  1. I just have to say that I was one that thought dry fire with no snap cap was a bad thing. This forum again proves to be a valuable tool as I am going to now practice a little more and just not worry about it!
  2. Hey Carl, it looks like I didn't get mine in on time. Can you put me on the cancellation list! JLR@rbrosrifles.com Thanks
  3. Damn that sucks dude. Freezing temps suck for sure!! I think it's gotten all the way up to 12 here at my house this weekend. Can't get outside and do anything...beer even froze today while I was out in the shop before I could get it all drank.
  4. Well I've got a Glock 34 & 35, and a XDsc-40. My opinion is they all point well, but the the XD has a better "feel" to it and fits my hand better. That being said, I doubt I'll be giving up my 34 anytime soon for an XD to shoot production but you never know. I am considering picking up a XD45 though to have a double stack 45 for carry purposes.
  5. I am starting to think that the red front and green rear that I'm running is pretty much ass-backwards the more I shoot it.
  6. I have to say that it's definitely a little busy and I'm thinking about either taking the rear FO out or blocking them because I find that the distract my eyes.
  7. I too have the Dawsons front and rear. I'm using the red fiber front and green fiber rear.
  8. I run 4.0g of Titegroup behind a MG 124JHP out of my G34. It seems to be as accurate as I am.
  9. Are you stuck on N320? I found that 5.0g of Titegroup works really well with the MG 200g JFP in my P220.
  10. I like having some sort of holdovers whether it be BDC or mildots or hash marks. It's certainly faster than trying to dial for everything.

    2010

    Yup hope 2011 is better
  12. I'm with the other guys, load is too hot or occasional bad brass. Try some tac with those bullets.
  13. Hey, silly question here... Is a Glock considered SA or DA?
  14. I run the Dawson .285x.100 front with Green FO and the adjustable Dawson rear with red FO. I think the next rear sight I get might not have the FO though since I find myself looking at them instead of the front one.
  15. I watched a guy "set" mine on the ground one time.....only because he couldn't lift it Him and his buddies then proceeded to ransack the thing afterward because it had ammo in it. Then to top things off they didn't get one of the boxes closed and all 100 rounds were then scattered around in pretty much every article of clothing in the bag.
  16. I use 23.5g of TAC behind a 77g SMK out of my 20" WOA precision gun and get ~2750. I've ran up to around 24.5 but backed it off since it was pushing the limits in HOT weather.
  17. Hey I'm glad I'm not the only surveyor on here:) All my co-workers know I shoot and occassionally I do a little 'smithing while I'm at the office, but usually it's just rummaging through boxes when I get things shipped there. It's usually....."OK, what'd you get this time" when the UPS guy shows up with a box. JLR, PLS #42697
  18. Welcome!! I'm hoping to get over to your area for some of the shoots at the Spokane and Fernan clubs!
  19. Thanks for the input Jim. I'm pretty sure I can put on the required 8 matches per year and I'll likely be doing this out of pocket so $50 isn't too bad at all. This weekend I'll have some time to inventory everything we have and then I'm hoping maybe you guys on here can help out with some stage design to get me started. There are a few guys that I know will help so I'll be doing a lot of it on my own, just not all of it.
  20. AH-HA, for FP I generally start with the HP or JHP data...whichever is available....and work from there.
  21. I agree that picking one discipline is the best way to start out for sure. My thought is to go with the USPSA rules and scoring since I really don't know Jack about IDPA. That may all change once I travel to shoot a few matches but I think I'll purchase the USPSA scoring program and read through the rule book. So how many stages should I shoot for in a monthly match? Will five longer stages be enough to draw shooters in? Would like some thoughts on that as well, although perhaps I should take that to the stage design forum.
  22. I was looking at getting the USPSA scoring software actually. I would like to get things going to make sure there's enough interest before going to the hassle of getting the club to join. My goals at the moment are to get this thing off the ground and have some "fun" matches to raise a little money for targets, pasters, timers, etc. Once things are moving and established I'll pursue the sanctioning. I'm certainly open to suggestion here though!
  23. It's just talking to you is all Trying to tell you how much $ you're saving reloading
  24. Apparently the IDPA shoots were stopped because there was an individual from the club that essentially ran all the shooters off. I believe at one time the regular shoots were well attended, and I believe with the right management/coordination they could be very successful. Right now, the limited pool of shooters that I've talked to would probably prefer USPSA and that's the direction that I'm leaning towards.
