoot.
  5. I would say from beginner all the way up until they make GM. At GM, live fire starts taking precedence.
  6. I was too scared to act like that when my Dad as around...Still am as a matter of fact.
  7. spook, I see what you are saying, and would normally agree. The only difference is that I am doing neither of the two reloading methods you mentioned. I am accelerating the same as I normally would without a reload....just reloading before I get any speed up. That said I'll say once again that this is just the fastest way for me and my body type. And also....crap happens...I've been known to occasionally blow reloads. The reason I like reloading on the move like I do, is that the gun hasn't started moving with your body yet. It kind of gets rid of an extra variable in the reload, which is the main reason I believe it is more consistent.
  8. spook, Yes you are right on both those accounts. I see however think that method is more reliable then Eric's for a few reasons. 1) When you are actually moving while reloading it is much harder to get a mag into the gun. 2) It greatly increases the chances of not being ready coming into position. 3) You aren't moving as fast as you could be because you are reloading. That being said, that may be the perfect way for Eric to do it...it just doesn't work for me, and I wouldn't teach that to my students.
  9. I think the best course of action is to work more difficult shots into matches slowly. Have at least 1 stage at local and state level matches that are standards. Require at least two stages to have 40 yard shots at area matches. Drop a frog into a pot of boiling water and it will jump out. Put the frog into cool water then heat it and the frog will cook itself to death.
  10. I feel obliged to mention that in the early stages of your devlopment, dry fire is much more important than live fire. The ratio should be about 80% - 20%.
  11. Ok I lied. Here is the video of reloading on the move (live fire). Reload on the move (live fire)
  12. Here ya go guys. The targets are 2 poppers at about 15 yards. This video is made to illustrate the importance of where your focus is during a stage. 1) Call the shot 2) Eyes on the magwell till the mag is seated 3) Eyes to where you are going 4) Eyes on the target 5) Call the shot Getting the reload done quickly is absolutely essential to have crisp movement between positions. Reload on the move
  13. Soon....it's like 25 degrees here right now. Might get good video at a match this weekend.
  14. Look at it this way. What you are saying is "action work" means only working on the existing action with factory parts. As soon as you modify a factory part in any way...it is no longer factory. This includes something even as basic as cutting a single coil of a spring. So by your standards of what the ruling says, we have just totally disallowed trigger work of any kind.
  15. Just because he is the world champ doesn't mean he does everything right. He is an incredibly good shooter, but honestly there are many things about his technique I don't like at all. Eric Grauffel wins because he is the most consistent shooter in the world.
  16. The thing about the enhancing reliablility clause is that it is totally unenforceable. Once the mod has been made, all someone has to do is say "yeah, the gun wasn't working before this...now it is" and there is absolutely no way of proving that claim true or false.
  17. Ok let me put the question this way....What about a Limited gun would have made those stages faster than an Open gun?
  18. Jeez. The best thing I could say if that you have to be able to detach yourself from your surroundings.
  19. Dale, Whenever I look at videos of myself I ALWAYS see placed where I can shave time. The gun movement is down to just about as little as possible. You don't want to reload too far away from your body because you lose almost all of your fine motor control, the gun has to be tilting to you can see the magwell and look the reload in. zhunter, Thanks bro! I wouldn't go that far....TT is still my hero.
  20. With that mag button I have on there I do not need to shift my grip (I can just barely reach it). If I do have to shift my grip though, the gun hits the exact same way points, there is just more movement as the gun shifts from side to side.
  21. I've said it before and I'll say it again... Just aim.
  22. What makes you say the match was best for a Limited gun? That looks like a very very very fast match for an Open shooter.
