  1. Great Job John! I noticed a lot of familiar names moving upwards this past update. Great job guys! Who's next? Mister Clean "Master Keen" has a nice ring to it- Grand Master Carden perhaps?
  2. On the rare occasion that I get to the range to practice; if things turn crappy and are not going right I try not to walk away but rather change my focus. I might bring the targets in closer or start from low ready and do slow fire or accuracy drills. Changing focus from one drill to the other has salvaged a few crappy days. Some days the focus is just not there and nothing goes right - on those days it is sometimes better to stop shooting and do something relaxing or read about shooting to regain my focus without physically applying the training I am trying. Unfortunately, my live fire training days have become a thing of the past so I might apply something new or untried at a club match to see the results of the "theory." Sometimes this isn't too productive to scores but it gives you a real-time result that can be applied at a later time. I think the key to learning is to be flexible and be open to finding answers - where ever they may be found. Shooting a lot of club matches can be equally beneficial to a regimented schedule but I think it takes a lot longer to become proficient than if you were to actually practice your weaknesses during separate sessions. There's a huge psychological benefit to overcoming a weakness moreso than just the added skill. The confidence factor goes WAY up and things smooth out all over.
  3. Job well done! As was said to me when I made it - "Welcome to the fire!"
  4. WOW, IMPRESSIVE! Congratulations J.B.!!
  5. If you're going to be in Z-town and want to shoot USPSA then East Huntington will probably be the way to go. There is no easy way to get to Milford from Z-town other than heading west to C-bus on I70 then south on I71. That will take at least three hours. If you're just wanting to get some trigger time then the Briar Rabbit match on Sunday is only about 15 minutes from Z-town and really fun. C-ville is about 1.75 from Z-town. Good folks and good matches at both places.
  6. LOL - I had the volume cranked up...my wife thinks I'm nuts. When I told her it was SA and that I look for him for shooting advice she REALLY thought I was nuts. Thanks for posting - that was great! Wish I was there....good luck out there!
  7. Points_and_Percentages.doc Hopefully this isn't too redundant. Those of you that use Excel spreadsheets (or have time to use calculators) have probably already done this but not everyone uses Excel. I thought someone might enjoy seeing just how close the match really was from one revolver shooter to the next ahead. If this is against some rule or regulation then I hope the Mod-Squad will delete the attachment ASAP. These numbers were posted for information purposes only and no names were attached - sort of like HHF.
  8. GREAT JOB Robert! Somebody get that man an A card!
  9. Congratulations Cheetahs! We missed you here in Ohio today. You missed a great match. The reason they knew all about you was we tipped them off and told them you were a "ringer." Glad to see you didn't disappoint. Catch you next spring!
  10. Usually midnight (eastern time)....but that's just a casual observation. GREAT MATCH!!! Everything went really smooth and worked like clock work. I didn't hear a single complaint (about the match) all day. Stages were terriffic and challenging as usual. Range staff was super and the stats were amazingly accurate. Thanks to all the staff for everything.
  11. I noticed that the name on the website changed when the wait list came out. Before that it actually included the other divisions in the title....I was just happy there was a flag-draped cylinder in the logo...that was enough for me. I can't speak unkindly of HQ after they started the awards ceremony with revolver. I'm placated for another year.
  12. Does this mean you'll join the rest of the misfit toys and shoot revolver? Disenchanted, disgruntled, disfunctional - oh, you'll do just fine Hang in there Chris. If it were all about medals and trophies we'd take up bowling. In all seriousness, I think Flex and Barrettone are correct. It can be fixed, it's just the way it's always been done.
  13. Rumor has it that if you get that troublesome hip replaced you're attitude about life will improve exponentially. Good luck to you, Sam.
  14. Better hope that footage was obtained before he was seen hanging out with (Grand) Master-Walsh
  15. I have a group shot of the super squad with the Carmoney's on video too....just no time to download all the video to YouTube. I'm pretty sure Bill Nesbitt has a group shot of our squad.
  16. Most guys I know cut down their 5" barrels. The great debate is over - I just think they should finish it and do away with ESR. I'm betting most ranges will let you shoot a 5" for club matches.
  17. ....so, if you actually practice with speedloaders you can achieve as good or better results than a moonclip gun? NO WAY!!!!! Guess all the BS commentary that caused the split of SSR was just that....BS. Practice makes up any perceived advantage to moonclips. The proof is in the scores - just like it always has been.
  18. Just to beat a dead horse: There were 48 revolver shooters at the 2004 IDPA Nationals, 31 (combined) at the 2005 Nationals and now 40 at the 2006 IDPA Nationals. So in IDPA they are technically behind the curve from the 2004 totals. However, I'm actually glad to see IDPA revolver shooters coming back even though I still think the split division is watering down the competition and participation. I wish they'd just kill ESR and be done with it. USPSA on the otherhand has seen a steady increase in the past three years - COINCIDENCE! - perhaps. Hopefully, the cross-over shooters will continue to support both games.
  19. More friends maybe, more sponsors - I'm not so sure.
  20. GREAT job Aero, I just downloaded all my 8mm stuff to DVD today (about 1.5 hours). Not sure how to distribute it yet.
  21. I agree, it was great to see Vic Picket, John, and Randy profiled with Lisa and the others - Great show. It was also interesting to see how a lefty (not the Lefty) reloads the revolver. Too bad Mr. Bane couldn't have made the USPSA Nationals. I didn't see the American Shooter crew there either.
  22. Nope, I used a 5" 625 #2 = 4" 625 (I used to shoot IDPA exclusively) #3 = 4" 625 (currently in the hands of Randy Lee for a new cylinder) 686 in .38/.357 for IDPA SSR (displayed on SDM website before sight and grip modifications). Model 10-2 in .38spl for backup IDPA SSR gun
