  1. Duane: I've owned the 14 & 30 since they were introduced in '74. The 14 is the only gun that I purchased and subsequently sold. Since it was semi and you could purchase hi-cap aftermarket magazine, it was a great plinker/target gun. That is until the barrel got hot and then I couldn't keep a shot on paper at 100 yds. I was never enamored with the .223 round and the newness wore off. I don't see where the Mini fits in the role of SD. Self defense in my thinking is ±7 yards where a shotgun or pistol would be better suited inside the home. Unless you are trying to eliminate threats at distances where the handgun and shotgun ballistics fall short, I can't grasp the idea. But then your intended reader and idea of SD may not be in line with mine. TAPCO could possibly be the lady owner's initials Theresa Allison Peterson Company. Now I do not know the actual name of the owner but used the name only as an illustration!
  2. +1 but I bump up the initial drops to 10-15 then dump back into measure, make adjustments and throw 10 measuring them together. Adjust accordingly take another 10 to the measure. If I can toss 10 rounds within ±.1 gr the target, I lock and load.
  3. Teddy quotes are always appreciated and respected.
  4. Poke: You can't go wrong or be directed to any better place than here: http://www.brianenos.com/store/dillon.ez.550.html
  5. Way too logical, but probably could remember packing a shoe drying gizmo!
  6. The 9 uses S&W Model 59 mags (12 rounds) and as mentioned 16" barrel. It basically takes 2 hands to remove the magazine with the mag release. The brass does eject with about the same force as the bullet!
  7. Several members, including me shoot the M&P. I have fullsize in 40 and the 45 on order. You might want to browse the M&P forum as there is also a great deal of information on springs, rods and troubleshooting. http://mp-pistol.com/boards/
  8. I have both, although mine are the 686s and have shot thousands of rounds through each. Frankly, I don't notice an appreciable difference in recoil between them. Recoil is subjective to each individual. For me the additional 2" is benefical at longer distances. A 681 4" has been my carry gun for years.
  9. Ahhhhh, it is worth whatever someone is willing to pay. I've seen 34's at local shops priced between $480-525.
  10. I received a Cabella's order from mid-February today for 5k small primers. An e-mail also about lg pistol primer portion still on back order with a late June date on availability and to contact them if i still want this order.
  11. New T's, Tax Day, Tea Party...Tremdous price, Touch of mouse reverses the T's...Dunno
  12. Nah...its the unveiling of new T's on the same day of the T-Parties, which was the 15th of April, not a coincidence.
  13. Here is a novel idea. You have the stage designs prior to even registering, in most instances. Make copies of them. The are also posted at the match. Eliminate the 5 minute walk through. Everyone has the same plan, shoot and score the best you are able. 2¢
  14. I'm a member of Bayou Shooters forum. They can get a bit far right at times. This morning I saw this post. http://www.bayoushooter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15830 S
  15. Now that make more sense than trying to figure out what a normal motored person would do with it!
  16. I joined a group buy on primers, 600 lbs or pallet load, and price including S&H on Winchester primers worked out to $21.00 per k . Shipped date was the past Monday.
  17. Just finished reading the Steel Challenge Match Rules & Conditions and stumbled at bit at this: "WOMEN’S CATEGORY" If you were born a woman, you qualify. Was this an issue that it had to be expressed in writing?
  18. Very expensive, but shown in stock http://www.impactguns.com/store/022188127942.html

    FTP program?

    Dave: I've used this for 3 years...no learning curve http://filezilla-project.org/ S
  20. Joe: Your old hd placed in an external enclosure will likely not be accessible without your investment into some heavy software (read expensive), since it is a formatted drive, your new registry would not be able to 'open' it. What I would do is grab a cheap power supply and get the old box running. Then backup all of your files to either an external hd, dvd/cd or an online service, ie carbonite. Cheap ps cost about $30 around here. You will then have complete set of files for your new build. S
  21. Matt: I'll show my ignorance here...I understand the slide handle on your gun, but what is the thumb rest thing for? S
  22. Jimmy, happy birthday. In just 10 more years you will be eligible to endure doctors putting things in you that God never intended.
  23. Honey, guess what!!! Atlanta was running a buy 1 get 2 free unanounced special for one day only that fell on the day I ordered the 1k...It's a sign that the luck gawds are smiling and our home will sell quickly....
