  1. You forgot Canyon Creek and Rich The shortest and lightest always gets left out. Rich
  2. The longest slide Springfield had was their LSP model, it had one set of V porting at the end of the slide. You will probably end up buying a complete gun if you can't find a slide that someone has laying around. You will also have to switch barrels to a non ported one if your going to shoot Limited/iron sights. Rich
  3. Just a tid bit of history USPSA Open shotgun didn't have a capacity limit until it was decided by two people. The BOD didn't vote on the rule and the BOD members I talked to had no clue what had happened until I asked them why the 10+1 limit was in the new rule book. This was done a round '99 or '00, at that time most of the Open shooters had 12 shot tubes and some had the 15 to 17 round tubes. The e-mails I exchanged at the time of this, it was made clear that it wasn't done because of the AWB. It was done so things would be a level playing field and would eliminate any idiot who could use a hacksaw and weld up a long tube. You can get upset with IPSC's voting power structure all you want but unfair rules were made with no vote at all in USPSA. Rich
  4. The lowers are the same for the 4.5 and 5.25 but as usual you need to perform a safety check to see if they will work together. Have you had a trigger job done to the 4.5 lower? Rich
  5. I did a slight version of a bi-tone with a SV.
  6. The Single Stack Classic Match has only been won(HOA) with a .45 once, if I'm not mistaken. The .45 has probably won more in the classes M thru D than the .40. Rich
  7. I have 3 melonite(black) and 1 Bi-tone that aren't spoken for in this first shipment. If your looking at getting into Limited or Production/Limited this is the gun to go with. Rich
  8. You have a price worked out yet for all that? The price will be $1,550.00 shipped to your FFL. Rich
  9. The .40's are here, I've got a shipment and we will have the 4P+ Limited Pistols ready for sale. 4P enhancements: Trigger job 2# and up Extended release/B1 release Tungsten guide rod 3/8" or 5/16" Full width front fiber optic sight to your specified width Traction grip enhancement Barrel/frame/slide refit The + CC magwell 4-140mm CC magazines(21+1 capacity) Rich
  10. It was, now I'll have to a .40 the same way. Rich
  11. The square trigger guard allows more room for the trigger finger to move and provides a more positive placement for the weak hand index finger on the bottom of the trigger guard. When I do the square trigger guard I like to move the front leg forward 1/4" to 3/8". There are those who dislike them even though they are shooting S_I framed guns which are squared on the outside but left rounded on the inside. The STG's do work in most holsters made today, there are a few that they won't. The forward finger on the front isn't used by many today and those who do it don't promote its use. Rich The STG has become my signature mark on a custom 1911.
  12. I can convert the novak cut to a Bo-mar style rear sight. Rich
  13. There wasn't much that had to be done on Jon's grip to frame fitting, it took more time to fit the thumb shield than the grip/frame. You just don't force them on, go slow and remove a little at a time and they will fit up nicely. Rich The other side of the picture Jon posted.
  14. The metal grip SV is making completes the design of the modular pistol. When you buy a grip you get a trigger/no insert, mainspring housing, mag well, and ambi mag catch. With their grip safety added it gives a fit that no modified polymer grip can. The next biggest benefit is the added weight in the hand and not below your hand like a heavy magwell does. Rich
  15. I don't have to wait, I made my own.
  16. The CC base pad kit will get you the highest capacity(24 +1 9mm-21 +1 .40) and will fit the 140mm gauge. These base pads will work with any mag well out on the market but, they were designed along with the CC mag well. Rich
  17. Both models can have the trigger pull set down to 2#. Rich
  18. There isn't a magic number, weight needs to be removed to get the gun to balance in the hand and function/handle to an optimum level. There are a host of variables such as-metal frame, polymer grip, heavy/light magwell, dust cover length, barrel type, guide rod,.... Rich
  19. The pricing will be in the $750.00 range for black and $800.00 for Bi-Tone(stainless steel). I've got back orders in for both. Rich
  20. Tanfoglio has solved that problem, Henning Wallgren has hardened pins to replace any that aren't of the new levers. CZ's still have a problem with the pins unless they have upgraded in the past few years. Rich
  21. Paul, Are you sure it is the stock recoil spring? The scenario you just described is dead on for a recoil spring that is too light. Rich
  22. EAA has a couple models in the 10mm, the Witness line has the Match, Limited, Limited Pro, Gold Team, and the Hunter(6"). If you look around you can probably find a smith who can build one in under 6 months. Rich
