To get back on track to OP, I definitely think you'll find using a Mac far easier (and simpler) than using a PC. Same general principles of navigating your harddrive(s) as you would normally do on a PC...only MORE STABLE and fewer (if any) crashes. Install software with a double click, and organize your tools/software/applications in the "Dock" (pinned to the bottom/center of your screen by default).

Recommended by who, and which av system? Malware, yes, I can understand that, so just don't visit questionable sites or download software from unknown sources. Default OS X security settings don't even let you run apps from an unknown source. But actual viruses that go in and attack and modify the underlying unix code of OS X? If you're logged onto your computer as a standard user as a matter of practice, instead of an administrator-level userid, how is an attacker going to get into su state to screw with the actual operating system? My 2009 MacPro runs windows XP, Vista & 7 (virtual installs) better and faster than any of todays current PC's. I suggest heading over to macsales.com (OWComputing) and picking up an older mac that uses and Intel chipset and not a Power-PC chipset. Play around with it before you go diving into a new purchase. Macs are quite a bit more expensive than PC's, but you get what you pay for, and they LAST. It's easier and more user-friendly than you might think! Always wanted a Baer in 45, but never had the patience to wait 1-2 years to get my hands on one. Had been watching Cove Creek Outfitters for one, but they didn't have any P2s. Heard about Oak Hill Guns from a gentleman here and thought id check them out. They had two in stock and I ended up going with the Premier 2. The other was a Boss with 1.5 guarantee and was a bit over my budget. Ended up getting the P2 for about 1720 shipped! Already ran about 600 rounds through her and only one ftf... 230 gr Factory ammo nonetheless. Running 185 berrys flat points with 5.6 gr of IMR PB at 1.135 oal and shoots amazingly flat and SOFT.
