  1. I'm pretty sure the grip and slide contouring are not legal in production. Guide rods are OK , and replacement barrels of the same general dimensions as stock.. Magwell is not allowed in Production. Travis F.
  2. That , and whatever your strength is , don't use all of it .( too much force = shake ). A loose grip doesn't seem to affect accuracy if your trigger pull is well honed. Isolation of the movement of the trigger finger from the rest of the hand is the key. Just .02 from a C shooter. Travis F.
  3. My experience has been that the 40 Glock brass shows alot more of the belly than 45 or 9 brass . Just .02 from casual observation. Travis F.
  4. 45 until it splits. If you are shooting a Glock or other 40 with a huge chamber , don't load them very many times. Standard 40 chambers ( aftermarket ) are easier on brass and can be loaded a bunch of times. Just .02 Travis F.

    Cable Modem

It really is a new Millennium , I got a cable modem too . YEAH ! Travis F.
  6. I have used the Ranier 250 Gr. FP . Works great on pins , recoil was " soft " , sucks on long range moving targets ( too slow ). By the time the bullet gets there on long swingers etc. , the target is gone . Travis F.
  7. I have a KKM in my G35 , use an EGW die in an XL650 , and once fired Glock brass . I have a few that won't case guage , most of these will still drop in the KKM barrel . The KKM chamber is tighter than the stock barrel by quite a bit , but is larger than my case guage . Go for it ! Travis F.
  8. Ditto on the mags , OEM worked great , Promag sucked . Mine shot pretty well , and never jammed with FMJ Win. white box . Travis F.
  9. I put on a set of the Sevigny / Warren sights and used my Dawson supplied tool to tighten the screw . Both went on just fine . Travis F.
  10. When the brass has alot of black dust and residue on it after tumbling I change mine . Wiping out the bowl as mentioned above , and adding a couple of used dryer sheets to each load extends the useful life of my petstore walnut media greatly. Travis F.
  11. Henny , You can do it ! The physical withdrawl is over in less than a week , after that it's all about breaking the habit . You will notice certain things trigger the urge more than others . It's just an association made by years of repetition and reinforcement with nicotine . It's all in your head ( not that this makes it any easier , it's still freakin hard ). It's an interesting opportunity to examine the mechanism of addiction, and realize that most of the drive to continue is based in delusion. Just do it. Travis F.
  12. Joey, I broke 2 of these , just call Dillon and they will send you one. Use a paperclip with a bent end to fish the little spring underneath around to where it attatches . I think these are designed to break before any ofthe other stuff gets tweaked . Check the tightness of your bolts that hold the platform to the press frame to be sure they are tight . There is an alignment tool available from Dillon if you suspect that the platform may be misaligned. My problems seemed to stem from a binding primer feed wheel , when this locked up the press would stop , and when the handle was forced down the indexer snapped. You might check that while you have it apart. Just .02 Travis F.
  13. Peter, Bullseye is the most user friendly powder I have known in 45 ACP. Hard to find a load that isn't good . Dirty load compared to Clays ( super clean ). Clean your gun every 400 - 500 rounds and shoot alot . Travis F.
  14. Kahuna, I am also shooting a G35 with a KKM barrel . If you don't modify the trigger guard this same gun can be used in production without the magwell ( or extended mag release , etc. ) This is just my .02 , in order of importance to myself. 1. Trigger , the Sotelo kit is a huge improvement over stock , I hear the Vanek is better yet. 2. Sights , I have the Sevigny / Warren on my G35 , and a Heinie / Dawson combo on my G17 ( Fiber optic front sight ) Both are good choices IMHO . 3. CR Speed belt and versa pouches , much better presentation of mags with this setup . It's also adaptable to almost any gun rig with the proper holster . The pouches fit everything from singlestack to Glock to S_I to whatever with replacable ( included ) inserts. 4. Get a few Arredondo or Dawson extended base pads . I have both and one the Arredondo's holds 20 , Dawsons hold 19 . 5. The holster is good , as is . AND get the shot timer and 10K bullets ... Just .o2 Travis F.
  15. Titegroup didn't really impress me in 45 at all. ( I finally found another load for minor 40 that it does work pretty well in though. ) Currently loading Vectan/Noblesport BA-10 ( similar in burn rate to Clays ) under 230's . Clays is THE cleanest powder ever in 45 and would be an excellent choice. I still think Bullseye would be my next choice after Clays , It's a little dirty , has a little more muzzle flash than some other powders ( daylight outdoors you would never notice ), But it's so easy to work with , It's tough to find a bad load over a sensible amount of Bullseye from 185 - 230 Gr. bullets. LONGSHOT is great for firebreathing pin loads . Not really suited to IPSC shooting . Loud , bright muzzle flash , maximum velocity , very manly . Chicks dig it . Travis F.
  16. Amen. I actually tested this ( on accident ), the first batch of cases I sorted right out of the bag . When checked after prep , it was a waste of time . Trimming seemed to account for most of the variance. Travis F.
  17. Congrats to all ! Keep it up ! Staying quit is still hard for me . I still use tobacco in some of my dreams . Remember , "just one " will NOT be alright. You will notice a difference in your body , and like it . Travis F.
  18. Anybody tried one under a nonventilated carbon fiber handguard ? Might give a little more metal to sink the barrel heat into and still be cool to the touch ? Travis F.
  19. I feel for you ! Gasoline works well on these little Ba$3&*^ds without matches also . Travis F.
  20. I'm not sure ifthis is the same stuff Dillon sold years ago , theirs was headstamped " RG " and my rifle would not function well with it at all. YMMV My son's rifle digested it with no problems , not sure about accuracy compared to anything else . Travis F.

    Cancer

Scooter, Don't be too pessimistic ! My wife has been kicking stage 4 cancers A$$ for 2 and a half years now and all is well. Modern treatments are much better than in the past . FIGHT ! Travis F.
  22. I made minor in 40 on with both powders , just barely minor , in my quest for a 172 ish PF major load. I have not ever tried to load 40's at 125-130 PF. I assume from your post you are looking to load 40 minor ? TG burns alot cleaner in major 40 than in major 45 . Maybe it burns fine in minor 40 too , I dunno. I'm thinking N320 would still burn fairly well , even at sub minor PF loads. I could also be wrong. Travis F.
  23. Just when I thought I had achieved true mastery of smartasserie , greatness shows me I am but an egg , I have so much to learn ... Travis F.
  24. I would choose N320 over TG for minor 40. For major you could use either with good results. Just unresearched .02 from some guy. Travis F.
