  1. Anyone put a Ti cylinder in a M25-2 and use it for USPSA? I've read some of the other postings and it seems like some of you have tried it but I don't remember seeing anyone with them last year at the Nationals (2006). Hey Hop, who did the "Action Pistol treatment," as if I don't know, and what was done to get them ready to rock? Did you leave in the factory trigger and hammer? I've been thinking of tricking out a M25 with a Ti cylinder and replacing the trigger and hammer with Carmoney style work on the hammer. Basically, I would take out the factory parts for preservation of original equipment and use new parts for competition, wear and tear. Any suggestions?

  3. And so it did - Congratulations! That's also the closest move into a class I've ever seen...but you're still there - Great Job!
  4. Without getting too heavy and because you asked: I see the image of the man as "self" and the light in the background as his desired destination - awareness, skill, success, etc. The self stands in the darkness and seeks to move into the light. The wolf represents all the personal inhabitions and mental/physical obstacles placed on self by self - a formidable adversary. Once the wolf is defeated the goals are attainable; however there are still mountains to climb in the distance and although the journey is easier once the wolf is defeated - defeating him is but the first step to move closer to the light. The stick could represent the desperation of self to defeat the wolf. It is the logical weapon of choice since nothing else is available (ignorance, the usual tactics, the known quantity) and the first attempt to gain an advantage on the wolf (the "easy" road - what we're accustomed to doing when a challenge arises)....but what will eventually defeat the wolf is intellect and gile, agility and application of training (especially if you've watched the movie). That's what is says to me anyway.
  5. Congratulations (unofficially - scores not posted yet) to Hopalong for what appears to be another victory in Revolver! Chad gave him a run for his money this year and wasted no time in moving quickly past me. Won't be long and he'll be in A-Class where he belongs One of these days I'm going to catch you Hop ...until then; it was great to shoot and BS with you again. Hope the ride home was safe and uneventful. Good luck at the Nationals. Congratulations to all the revolver shooters. We had a great turn out and had a great time as usual. Another great squad. Thanks Sue for being "squad Mom." It was nice meeting new friends and I had a great time visiting with old friends.
  6. Another Kick-ASS Ohio match!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks to Kyle and the "usual suspects" that help every year and usually every week to run these matches. You guys pulled of a GREAT match again this year. Thanks for all your dedication and volunteer work. Without you these matches would not go on and we'd all be home mowing grass or working. Thanks so much for all your time and effort. Congratulations to all the division winners! Someone suggested before the match that the stages seemed bland...but it was still a super challenging match as usual. It was a pure test of all your shooting skills, nothing tricky but a good test of skills. Nice job folks! Keep it simple, we'll still find a way to make it complicated without a ton of movers or hidden targets all over the place. Good luck to all of those heading to the Nationals.
  7. A gentleman and a friend. Thanks for your encouragement!

  8. You have a couple of real psycho's on your squad....GOOD LUCK!!! Flex, isn't there a provision on the match application that prevents guys from Ramer from attending...it scares the livestock!
  9. I met Stewart on my sqaud at the Area 8 match a couple of years ago. He was the nicest man you would ever want to meet. We had never met before but by the end of the day I felt like I knew him for years. After that, I teased him relentlessly about how good a life he had because his wife let him come out and play so much. He claimed she kept him around to take care of the house, etc. and rewarded him by letting him come out with us. Unfortunately, I never had the pleasure of shooting on his squad again but saw him on occasion at other matches and he always said hello. I can say that he was always smiling and made me remember that we get together to shoot not just for the competition but for the comradery we have with each other. I feel absolutely awful for his family and friends. God Bless you Mr. Lewis. I hope to meet up with you again some day.
  10. If anyone talks to Randy, tell him to check his messages....he's got one of my 625's but it (and he) is MIA....can't get any responses through normal channels. I know he's swamped and he was moving and he was changing his website - so if anyone bumps into him tell him to drop me a line when he gets a chance.... Thanks.
  11. AWESOME - can't wait to get back to the range. I took a couple of months off to chase deer. Looking forward to the RO class too. I'll bring the wheels to M'burg on the 14th, etc.....
  12. Talk is cheap Tell me when you want me to bring my extra wheel for you to play with and we'll make it a reality for you. PS - Congratulations on the other EXCELLENT runs! If I ever figure out how to actually run a wheelgun I might try something else too
  13. Talk is cheap Tell me when you want me to bring my extra wheel for you to play with and we'll make it a reality for you.
  14. The last guy that made a statement like that had to wear a disclaimer on his t-shirt to boot - no thanks.
  15. It will be more difficult to shoot such good classifiers when you make major Just bustin' your balls, Jim! Great Job!!! By the time I make it high enough to shoot with The Supers they'll all be GM's and there won't be any room for me on the squad

    Got Video

Off topic? - I found this while searching Google video.... I don't care what anyone says about USPSA, I've NEVER seen anything so diabolical as the ending target array in this video Definitely not revolver neutral!....little wild to see a shooter chasing the SO uprange too Video - IPSC?
  17. Revolver, naturally.... Congratulations Steve, you've paid the dues to get there - enjoy it!
  18. If there's anyone that should be posting on this thread it's "Hey QuicksDraw!" After his stories from A8 in 2005, I'm definitely curious. Hope all is well Stew!
  19. I always like to read older posts like this and then see the shooter's current position. It should inspire the newbies to keep at it. What a difference a few years makes in a person's confidence and abilities. I'm guessing Flex and Steve M. would eat this one alive today without hesitation. I haven't fired a shot in a month and this was our first stage today (in a cold indoor range)so I didn't do that well . However, I'm thinking that if I could shoot this in warm weather and outside (with better lighting) I could really improve on it. It really wasn't bad at all. As it was I pulled shots into B and C hits and ended up with 67pts and 16.19 sec for a probable 69% in revolver. I shot freestyle top right, right to left bottom, top left. Same for strong hand, then reversed the order for weak hand. I typically shoot left to right so the freestyle didn't feel that comfortable...something to work on .
  20. Congratulations Sam! Well earned. They got Marmot452 also. He got a similar letter in the mail with his B card. The Nationals was his fourth or fifth USPSA match - ever....I'm guessing if I can tear him away from a Master's Degree program and IDPA matches long enough to shoot a couple more USPSA matches he'll be in A class next year.
  21. 686, Model 10, 586 - for SSR. 625 for ESR Keep the Taurus for fun and home defense. It's really a personal preference. There are a lot of six shots out there that will fit the mold. Use the search function - there's lots of good information in here. PS - welcome to wheelgunning!
  22. According to the website, Sammy's still a C. They haven't caught up with him yet. Seems like the only way to get away from that "kid" now is to race him to the top! I can almost see the beam's of Mike's pride from Ohio . Both of you have done quite well and should feel real good.
  23. +1 - that's what I was going to say.
  24. Gotta include a revolver in a couple of them ....and Julie of course
