Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I agree, I do like the MG bullets but due to the discount on the Berry's, I thought that I will give them a try. The order was placed and the total club order for bullets and primers came to $44,000 I guess that is why the price was so good. The bullets for the order weighed 9,200 lbs!
  2. After all of the good feed back, I still could not decide so I went with mostly Federal primers and 1,000 CCI's to give them a try. I also ordered 5,000 Berry's bullets to see how they shoot. At the club that I shoot at, I am the only one shooting Montana Gold, they all use Berry's so how bad can they be?
  3. $100/case I'm paying $160 up here. Worth the drive down to Fenton, at your price... One catch, you would have to join the local shoot club for $80/year and there is a waiting list. No free lunch I guess.
  4. Math check: Sorry I meant to say $80 less per case of $3,000. I and paying $280 per case for MG. I am shooting an STI Trojan 9MM, MG 147grn over 3.3grn of Tight Group
  5. I am a member of a local shooting club and we are getting ready to make a buy on primers and bullets. The prices are very good and especially on CCI SP primers & Berry's bullets. I have always used Federal but the price difference between CCI and Federal is about $4 per thousand. Any reason to stick with Federal for the extra $4/K? I shoot mostly 9mm and have been using MG 147grn. The club is offering Berry's 147grn RN for $80 less per thousand than what I am paying for MG. Any thoughts?
  6. "I tumbled about half of the rounds I used tonight after they were made to get off the Dillon lube". You don't have to re-tumble after lubing with Dillon lube. I go by Dillons instruction and spray the rounds with a little rubbing alcohol and towel them off. Works great!
  7. How do you know what "set properly" is?
  8. I have a Trojan 9mm. I use MG 147 CMJ and I have had trouble with nose dive jambs on the first round from a full mag, no problem after the first round. If I stay under OAL of 1.135 they seem to run fine. It is a great bullet for the price.
  9. I'm running MG 147gn CMJ (this is a semi-blunt nose bullet) and am having the problem with anything 1.140 and longer
  10. Thank you for the feed back. I bought my Trojan 9mm last October from Brazos. I bought (4) "STI" 9 round mags with the gun (I am not sure who makes the mags for STI). When I had the nose dive problem, I called Brazos and they said that I could send it back and they would see what they could do to fix the feeding problem. I didn't really want to be without the gun so I bought (2) 10 round mags from Tripp to see if the mags were my problem. The new mags did the same thing; nose dive jamb on the first round only. I am now loading to OAL of 1.130 and they are feeding, but just barely on the ragged edge on the first round. Thank you for the help. Sending it back to the expert is my next move.
  11. I have a Trojan that I bought last October and I was having feed problems similar to yours. I am using MG 147gn CMJ's. I'm with you, I love the gun and I did not want to send it back and be with out it for two weeks. I experimented with different COAL's. The first round was nose diving occasionally at a COAL of 1.14. I tested at 1.15 and it got worse. I moved down to 1.13 and went away for the most part. I can still feel a hesitation on the first round from slide lock but it loads. When I have time, I may send it to STI and see if they can fix it.
  12. I bought this one My linkIt works great. Brian has a new one that looks similar to it.
