We have a DSL line at work (small business). Everytime I am on the internet, I wind up getting that Microsoft error message--that one that asks whether you want to send Microsoft a message. I hit "do not send" and the internet shuts down. More specifically, I can get on the internet and use Yahoo as my home page. I then navigate to a site. If, for example, I log in to my web-based e-mail, I can open an e-mail, but then get that error message when I want to return to the inbox. This problem also occurs if I, say, look at some pictures on the first page of a website gallery; I look at the pics on the first page and then get the error message when I click to go to another page. Any suggestions?

Moverfive, A computer salesman told me that in June Cingular is coming out with a new type of PC card, which, as I understand it, will be something different than the typical Type II card. I'm thus wondering whether that equates to an upgrade in speed. Any ideas?

Seems like the limited (10mb, 20mb, 30mb, etc.) plans are too small. I guess I'll have to go with the unlimited plan to be pocketbook safe, though that tracking option looks good.

I am looking at getting a Cingular Wireless PC card for my laptop to get internet access when traveling and not in a hot spot. Their unlimited access plan is $60 per month with a two year contract. They have limited plans--10mb of data access per month for $30.00 per month, for example. The question is--how much web browsing and e-mail checking can I do before I reach my monthly limit? Since the limit is not based on minutes like the phone, I am lost in terms of being able to gauge my usage.

Erik, Frank Roderus, whose website is mentioned above, used a Grizzly mini mill to put cocking serrations in a slide (on his Sistema project), to cut a front dovetail sight (also on the Sistema project) and to port a slide (the Commander project). He sells a CD for about $22 that contains a detailed description with pictures of the steps he took on both projects. Well worth the $$$ for anyone considering using a mini mill to work on 1911s.

It's a category 4 now. Crap. Many people are going to live through Hell for a few hours. Hurricane Andrew was a 4 and I will say, unequivocally, I never want to experience that again. Here in Miami we watched it pass by, and I'm real concerned the folk up in the central part of the state do not know what they're in for. I think I should move to Arizona.

Are there any real differences in quality between these tool brands (looking to pick up a cordless drill, hand grinder, and a reciprocating saw). Did I just open the tool equivalent to the STI vs. SVI debate?

Thanks for the ideas. I was able to download spybot and got rid of a ton of files. Overall the computer seemed to work better, but I still have the freezing problem. I tried to download Adaware a couple of times, but the machine froze trying to get there. Would it be worth it to upgrade to XP?

Running Windows Millenium with IE and using Bellsouth DSL to connect to the internet. No problems connecting, and no problems browsing this and other websites, but the computer ultimately freezes when I try to access various of my favorite websites. I called Bellsouth and they could find nothing wrong with my settings. Also, I put disks (including an antivirus disc) in the DVD and CD drives and am not able to run them. Finally, FWIW, I cannot use start-shutdown to shutdown the computer. It simply will not shut it down (winds up freezing instead). I usually do not care about shutting it down, but thought this might give more insight into the problem. I was originally running Windows 98, which came installed on the machine. The hard drive crashed and I replaced it. During the reinstall, I could not find Win 98 disks, and that is why I got the computer back up and running with Win Millenium.

In light of the wiring found in a residential garage, obviously there are limitations on the machines you could use at home. What would be the common power input specs on a machine for use at home? For example, any machine requiring 3 phase is out. Something drawing much higher than 30 amps would seem to be a problem, too. Am I missing something here?
