Sent a so-called "Priority Mail" package from MA to TX which was supposed to take 2 days - package tracking showed that it disappeared into the regional facility in TX for 12 days (on top of the 2 it took to get to the regional center). That's 14 days for supposedly "2-3 day" delivery.

Please let me know how the Metrologic scanner issue works out. The only two barcodes we have tested with are the two listed on the EzWinScore page (Acan and Litel LC-80).

I don't see any benefit to this - if you're using barcode, the Stage+Competitor number is a single barcode, and one scan operation. Convince me Rob

Some companies insist the employee vacate the premises the instant a resignation is turned in since they no longer have job termination leverage over the individual. They may not trust everyone to act professionally when their behavior is no longer secured by this threat, and they are at legal risk if they do not treat everyone the same - just imaging telling a minority they had to leave immediately and allowing a non-minority to work their notice period. Not all companies lack class though - I have heard of some of the companies with such a "leave immediately" policy paying people for a reasonable notice period.

Correct. The ban on > 10 round magazines is contained in a different section of the law than the AW ban. The AW ban has a competitor exemption; the mag ban does not. One must have *personally possessed* the mags in CA prior to the ban to be legal. CA enforces this vigorously, and for all practical purposes, the burden of proof is on the person in possession of the magazine. I wish people would stop making up non-existent exemptions to the law that could get someone into serious trouble (I know of cases where CA prosecuted possession of 30 round magazines as felonies, on count per magazine).

I have the large Dillon and it works great as long as I screw the lid down well enough. I hear they had to change motor suppliers and you can't buy motor replacements for the old units, but the 50% off is a better deal than anyone else out there will give you on a 20+ year old unit for which parts are no longer available - especially when you consider that, unlike other vendors, Dillon products do not enter the distribution chain at 40-60% off of retail. 15+ year on my Dillon tumbler and still working great. I cut the power cord and put the plug on a very short cord, and connect it to an extension cord - that way, when I carry the unit out my walkout basement to run the sifter outside, I don't have a long cord to deal with.

One think worth noting is the limited number of slots - 72 on Sat, 72 on Sun plus staff/sponsors on Fri. Others can get into Friday squads by asking, but we'll be touching up the stages Friday AM, may not start exactly on time, and will be assigning squads from Friday only on match day (people shooting Friday will be scheduled in 1 squad and we will break up into squads at the shooter's meeting). $60.00 for the match - the club has a large prop inventory and tells me they don't need to hammer people on the entry fee to put on a decent match.

This has been covered before, but I'll answer anyhow. The gun is an Infinity IMM Open, iron sighted, 45 caliber. This is one of the guns originally built for the Miami Vice movie, and it's appearance in Heroes was as much of a surprise to the folks at the factory as it was to the Enosverse. The gun does not appear in the Miami Vice movie (a Tiki makes a *very* brief appearance), but it does appear in the "making of Miami Vice" extra footage on the DVD. One gets bored on a cross country flight and tends to watch all that extra stuff on the disk .

This is one example of the hidden danger of lawsuit reform. The ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act) contains a provision that someone who suffers a bad outcome due to a failure of employer provided medical insurance to pay for a procedure may sue only for the expenses they incurred in paying for the procedure - not for the adverse outcome. Insurance companies are able to consider this protection when figuring the risk/benefit (to them, not the patient) of authorizing a procedure.

One more detail: USPSA is a 501©(3) IRS recognized charitable organization, and does not have any 'stockholders'. Since USPSA is a non-profit, you can view the public filings at www.guidestar.org - and can view the IRS 990 by setting up a free account. You have to spell out "United States Practical Shooting Association" in the search to find the USPSA record.

None of the services are perfect. I had a USPS EXPRESS (the overnight, not priority, kind) envelops take exactly registration for the Area 7 Championship last year take TWO WEEKS to arrive at my post office box.

That's obviously referring to the gun handling procedures. BGRA is indoors and nicely heated .

Pretty dang close to instant - the easiest way to see this for yourself is to WHOIS a domain at Netsol and then check at Godaddy to see if it is taken.

I hate Networks Solutions (www.netsol.com) whois. If you "whois" a non-existant domain, they register it for themselves for 4 days - which means you have to either register it with them, or risk someone else getting it while you wait for the ICANN error correction period (the time Netsol can hold the domain without paying a fee themselves). This is fraud, plain and simple.

\True, but: 1. NJ did - 15 round limit 2. HI did - 10 round limit 3. CA requires that the pre-ban magazine must have been personally possessed by the individual, in CA, prior to the Caliban. Even pre-ban mags may not be legally sold or purchased. MA and NY are as described - pre 1994 mags are still OK, although you need the right kind of gun license in MA as > 10 round mags are regulated and may not be legally possessed unless your papers are in order.

I expect the info was in the uploaded data, however, the conversion/display code needs a bit of work - I'm investigating it now.

No special exemption is needed to possess rifles in NY provided they would have been legel to sell new during the dark times if 1994-2004. NY has a restatement of the federal AW ban with pre-1994 grandfathering. USPSA handgun matches in MY generally get NRA recognition so that they are covered under the exemption provided for in NY penal law 265.20(13b). Even so, I believe that the rifle match is getting NRA recognition since it certainly can't hurt to have it. The NRA has been fantastic to deal with on getting this sort of recognition for NY based USPSA matches and will also grant recognition, in writing, to a NY club's entire schedule for the year on a single application - and there is no fee for this service.
