  1. Copycat......or is it stalker? Just send your parts over and we'll add it to the pile that need to be put together.
  2. I dont think he is building a single stack. Correct.....these are going to be 2011s. Slides/frames should be showing up any day now.
  3. Definitely a LPA cut. I thought it was a Bomar until we put a Tripp sight up next to it.
  4. I just went ahead and made a quick one to get me by, thanks for the offer. I thought it was going to be more of a pain than it actually turned out to be and honestly it probably took me longer to post a thread than it did to draw the damn thing.
  5. Does anyone happen to have a dueling tree in their Sketchup Prop stash? I figured I'd better ask before I spent the time to make one.
  6. I think it's a little different technique required to shoot a 1911 than the Glock. My brother got very comfortable with his Glock and when he tried to switch to my Spartan it wasn't nearly as pretty. I shot the gun just fine though so we knew it was just something with his technique. Go shoot more, I'm sure you'll find it's every bit as accurate as your Glock.
  7. So I have been playing around trying to get my new Spartan to feed the MG 124 JHPs and think I may have stumbled across something. It really didn't like my load that I was running through my G34 at 1.120, so I loaded some all the way out to 1.160 and they seemed to feed a little better but I still wasn't happy. I then tried some down at 1.100 and HOLY CHIT they fed just like the fmj's I had laying around I was only able to hand cycle them and run just one mag through it but initial results seem very positive. I'll have more details by the weekend on how it performs.
  8. What length are you running those JHP's at? I've been working on getting the MG 124 JHP's to run out of my Spartan and think I may have finally stumbled across something that works!
  9. I'd say just shoot it and see what happens. It's probably leftovers from the test firing. Put a few mags down the barrel and let us know if you can still see the dark spot:)
  10. Weakhand shooting is something I practice quite a bit of actually. I keep getting more and more problems with my strong side wrist and elbow so for the last year or so I always try to put in some weak side practice in case the day comes that I can't shoot with my strong hand anymore. That being said, I've used it to my advantage in matches when targets/shooting positions preferred a left-handed approach. There are certainly instances where it speeds things up.
  11. For me, it's worth the extra barrel length and cost because the XDm fits my hand a lot better than the XDsc I have. I also think that a little extra barrel length should make it a little more pleasant to shoot and the extra few rounds in the mag are always a good thing. I am looking at the .40 though, so that's my $0.02
  12. Now that's some funny chit there! It's good we all have a sense of humor....Murphy strikes again!!
  13. +1. The Spartan is an incredible value. I just picked one up last weekend and it's tighter and smoother than the Kimbers I have played with.

I have to agree. I spoiled myself with the trigger I had in my G35, so I immediately hijacked it and put it in the G34:)

If you want to shoot Production, the things I would do are: Dawson adj sights Polish up the trigger parts 13# recoil spring .....and lots of ammo. They make a great gun for Production USPSA and SSP IDPA. Just my $.02
  16. Just wanted to add this is for a .40
  17. I've found re 15 to be way too temperature sensitive and only run tac with the sierra 77smk. The trick to getting it to shoot seemed to be to give it a fair amount of crimp with a Lee fcd.
  18. How did you manage to find a 5yr old thread to revive! I'm impressed That being said, they're both games and both can be useful training. Sure I think IDPA is overly restrictive and has some silly rules, but it's still trigger time and something to do.
  19. When our new Tacticals show up, we'll be sure to give an honest review of them. It's going to be a long few months waiting on them that's for sure!
  20. That seems like a pretty good deal, may have to give some of these a go. It's listed on PV's website under "specials".
  21. Hey man look on the bright side and start planning their replacements. Feel good that you're doing the right thing and take the knowledge you learned from those guns and apply it to the next builds!! In the mean time shoot a Glock....they're cheap LOL
  22. HAHA! Glad that was only water I just spit out on my keyboard
  23. Wow that is awesome for a first match!! Really? SWEET! I'm going to try to go shoot an IDPA match this weekend so hopefully it goes good!
  24. Congratulations! Like was mentioned above...change out the sights, add a lighter recoil spring, do some polishing on the internals and go shoot the crap out of it!
