  1. We've actually been thinking about doing this to augment our precision rifle builds, but just weren't sure how much of a market there was. We'll likely be testing some new AR products out this year so we'll just have to see how it goes. Just thought of something....I believe GA Precision will also make custom AR's.
  2. We probably have a few extra laying around and could loan you one for the match if we're there.
  3. Hi all, I'm trying to get a monthly pistol event going here at the NCW Gun Club in East Wenatchee, WA (ncwgunclub.com). Since we have no funds for buying targets and supplies at the moment, I'm building this thing from the ground up and am going to have to make it pay for itself. Therefore, April 3 at 9am will be the first "match" or practice if you will. Cost will be $20 per person and all money will go towards improving the program. I'm anticipating an all steel match with at least 5 stages. Keep in mind that this is a FUN match and is not sanctioned. Likely I'll not have enough volunteers for RO's, so we'll be scoring/timing ourselves. Scoring will be time + penalties for misses to keep things simple. The purpose of this event is to test out what equipment we have under match conditions and see what works and what doesn't. There will be plenty of shooting and improvising if something should break as I won't have much for spares I know a lot of you folks will be attending the match in Ephrata on 4/2 so I figured this would give an opportunity for people to get some extra shooting in while they're in the area. Thanks!
  4. I would have to agree with the above ideas of putting it back to stock and see if it functions. If the problem still exists, then maybe look at your grip. Perhaps you're hitting the slide release with your thumb?
  5. I think pretty much any quality cross-training shoe will suite you well. I generally use my Keen or Merrill hikers but I'm thinking about giving some of the new Under Armour shoe/boots a go.
  6. Maybe when releasing the slide you're putting pressure on the slide and slowing it down with another part of your grip? Also, try polishing the extractor and maybe a heavier recoil spring? Not sure what recoil spring you have in there but perhaps go with a little heavier one? Just some thoughts I had, good luck!
  7. Nice blaster:) I just put together a G17 with the Jager kit last night and am planning on testing it out this weekend before I put it up for sale. I bought all the stuff to put it together and then decided to go the STI 2011 route as I shoot them better for some reason. Let us know how that thing runs with the minor loads. Should be pretty fun!
  8. Well my guess would be that your new lot of powder is a little faster. I've seen that with H1000 in the big guns not too long ago.
  9. Might also want to try some CCI41 primers. I had the same thing happening with CCI400 running my normal load of 23.5 behind a 77smk and switched to the #41s and haven't had a problem since.
  10. Thanks! I knew that information was out there.....told you my FU was weak today!
  11. While waiting on my Tripp sight to show up I was planning on putting a bomar clone on so I could at least shoot my new blaster. It's already got the bomar cut, but doesn't have the hole drilled for the elevation screw. My question is does the hole get drilled/tapped all the way through to the firing pin hole? If so, what's the easiest way to debur it? My search-fu is struggling today so my apologies if this is coming knowledge.....
  12. I'm new to the whole STI mag scene so is there any chance you'd like to share those reliability and speed tips/tricks? I'm sure I'm not the only one that would benefit from a little diy lesson....
  13. My setup for a Spartan 9mm is Tripp mags, Fusion magwell, DOH holster, 9lb spring with minor loads. I doubt you'll find a holster that won't mess up the factory finish as I don't think it's too awful durable. As for your 124 load, it'll likely work just fine being it's a fmj.
  14. I can't see the PM9 working out any better than a Spartan, but I've not had a PM9 so that's just my guess. I'd probably sell the PM9 and buy reloading supplies or other goodies for the Spartan:) If you've got all that stuff already, then using the money towards training would be an awesome idea as well!
  15. Now that's funny....and probably true! (relax....just a humorous IDPA jab) I'm not a revolver shooter, but try to keep up on the other disciplines. 105,000 should make for some fun guns to shoot!!
  16. Sweet, I'm thinking we can come up with a little something to use for the precision rifle Thanks for the information!
  17. Well I sort of forgot about updating my findings with the Spartan since a buddy of mine bought it shortly after I made my post here. Loading the MG 124jhp bullets at 1.100" hand cycled fine but when I took it to the range I had several FTF's....sometimes multiples per mag. I'll have another one this weekend so I'll be back to the drawing board again trying to get these bullets to feed. Has anyone had any luck getting these bullets to work in a Spartan or am I just better off replacing them with a cmj?
  18. I'm in sort of the same boat trying to figure out what I need to gather up to be prepared for this match so I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for sure.
  19. Here's a strange question...would a 1911 with some sort of a hybrid locking system work? Something like a cross between a 1911 and a XD/Glock for instance. Link replaced via the XD/Glock barrel type and added strength from the 1911 style lugs in the slide? My apologies if this is a really stupid idea, just a random thought that popped into my head. Back to the OP's question....I'd suggest it be alot like the STI Tactical. Double stack, polymer/steel hybrid design.
  20. Didn't know Warne made one? Anyone know of this?
  21. You could buy clothes, but seriously, how many flannels does a guy really need?
  22. I ended up putting an STI ambi on my Spartan and it fit and functioned great for the little while that I had the gun.
  23. Beware Glen, this place has a bad habit of making money disappear!!!
  24. Welcome fellow Washingtonian Lots of good information and people here.
