  1. I have that exact same safe and it works great. I got it at Lowes and it's time for me to get a second one. I only keep my guns in a safe so that others (Mainly my Children) do not have easy access to them. I do not depend on a safe to keep thieves from getting them (Which this safe will do a good job of as long as it's bolted down). You should definintely get all your firearms insured. Nothing is impenetrable.
  2. I would have a blast! With all that positive energy of having that much fun I have to learn a lot. I understand that it would burn some people out but I just love shooting too much.
  3. It's a good thing to see no Friday flamer @ 5:50 pm Eastern in the "What I Hate" forum. I hope this means that everyone had a decent week and everything went well. I hope this for everyone.

Paul, There is absolutely nothing that anyone can say that will ease your anguish. I know this from experience. All I can tell you is that you and yours are in our prayers and that being with your Mother during these times as much as possible is very important now and in your future; Every second is precious. Love and honor her the best you can. And , yes, dealing with the Doctors sucks. They are impartial and unemotional during one of the most emtional times in your life. It's not their fault, they have to stay professional because they could not perform at their best if they get too emtionally attached. Take comfort in the times you have and have had with your Mother and know that we all care for you and her. God bless and comfort her.
  5. I've had an epiphany that may help me (and hopefully others) gain insite into how to get mentally motivated. I shot last weekend with a group of people whom I usually don't shoot with and I had a decent/good match. This weekend my group was back together and we hung out and squaded together and I shot like I had never held a gun before. I sat and thought this through on the 1-1/2 hour ride home and I realized that the group I shot with last weekend has a pretty positive attitude in respect to the sport, and the other group (The one from today) states a lot of negative issues while we're shooting i.e. "I never get time to practice!", "I haven't picked my gun up in a month", "Those far away targets suck", etc. etc.. The group from last weekend talked about practice techniques and what can be done here and there to improve and what was done here and there that improved as of late, etc. I'm changing my receptive input and I am not going to allow any negative programming in. I've decided that any negative statements, conversations or attitudes will be shunned by me. I've realized that negative input = negative output and positive input = positive output and I want the latter.
  6. A vertical forgrip is very "Practical" if you use a Beta C-Mag. If you use regular 30-40 rounders then it's pretty much whatever floats your boat.
  7. I think that these stages should have their own scoring, meaning that any target hit less than twice should receive the appropriate misses but if a multiple viewed target has 4 holes in it then all hits get counted. Time devided by points. This is probably a screwed up idea but then, I also think no-shoots should be scored -5 for D,C, & B hits and -10 For A hits. Why the hell should you be penalized the same for wounding as you would be for killing?
  8. I hate when two of your sub-contractors get in a fight on your job site with the Owners Rep. standing there watching.
  9. Swageing trumps casting. Swaging gives a more consistant size because the lead is not heated and does not expand and contract while being processed. Reference here: http://www.corbins.com/bpbullet.htm
  10. The whole move reminds me more of Neo dodging the bullets when being shot at by the Agent on the roof of the "Government" building. In "The Matrix" we saw it in slo-mo but I guess that's what it looked like in real-time.
  11. PaulW, Does this mean you're going to be shooting a little "Limited" division? That gun's too pretty to shoot?
  12. Great videos Sharyn. Man, I wish I could have made that match with you guys/gals.
  13. Sorry but if the guy has been shooting IPSC for 20 years and everything played out as was stated then he should be D.Q.ed for life IMHO.
  14. Yeah, Marshall still stays at it. He started in action shooting in 1976. Here's yesterdays scores; Match Date: 11/12/2005 Combined divisions - These are NOT offical results. 15. Yes, Aluma grips will fit S_I standard, single stack 1911 frames.
  16. That looks better. I admire the way this whole discussion is tuning out. It is inspiring. Spook, It doesn't matter what was written in an artical or what others' perceptions are of the results at WSXIV. What matters is that you did what you did the way that you did it and achived something that very few others ever have. I didn't read in that article that Jerry said "Them boys are only this close to me 'cause I'm sick". I read that he gave you props for your skills and "THAT'S" what matters. There's a hell of a lot of Revolver shooters out there that would pay a lot of money to have you teach them. Be Proud!
  17. I hate that my dog flipped over the tailgate of my truck when I took off after the light turned green at a busy intersection while I was taking him to the Groomer this morning. He's O.K., I drive an S-10 Pick-up so he didn't fall very far but it scared the crap out of me. I hate it that I bought a new Tri-pod for my Chrono and all the parts weren't in the box and now I have to go through the hassle of taking it back.
  18. ( In the voice of Rob Schneider ) You can doooo it!!!!! Really, your only hope is to hire John Travolta or Patrick Swayze. Swayze would be the cheapest. Good luck.
  19. I hope this is the straw that breaks the back of the SCOTUS and finally forces them to make a decision regarding the 2nd amendment.
