Running Windows Millenium with IE and using Bellsouth DSL to connect to the internet. No problems connecting, and no problems browsing this and other websites, but the computer ultimately freezes when I try to access various of my favorite websites. I called Bellsouth and they could find nothing wrong with my settings.
Also, I put disks (including an antivirus disc) in the DVD and CD drives and am not able to run them.
Finally, FWIW, I cannot use start-shutdown to shutdown the computer. It simply will not shut it down (winds up freezing instead). I usually do not care about shutting it down, but thought this might give more insight into the problem.
I was originally running Windows 98, which came installed on the machine. The hard drive crashed and I replaced it. During the reinstall, I could not find Win 98 disks, and that is why I got the computer back up and running with Win Millenium.
