  1. I'm not sure about this one but usually it's 4 classifiers and 1 field course so at least 4 C-fiers. Walk through is between 9 and 10 am. Directions to the range are at http://www.universalshootingacademy.com/
  2. Frank Garcia's place i.e. Frostproof is having a special classifier match on Sunday the 14th of December.
  3. You have to know were it is to see it.#1 It does not need to see were it is to know were it is.#2
  4. "But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds", Declares the Lord.... Jeremiah 30:17 Ruth and yourself are on our prayer list. Hope and Faith above all else.
  5. Sorry Vince but it is not a good idea. Our sport is as safe as it is because of our cold range policy and it should stay that way. If you get out of your vehicle before you enter the range and unload then you are not breaking any "cold range" rules anyway because the rules only apply on the range property. If you set an area like this up on range property then there is to much room for people to push it. How many folks are we going to have standing around an "unload area" doing draws with loaded mags in thier guns for accurate weight etc. etc. It just leaves to much room for a big OOPS! OH! Smitty, I doen't shoot my carry gun either, It makes to expensive a target
  6. Sounds good to me. In ipsc, " Gaming " is a word used by those who can't think of their own way too shoot a stage. This sport is " Freestyle " and it is stipulated by course descriptions and shooting possisions. If it is not written or stated in the course description and doesn't break safety or other rule book issues then it is fair game, even if you are the only one that thought of it. I get sick of hearing " Well, the intent was " or " Everyone else just knew ". Rant Off !
  7. I have two words " AF TEC", ( Insert the duck voice from the insurance commercials ) Get it tuned by a Aftec, carry extra springs for it and never worry again.
  8. I would have to say central Florida ( Orlando area ) . There is a match within 2 hrs. every Sat. and Sun., Our Orlando range has a 3 gun every 5th Sat., A couple of these ranges even have 3 gun matches every month. We have quite a few big shooters down here also, there's a monthly match at Frank Garcia's place and we have Armando Valdes, and Paul Whitacre just to name a couple and Chris Tilley along with a lot of other GM's always shoot our state, area, and Fl. open matches. We shoot year-round and it is very rare that I show up to a match that has fewer than 25-30 shooters. OH! There's also the fact that Fl. is a very Pro-gun state. Man, I love this place.
  9. Question: Does your weakhand move "up" on the gun as you shoot? Heres why I ask. You said that you have this problem with your 1911 primarily so the issue may be easily fixed by checkering or grip-taping the radius of your trigger gaurd. O.K. Here's the issue I'm addressing, Your Glock has a squared trigger gaurd Which causes your index finger of your weak hand to stop against the bottom of it. The trigger gaurd on the 1911 is radiused which will allow your index finger to slide or roll over it. I realized this issue when I radiused the trigger gaurd on my STI to get a higher grip. It worked great accept I had to grip tape the radius so that my finger wouldn't slide up too high. I hope you catch what I'm trying to say and I really hope this helps.
  10. I haven't moved up yet but something really cool happened this month. I hit 70.518% B-Lim and my shooting partener hit 70.516% B-Lim. How close in percentage can two people that are best friends and shoot together all the time get? I just wonder who is at 70.517 B-Lim.
  11. After seeing Leos I stopped by Michaels on my way home from the match and purchased 1 bag ea. of red, white, and blue silica sand used for kids sand art and some 5 min epoxy. When I got home I stripped down my Blaster, took all the checkering off of the grip, got out the masking tape and went to work. Now the right side is red, left side is blue with a white front strap. I love it! I no longer use pro-grip and, no matter how sweaty my hands get, there's zero slipage.
  12. Schuemann Ultimatch or Nowlin. I have a Schuemann with 60,000+ rounds and I still stay inside 2" at 25yds. I do clean it about every 1500 to 2000 rnds and shoot Black bullets which are a molly coated lead.
  13. I'm a nut for old Corvettes and Hot Rod movies and this one has a "58" Vette in it. I did mess up posting it though because it was made in 1967. i also like "Rebel Without a Cause". For information about "Hotrods to Hell" go to http://www.hotrodstohell.com

    Straight A's

My 11 yr. old son brought a letter home refering to his high grades in advanced classes asking for a meeting about grade year advancement ( skipping 6th grade and going on to 7th next year ). While we were all discussing this I made the comment to my 2 yr. old " See, If you get straight A's you can skip grades" at which time Chase ( the 11 yr. old ) said " Yea Dad, If you got straight A's you would skip A class and go straight to Master class." He's smart in more ways than just one. :0
  15. Shred is 100% on this. All the good IPSC shooters that I talk to, by good I mean Master or above, tell me that draw time is not as important as people make it out to be and that it is much more important to make sure your grip is right and your hit is good because a .9 C hit adds up to about a 1.3 A hit. I doen't even work on draw times any more. I only work on makeing sure I have my grip when I come out of my holster and my sights are on the A zone and since I changed to practiceing this way my draw times have lowered. I'm a B class Limited shooter and my draws @ 10 yds. and closer are usually around 1.1-1.2, 1.2-1.4 @ 10-20yds. and so on depending on no-shoot placement of course
  16. She gives a whole new meaning to the word "Hummer", or maby it's an old meaning. Which ever
  17. What is really sad is that the guy isn't smart enough to realize that Matt B. could start hand-cuffed behind the back and still out-draw him. To bad the thread was closed. (Edited by Bigbadaboom at 5:59 pm on Sep. 22, 2002)
  18. Eric is right on with Titanic. I would rather watch a cat hack up hair balls onto my shoes than watch 2 mins. of any movie with that DeCrapio guy in it.
