  1. Before I comment further, please remind me what you will be doing with this masterpiece? Local steel matches, range gun, maaaaaaaayyybe take a run at a local USPSA match...just for fun of course.
  2. Thanks guys for all the comments and thoughts. I already have 2 options (SDC & LDC) spec'd in GunBuilder and just waiting to see what the price difference is, Blued vs DLC. Both are spec'd as 5in bull (no sight tracker), but can't decide on either SDC or LDC...both are pretty badass. Blacked out except for the tin barrel and an IPSC box "bobtail" (just like the look) Anyone have issues at all with rust on the grip? Ranger; you're down in the steamy south...any rust through your blueing at all?
  3. Looking to start my first Infinity 5in build (SDC of LDC) in 9mm and was wondering about the Infinity "blued" finish. Does anyone here have experience with the blueing wear on their steel grips? If that's what they use on the grips when selecting "Blued" as pistol finish. Looking to save about 450 by doing so apparently. Thanks guys!

  6. You guys are definitely making me feel a lot more comfortable about keeping it in the garage now
  7. That was going to be my next question...should it be anchored. Thanks TennJeep1618!
  8. Where are you geographically? How's your climate? Im in Maryland and the summers can sometimes get a bit steamy, and of course...the winters are always a crap-shoot
  9. Can anyone shed some light on the cons of keeping your gun safe in the garage? Humidity issues? Will a golden rod help alleviate any problems? We have a decent size garage but not that much available space inside (with a baby here now) to have one there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Thanks guys for the recommendations and ideas. I've narrowed it down to either a bladetech doh or a com holster with a bladetech instructor belt with tekloks for everything.
  11. Looking for advice on OWB holsters for my 2011s. I'd like something other than a DAA (Racer/RaceMaster) or CR Speed drop holster and would prefer something that holds the gun more secure as it'd be used mostly during local matches as to not have to carry the gun bagged from station to station, and not specifically to draw from. Was looking at DAA's PDR (http://www.doublealpha.biz/PDR_Low_Ride_Holster) but wanted to check with the community first to see what your thoughts were on this? I'd be using this one holster for both, my 2011 sdc 5in and my 2011 LDC/Butler 5in. Thoughts, input, ideas...? Thanks!
  12. Just had Matt do two slides and a grip for me. Top notch work. Great guy to deal with and fast too! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Looking for recommendations for a reasonably priced tool to allow me to adjust the front sights on my 1911/2011s without marring anything...
  14. thank you for the feedback fellas Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Building another 2011 in 9mm and am torn between an SDC or an SWDC frame. Are there any benefits to either type, other than maybe the small amount of weight addition on the SWDC?
  16. Recieved the gun via FedEx this morning...WOW...even better than the photos! Very flat and almost no recoil at all. Love the Infinity ATZ rear sight too. Slide to frame fit and barrel lock-up is very tight. Gary does such great work.
  17. Thank you brother! Now if I can just sell my glock (http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=210919&hl=), I can get started on a 1911 build with him...
  18. This little guy has beaten a few people locally that are running 2011 open guns
  19. He's amazing...and fast!
  20. Taran's SV I wanted to mimic...
  21. Big thanks to Gary Natale at Gans Enterprises for taking all of my parts and building this beast in less than 1 week Wanted to mimic one of Taran Butlers SV's and Gary did it right on point! Additional thank yous to: Brandon/Tiffany at SV for the barrel, slide and sights, Shay at Akai for the amazing grip work, Shooters Connection for most all of the parts
  22. Wonder why Springer stopped? Just heard back from the gentleman at Northeast Coatings and they do not do general consumer coating work.
  23. So here's what I've found out so far... Calico Coatings Looks like they do great work, but to have a single gun and not a large batch done in DLC, it'd be about $ 1,200!! Northeast Coatings Called yesterday and left a message with the gentleman in charge of firearms coatings...still have yet to hear back from him...
  24. Thank you sir! He built my first open gun years ago and he's just so amazingly fast! Thinking of having him build me a single stack if I can't find someone willing to trade a Trojan for my Glock / RMR setup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
